ALTHEA
When Alex got no response from me, he buried his face in the crock of my neck. He let go of my neck and his hand traveled south. He cupped my ass and squeezed it. His hand was big enough to cup one cheek with ease. Then he let go of my hands. My arms wrapped around his neck, pulling him closer.
Alexander had his hand on my shirt. He pulled my shirt off of my shoulder, exposing it. My breath hitched when I felt his teeth grazing against my skin. Before he could go any further, I placed one of my hands between his hungry lips and my skin that he was munching on. Breathing heavily, he pulled away. As if I had just woken him up from a dream.
Alexander awkwardly cleared his throat and put me back down on the ground. “Sorry! I lost control for a second. I shouldn't have done that.” He whispered, his tone laced with embarrassment. I couldn't hide my smile. There was a man who made my life hell every single chance he had in his life. While the other version of this man is something I never thought I would get.
The day I found out that Alexander was my mate, I was actually terrified. He never really looked at me after his parents passed away. And we had no connection, no relations left between us after that. We were total strangers. And even then, his hatred for me was clear. I never even thought in my wildest dreams that he would be so gentle with me one day.
Smiling shyly, I took a step towards him and wrapped my arms around his torso. I hugged him tightly and he did the same. At that moment, there was no lust between us. It was just romantic, in the cutest way.
After a minute or so, Alexander pinched my chin lightly and guided my gaze toward his. “I know your perfect size. These will fit you perfectly. Just try them on.” He whispered softly. For a second, I had forgotten that we were still at the mall, but not at home.
“But they are so expensive. And too many. Why can't we buy from the open market? Where I can find better and cheaper dresses. Trust me, they will look better.” I tried to argue with him again. I didn't want him to waste so much money over the dresses I would probably wear once or twice.
I watched him sigh again. And he pinched the bridge of his nose again. “You are not supposed to worry about the price. I am buying it for my mate. Instead of arguing with me, just accept it.” Of course, I knew he wouldn't back down either. He was as stubborn as I had been.
“How about, I buy one dress from here for the ball? Please!!” I didn't want to argue with him. But I also didn't want him to spend so much money over dresses that I wouldn't even wear. He sighed and nodded his head.
“Fine. But then, you'll have to wear whatever I choose for you.” In that agreement, something smelled fishy. I nodded in agreement but I started to have a bad feeling about it.
