Chapter 37
Chapter 37
The next day, Marianne woke up and she remembered everything. She knew she was drunk but not to the point of wasted. Every action that took place the previous day was willing and consensual and she felt like complete shit because of it. Well of course she did, she had sex with one of her clients, and a client who was getting married no less. She had no idea what came over that day and why the fact that Dylan kissed her suddenly sprung up in her mind but now there was no turning back from what she had done.
Dylan was gone, as one would expect. It was the morning of the wedding but Marianne was in no rush to get up since it would be held in the evening. She wondered what was going through Vivienne's mind when she decided to have the bachelorette party the night before the wedding. But it was a relief that the wedding would not be in the morning or she would have surely missed it.
She and Dylan stayed up for most of the night, into the morning, she remembered the last time she checked her phone, it was around three and so she probably fell asleep after that. Marianne lost count of how many times they had sex and although every time she did it, the guilt in her chest would grow, she still did it, and that was inexcusable.
But the thing that stood out to her vividly, was the fact that Dylan wanted to marry her instead of Vivienne. She would have understood if he just said he did not want to marry Vivienne but why drag Marianne into this. She was just the therapist, yeah he had kissed her in the past, but that didn't mean anything. He could not have developed feelings for her, could he?
"No," Marianne assured herself. "It's not possible. He was just grasping at straws. And was clearly not in his right mind... we both weren't."
The lower half of her body felt sore and ached, there were marks on her hips, that were clearly from his fingers and she had hickeys on her collarbone and breasts, but there were none on her neck and that was a relief.
But then there was the biggest worry of them all, and at the thought, her stomach flipped.
Did anyone know?
It was obvious that the both of them disappeared and spent the night together. So, someone could have realized they were missing and put two and two together. Vivienne would have definitely looked for Dylan at some point and she could have wandered through the hotel and heard them having sex. Marianne was sure she said his name more than one time during their time together.
If anyone knew then they would be ruined, she would be ruined. There would be no way for her to explain her actions. Marianne Blake had sex with one of her clients, and it just so happened to be a client with millions of eyes following them.
She really fucked up.
All of Dylan's clothes were gone and hers were the only ones on the floor. She decided to just go and take a shower to try and calm her mind. If no one knew then she and Dylan would just pretend like nothing happened and move on.
When Marianne checked her phone, she saw that it was past ten o'clock, and she also had a message for Dylan. Why would he message her? She hoped he was not telling her that he enjoyed last night and wanted to keep it up or something like that.
'No one knows about last night. When I left, everyone was passed out in the bar, lounge, everywhere. Even Vivienne.'
Marianne's legs gave out beneath her and she slumped next to the bed. A sigh of relief left her mouth and she laid her head on the bed for a moment. He must have guessed that she would have been worrying about that and messaged her as reassurance. She would have messaged him back as thanks but he would see that she saw the message and that would be enough. And so she deleted the chat. Evidence was never a good thing. If someone happened to get their hands on her phone, then even if she explained herself it would still look suspicious and could plant some thoughts in their head.
With that out of the way, she took a very long shower after, making sure to scrub her skin until it was raw. The action was simple but made her feel like less of a whore. She then used some of the cold items in the mini-fridge to try and lessen the appearance of the hickeys on her body. The dress she was wearing to the wedding showed her collar bones but her breasts would be covered. She even put it on as she was dealing with the hickeys to see how bad it was.
After spending about an hour trying to erase the evidence of the previous night, Marianne went down to the hotel. She kept her movements slow and small, afraid that if she attracted attention, then everyone would know what she did. Since it seemed like everyone else was much worse than her, she did feel a bit better seeing people walking about as if each footstep made their head pound harder.
It was much less noisy than usual and she even saw some people were still passed out on the lounge couches.
"Marianne." a hand rested on her shoulder.
Upon turning around, she saw that it was Morgan and he looked perfect as usual.
"Why don't you look like shit like the rest of us?" she asked, sending him a playful glare.
"That's because I can drink in moderation. Unlike everyone else here it seems. But of course, that would not be a problem if the wedding were not today." he sighed, running his hands through his hair.
"Right? I would have still been in bed if not that."
"You look better than everyone here. Did you not get drunk? I looked for you last night, but I didn't see you."
Her heart skipped a beat at his question and she had to speak fast or she would look suspicious. "I did get drunk but not as bad as everyone here. I was probably the first one to leave and it seems like it was a good idea."
"Oh, yeah that makes sense. I didn't peg you as much of a drinker." he chuckled.
"Yeah, I guess that everyone here influenced me, they just handed me drink after drink, and then I left after it began to feel bubbly." Marianne shrugged.
"Well, you sound like you had a fine night. Why don't you have breakfast with me." he flashed her a charming smile like it was a secret weapon as a way to prevent anyone from saying no to him.
"Only if you'll make it for me. I think your cooking will become like a life source for me."
He gave her a lopsided grin and Marianne almost screamed. It was unfair how sexy he was without even trying.
"Of course I'll cook it for you. That's what I was offering."
They walked off towards the kitchen, they realized that the staff had no problems with people using a part of the kitchen if they knew what they were doing. And after witnessing Morgan in action, they surely would have no problems letting him use the kitchen again.
"Are you sure you don't have a girlfriend?" Marianne asked.
"How many times do I have to tell you that I don't." he shook his head and placed his hand on the small of his back as he guided her down the corridor towards the kitchen door.
"A boyfriend?"
"I am one hundred percent single."
"Ah, I still feel like you're lying to me."
"And what about you? Why don't you have anyone? It seems like you are always putting me up on a pedestal, but what about you? You're way more awesome than me, and yet, you are also single."
"That's because I just don't want to deal with relationships. All of them saw me as a therapist and not a girlfriend, so I'd rather not go down that road again."
"Not all people you date will do that to you," he said.
"I know, but, I don't know who and would rather not take that chance."
Once they entered the kitchen they realized that there was no way they would be able to use it. A lot of the time people would eat at the different places around the hotel, but now that everyone was too hungover to even move, the hotel staff was not responsible for feeding them.
"Maybe we should have considered that factor," Marianne said as they closed back the door.
"Yeah," he scratched the back of his neck. "Well instead, we can find somewhere else to eat. It may not be as good as my food but it should do the job."
Marianne pouted. "How tragic. I was so looking forward to ogling you while you cooked."
Morgan laughed. "I'm sure there will be other times."
