Chapter 88 Apology
I couldn't help the smirk as I looked at the two skanks who looked like their entire world just got turned upside down. I don't know what kind of deal Rick had with the girls, but they didn't seem to think he'd even consider tossing them to the side. Did they really think they were better than us? I almost feel bad for them... but a small part of me... the dark vengeful part is absolutely elated to have them out of our home.
"You would really do that to us?" Anna growls, looking me up and down and finding me wanting. "After everything we've done fore you? After what we mean to each other?" she smirks at me with the last line.
I don't know what she's trying to get out of me, but I'm the one with the ring on my hand, so even if she was one of his one night stands, she means less than I do. Somehow I don't really think they mean as much to him as they think they do.
"You haven't done a damn thing any other girl could do for me. I've paid you for your services and treated you like every other employee. You are not my future wife or her sisters. This is MY house, and because Josie is MINE that makes it her house too... And likewise her younger sisters belong here more than you ever will," Rick stated.
I can see a storm of emotions going through their eyes, and whatever they were feeling, they seemed to both end up on resentment and jealousy. I want to face-palm myself. Just how long are they going to pull this argument out? None of it matters anyway, Rick already fired them. Now they are just being pathetic!
"What the hell does this slut have that we don't?" snarls Anna, standing tall and taking a brave step forward. Her hand on her hip, swaying her hips and sending him a seductive look that makes me want to punch her in her flawless face.
"Well, for one thing, she isn't a slut. She's still a virgin," Rick growls in frustration. "Don't you ever compare her to you! She has worked harder than you ever have, and she's done it to protect her family. What have you ever done, Anna? You sleep around to get to the top. You know nothing!"
Just then three men appear in black tactical outfits. All of them looked at the two girls with weary looks and Charlie still on the ground in Olivia's arms. I wonder if they have issues with the girls too? Honestly they don't look that surprised to be showing up.
They look up at me with nods and an apologetic smiles.. Like they know this isn't my fault.
"Josie, this is my security team; Grant, Brent and Sean. If you ever need their help, all you have to do is pick up a house phone and dial #3. Or I can put their numbers into your phones, just in case," he smiles at my sisters. "On second thought, I think I'll just add their numbers to your phones in case someone shows up."
One man stepped forward, hand extended to me. I shake his hand, I think it's the leader of the team? "Ms. Josie, it's nice to meet you. I'm Grant, head of security. I'll keep an eye out for you and your sisters," he gave a genuine smile.
"Thank you," I responded with a nod. I don't know why, but I feel safer knowing he's around, especially if Rick will be at work. I don't want random women showing up at the mansion looking for Rick and getting jealous when they run into me and my sisters.
The other two guards take the struggling girls, glaring at me like I'm the scum of the earth, by the arms and start leading them away. We sat there waiting until I heard a door shut and I finally exhaled a breath I didn't know I was holding.
"I'm sorry about them, Charlie," Rick says softly as he leans down to help my sister to her feet. The action is sweet, and it warms my heart.
"It's okay... I... didn't know they would be upset about a poster," she mumbled, looking uncomfortable.
"Didn't I tell you to make yourself comfortable? If this is what you want up, then that's where it goes. I'm happy you put it up, and I'm sure you are greater than average," he says with a wink.
Charlie blushes shyly. "Thank you," she whispers.
