Chapter 76 Making it Official
“Baby, it wasn’t what it looked like...” he whined.
And then Josie let him have it. Good girl! “Isn’t that the exact words you’d already told me when you said you were done with Britt? And didn’t you say and I quote ‘Baby please! Just one more chance! You won’t regret it!’? Well, guess what James? I REGRET IT! I regret ever giving you a second chance. I regret trusting you with my heart. I regret thinking you were mature enough to change! I regret every damn thing!”
When James saw he was in deep shit he started groveling and rationalizing and begging. Very unmanly of him, but I suppose if I was an asshole like him, I'd do the same thing. Good thing I'm not!
But by then I just couldn't stand there looking in the window like a fucking stalker that I am. I pushed through the door and went right up to her.
“Josie,” I articulate. I need to get his just right. “Tell me you are finally kicking this bastard to the side and coming home with me!” I demand. “Marry me, Josie.”
I could see the shock in her eyes. And I could also she was still pissed off at James just enough that it would push her over the edge. I didn't give a damn! If her being pissed meant she'd finally say yes, I'd kiss the ground James walked on as I kicked his ass down to hell.
"Yes, Rick. I'll marry you," Josie responds. I can see the mix of emotions going through her, and they all mattered. But the one that really got me was the small flicker of hope that this was in fact real and not just a show.
Something loosens deep inside me. She really said it. She has no idea how happy she made me. I want to carry her out in my arms and march straight to the nearest church and have us married right now. She's finally mine! And even if it was mostly for show, I don't care. I'm not letting her take back her words.
I'm not gonna cry, because I'm not a wuss like James, but damn it feels so good! I'm sure I have the silliest smiles on my face that has ever existed. I've never smiles so big in my life! But then, nothing has made me so full of joy in my life as that one word coming from her mouth!
I know she did it to piss James off! And right now I couldn't be prouder of her! I would've done the same thing, but the fact that she said yes and she's not dragging it on... Oh, I'm so happy! I swear I'm almost giddy! I've never had this many emotions flowing through me... And they are all positive! Damn! I love this! This is better than any high of any drug I've ever had.
I pull her into my arms and kiss her mouth. I take my time coaxing her to respond and parting her lips with my tongue, languidly sliding it across her lips and playing with her own tongue. She tastes so damn good right now. This isn't just a kiss. This is a possessive claim and she damn well knows it.
I growl as my girl leans into me and presses up on her little toes to get closer to me. I am absolutely in love with my little dancer. And the fact she's putting on a show for her ex has me thrilled!
"NO! JOSIE YOU STILL BELONG TO ME!" James screams behind us.
I don't pay any attention as I attack my woman's mouth with passion and possession. He can yell all the shit he wants. Josie is finally mine and I'm going to prove it to the world!
I pull away and look down at my little dancers flushed face. She is adorably dazed and excited. I want to memorize this look, and keep it in my memory forever.
"I forgot," I smirk, pulling out a little box I've had in my pocket for a month. I was a little overwhelmed that she actually agreed to this, and all I wanted to do was kiss the hell outta her. But now that my head is semi-clear, I remembered something very important. "It's time to make this official."
