Chapter 264 Stinging Truth
Liam snorts. "The whole thing? We ran into each other at an ice cream shop! How the hell is that a 'whole thing?' Besides, Ava wasn't invited. None of the girls wanted her around, she's bossy and irritating. Not to mention, Liv has the right to be around people she likes and if she's having a spat with her cousin, it would've been better if she stayed away. None of which is any of your damn business, by the way. She has a right to have a life!"
Brax turns his threatening gaze on Liam, but Liam just holds it. "What the fuck did you say?" He snarled quietly. "You think you have a right to talk about my girlfriend? She's fucking mine! And you can't touch her!" Brax ranted, making me sick.
But Liam just snarls back, clenching his fists on his desk like he's moments away from punching him in the jaw just to get him to shut the hell up.
"I said, maybe she's allowed to go wherever the hell she wants and not have you tagging along after her like a fucking puppy!" he growls.
Braxton roars in outrage. Seriously, who the hell does that?
I'm so fucking annoyed right now. Not at Liam. He's bringing up a good point. I should be allowed to go wherever I want to without being yelled at. I'm annoyed at Braxton!
"Brax, you are making a big deal out of nothing!" I grumble. "You are such an asshole sometimes! I was having a fun time with Kim and Court. You can ask them! We didn't plan on anything, we just ran into Liam and his friends, just like he said!" I huff, completely frustrated with the whole damn situation.
"The hell it's nothing! You were with him for hours, according to Ava!" he snarls. "You are only supposed to be with me! I told you, Liv. You are mine!"
"Braxton, you are a fucking idiot. We just happened to be in the same place. Ava was lying to you. None of this was planned. Just get over yourself!" Liam states. "Maybe it's time for you to think about leaving Liv and go for Ava if you believe the bitch over your won girlfriend!" He argues.
I blink at him, because what he just said made a helluva lot of sense. He should just go out with Ava and leave me the hell alone! Then I wouldn't end up in situations like this!
"You should've fucking LEFT!" Brax snarls at me, completely ignoring Liams statement. "You should've left and come back to me! I've been waiting for you! You shouldn't have gone to the fucking mall in the first place!"
"Why? We're friends! I'm allowed to have friends besides you and Ava, Brax! You are not the boss of me!" I grumble again.
"NO! YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE FRIENDS! I AM SUPPOED TO BE YOUR ONLY FRIEND! AND YOU DEFINITELY SHOULDN'T HAVE ANY OTHER BOYFRIENDS!" He thunders.
"The hell she isn't! You don't own her, Braxton! She is a human being, and she is allowed to be with people she wants to be with!" Liam raises his voice.
Braxton ignores Liam again and grabs me out of my desk shaking me in his arms. "I FUCKING OWN YOU!"
I think I'm going into shock, because all I can do is whimper and let tears fill my eyes. He's never been this aggressive to me before, and it's scaring the hell outta me.
Liam is up and out of his seat in an instant. "The fuck, man! Let her go! You're going to hurt her!"
I have to admit I'm panicking. Braxton has never gotten this physical before. I need a way to soothe is ego before something happens.
"Liam is right! Plus, it was a complete coincidence that we ended up together!" I whispered, too scared to raise my voice right now. "Just let me go!"
I know I said the wrong things the moment I see the look in his eyes.
It takes me a second to register the sting on my jaw from the slap across my face. My entire face burns and the tears start falling without my permission. I'm whimpering and trying to pull out of his grip, but it's too strong.
"Don't you ever fucking talk back to me again!" he whispers. "I've already told you, Livy, you belong to me. And that means you don't get to have a say in anything."
Just then Ms. Larson comes into the classroom and see us. "Mr. Davis, either take your seat, or head to the office. Mr. Andrews, will you please accompany Ms. Turner to the see the nurse and return?"
"It would be my pleasure," Laim states, wrapping a protective arm around me and pulling me away from Braxton. It's taking everything in me not to lean into Liam's touch, but I don't dare. Not with Braxton on our heels.
Maybe I should've listened to my sisters sooner. I just didn't think Braxton would ever hit me!
