Chapter 222 Chaos
"Axel said he was promised something and he wasn't leavening until he got it... I wonder who promised him?" I whisper. I'm not sure I really want to find the answer, but I guess that is what Grant is working on with Rick right now. I'm not sure what Sean and Brent are doing... Maybe a security search of the grounds.
"I've got a theory about that, but I don't know if I'm right," Trent growls, pulling me back into his arms. I sigh as I lean into him. His arms feel strong and safe, like nothing can get to me when I'm with him.
"What is it?" I blink at him.
"Well, Braxton was pissed at me for telling Olivia he'd been cheating on her, and he wanted to get his revenge... Which I'm guessing is having Axel brought here to hurt you," he growls. "Braxton is the type of guy he wouldn't go against rape as a type of payment. So, he was just having Axel come and collect his due."
That actually makes sense, unfortunately. The thought sickens me. That boy has something wrong with him. I don't know what his parents think about all of this, but I'm scared the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree.
Trent slowly rubs soothing circles on my back, and I lean into him. "I'm so sorry, baby. This might be my fault," he growls. "If I hadn't run my mouth about Braxton, this would've never happened."
I shake my head. "No, you were trying to protect Liv. This was Axel and Braxton's fault," I mumble into his shirt. I can feel the pounding of his heart against my cheek. Steady and fast. He's still upset.
"What the hell is going on?" Liv's voice echoes throughout the room. The noise startles us as we all turn to the new arrivals.
I pull apart from Trent just to see my little sister looking around with worry across her face. And just behind her is a smug looking Braxton. He knows damn well went down here.
And that's when I know that Trent was right about the whole situation. He planned this, the only thing he doesn't know is how it turned out. Too bad for him.
"Charlie was attacked," Josie states with a sniff. "By one of your boyfriend's friends," she practically growls.
"Oh, God!" Liv panics before rushing to me and giving me a hug. "Are you okay? I'm so sorry! I swear I didn't know! I would've come to you sooner..."
"I think so?" My voice is small, and I hate it. "I know you didn't know, Liv. You wouldn't have done something like that."
Braxton snorts from behind. "Don't listen to her, Livy. Your sister is just a fucking slut, and she got what was coming t-"
He couldn't even finish the sentence because he was on his back with a bloody lip. He looks completely stunned, and just a little bit afraid. I don't think Braxton is used to not being the biggest one in the room.
"Finish it," Trent snarls standing over him. "I dare you!"
Brax is a big guy, but Trent is bigger, and he also has something to fight for. Braxton is just a damn hot head who thinks he can get away with anything.
"You bastard," he snarls before tackling Trent to the ground.
I watch in panic as the boys' tussle on the ground. The chaos in my heart is matching the chaos the boys are causing on the ground. Punch after punch, neither one looks like they want to give up.
Liv is by my side; I can feel her trembling in my arms. "I'm sorry, I swear I didn't know this was going to happen. I should never have brought him back here!"
Josie is watching with her sharp eyes, but she's not calling her husband or the security team. She knows she doesn't have to. I guess she has faith in Trent right now.
Somehow, after about a minute, Braxton ends up on his back, and Trent is once again beating the shit out of him. Both boys are a mess, but Trent has always had the upper hand.
"You don't get to choose who deserves what, you fucking punk! But if you ever touch Charlie again, you won't be around long enough to see her get her happy ending!" He grows as he continues to rain hell on Braxton's body.
As someone who wants to be a doctor, I should probably stop this. But I don't. I want Braxton to finally get what he deserves. That might be hypocritical of me though.
When Braxton finally passes out at Trent's hand, he stops and stands up, just as Rick and the security team make their way into the room.
Rick looks down at Braxton and snorts. "He did it again, didn't he?"
"If you mean calling Charlie a slut, then yes," Josie growls. I swear she wants to go over there and kick the unconscious body.
Rick grunts. "Grant, you think you can take care of the kid? We need him locked up for a bit before we call the cops back."
Liv looks like she wants to argue but stops herself.
"Charlie, I'm sorry about that. I don't know why he's acting like such an ass," she mumbles looking depressed.
"Honey, he has always been an ass. You really need to cut him loose. You would be so much happier without him," I whisper into her ear.
Of course, I know she won't. She's stubborn like that. I just wish I knew why.
