Chapter 220 Frozen
"No way in hell!" he smirked, then he started reaching for my leggings. "You were promised to me, and I intend to get everything promised."
I squirmed away from his touch. What the hell does he mean I was promised to him? Who the hell promised him he could have me? No one has the right to promise anyone anything but me!
"STOP!" I scream, full on panicking. I'm not ashamed to note that I was crying.
"I know you want this baby," Axel snarls, grinding his hardness against my ass. "I'm going to ruin this little pussy of yours," he moans as he tries to push my leggings down my hips.
"STOP! PLEASE!" I scream in terror. "DON'T DO THIS! LEAVE ME ALONE!"
Just then the door flies open and his body was ripped away from me.
I watch in awe as Trent slams the guy against the opposite wall and punches him in the gut, brings his head to his knee smashing his nose and kicking him between the legs, all in quick succession.
Axel groans in pain and starts spitting out blood as he looks up at Trent in dread. I guess he didn't expect to be caught. He really should've thought about his consequences before agreeing to do something stupid like this.
I'm still frozen, facing the mirror, watching all of this go down because my muscles refuse to release their hold on me. I don't understand why my body decides to play possum when I really should be running the other way.
Then Trent tosses him out of the room. I hear Axel grunt from the ground, but he doesn't seem to be getting up.
"RICK! GRANT! UP HERE!" He called down the hallway before rushing to take off his shirt and throwing it over my nakedness.
He doesn't think twice, he just pulls me into his arms and holds me. I sink into his embrace wishing like hell I could go back a half hour and change what happened. "I should've listened to you," I weep into his tee shirt. "I'm sorry..."
I can't stop the sob that cracks through my ribs.
"Shh, baby. Charlie, don't you dare say you were sorry. You were supposed to be safe in this house. You did nothing wrong," Trent coos in my ear.
"I... I didn't know... he followed me..." I mumble, finally able to wrap my arms around his waist, holding him to me. I need something to hold onto or I'll fall apart.
"I've got you. I told you if you weren't back in 5 minutes, I was coming for you. I wasn't lying. At 5 minutes I went to find Rick, and he didn't know where you were. The security has been looking for you for the last 10 minutes!" he whispers, nuzzling the top of my head and rubbing soothing circles on my back.
"They have?" I mumble against his chest. I didn't even realize I'd been gone that long! It all seemed to happen so fast...
"Yep. The minute we couldn't find you, Rick sent everyone packing. Only family and close friends are here right now," he promises, placing a sweet kiss at my hairline.
I hear a grunt outside the door and see Grant 'accidently' tripping on Axel.
"Guess what kid! You're comin' with me. Then we'll be calling the cops and your parents. We'll talking to them about the little stunt you pulled. See how funny they think it is," Grant growls as he hauls him up off the ground.
"Charlie?" Rick asks softly from the partially closed door. "Are you okay, sweetheart? Josie is panicking right now. I'm so damn sorry. We didn't know!"
Suddenly Trent freezes in my arms.
"What is it?" I whisper, but he isn't looking at me, he's looking at something in the mirror, then he turns behind him and glares.
"Rick? What the fuck is that?!" he demands looking at a small black object with a blinking green light on.
Rick steps fully into the bathroom and curses as he rips it off the wall. "It's a fucking camera. Looks like short range, but it's transmitting to somewhere," he growls.
And then the light stops.
Rick looks half heartbroken, half pissed. "I'm so sorry, Charlie. I'm going to find out where the hell this came from and get to the bottom of this," he promises.
Then he stomps out, following the path Grant had taken Axel. I can hear him on the phone, but I'm not sure what he's saying because I'm too much of a mess.
"Angel?" Trent's voice is soft and gentle. "Talk to me, sweetheart."
"Trent... I just... froze!" I moan. "I didn't do anything but scream!"
Trent pulls away just enough to look down at me. "Listen to me, Charlie. The fact you were able to scream and move at all is a miracle. You could've completely locked up, but you didn't. You fought back the only way you could. That bastard is bigger than you. No one expects you to take him on... That's what you've got me for," he finishes with a soft smile.
