Chapter 59

In a quiet area, away from the noise of people laughing and talking, music and the clink of glasses, Jaxson gathered up Charlotte close to him and kissed her until they were both breathless. Leaning down, he kissed down her neck to where her shoulder met her neck. Knowing that it was very sensitive, he nipped it. Charlotte moaned low in her throat and gasped when he nipped her.

"Oh my god! What did you do?"

"That's where your mark will go. Feel how sensitive you are there." Jaxson kissed her ear and nipped her earlobe, causing his little mate to shiver. "I just wanted you to know what it will feel like tomorrow when I mark you in front of everyone. I promise, when my bear's canine's pierce your shoulder. Are you ready for it?"

Charlotte was so tied up in her desire all she could do was moan and shake. Jaxson gently tried to bring her back to earth by gently stroking her back and her arms, even though they were still wrapped around his neck.

"Better?" Charlotte nodded and took a deep shuddering breath. Lowering her arms, she turned and leaned back against her husband, while the evidence of his desire for her subsided enough for them to walk around and mingle with their guests.

The guests were a who's who of the shifter world. Alphas from all over the world. She could hear conversations in French, Spanish, German, and several of other languages. Walking around and checking on their guests, Charlotte yawned. Amber, who was with her sister-in-law by marriage, but they had declared they were sisters, regardless, noticed the yawn and released one herself.

"It's late, I'm tired and I'm going to get Rio and go in the house and let him take me to bed." Smiling she waved at her sister and went to get her husband.

Deciding that she was of the same mind, Charlotte looked around and realized that the guests had already started to leave. Making a decision, she looked around until her gaze landed on her new father and mother. Striding over to them, she whispered something in Miney's ear. To which, the woman smiled down at her and then let her eyes search for her new husband. She located him, watching her with an intensity that caused a shiver to run through her.

Seeing her yawn, Jaxson smiled and excused himself from the conversation he was having with another Alpha.

The Alpha smiled, understanding the younger man's reason, having seen the direction of his gaze.

Walking up to her, he leaned down to kiss her and then guided them up to the stage where the microphones were still standing and picked one up. Tapping on the end to make sure that it was on, he put it up to his mouth to make his announcement.

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen. Charlotte and I would like to thank you for coming today and sharing this wonderful memory with my family and I. And we invite you to return tomorrow for a very special ceremony tomorrow for myself and my brother. However, it is getting late and my bride is starting to yawn. So, without any hesitation, Charlotte and I bid you goodnight."

Once he finished his short speech, Jaxson tossed the microphone onto the stage and turned to Charlotte. Expecting him to take her hand and lead her out of the reception. But. He. Didn't.

Jaxson bent low and picked up his bride and slung her over his shoulder.

Several of the Alpha's, his dad, Graeham, Hunter, Caleb and several other males smiled. As Jaxson walked by his dad, he saluted him.

Anders just chuckled, while Miney blushed and smiled.

In the darkness, he watched, disgusted, that any human woman who willingly tie herself to one of these animals.

Thinking back to the conversation that he had with Liam, he grinned. Liam had promised him his choice of females. He wanted the agent. He remembered when he had tasted her mother and never got to have the daughter. That would change very soon. He had been promised her. But, she had escaped him.

Fading back into the darkness, he would gleefully watch this world crumble when Liam exposed them to the entire world on national television. Their demise would be televised.

He blended back into the shadows so that he could blend in.

Graeham, Caleb, Hunter and Anders were out in the backyard, in the dark. not light gave them away. One of them spoke. "Do we have eyes on the spy?"

"We do. We have even managed to intercept the messages from Liam." Someone replied.

"How will we stop him and Liam tomorrow.?"

"That was taken care of. We have a plant that he has confided in and thinks is one of them."

"We will capture him tomorrow, just before the ceremony. What Charlotte doesn't know is that this will also be her Luna ceremony."

"Will Jaxson's mark release her wolf?"

"We aren't sure. She won't go into heat until after the cub is born. We'll know then."

By silent agreement, the men faded away into the darkness and made their way back into the Alpha house before their absence was noticed.

Morning dawned in the Alpha house with an air of celebration and happiness. The entire town was excited. They would have a ruling Alpha for the first time in two years. And the Alpha would have a Beta. The Gamma and his mate were at the house getting everything ready. Also at the Alpha house were the members that were asked to wear a loin cloth and shift at the ceremony.

The "reveal" was sure to be a media circus. By prior arrangement, Diane and Jasper were going to be covering the ceremonies from the ruling family's perspective. Everything was laid out for her and Jasper to "break" the news to the world.

Rio, having been a deep cover agent, wasn't looking forward to it. Neither was Amber. She would never be able to work undercover. However, Nathan had suggested that she be the liaison for the shifter world to the world governments. Even Rio had agreed that it was a great idea.

Nathan had shown up the previous day. Just in time to see Jaxson and Charlotte have their first dance together. There had been an elegant woman with him, whom Misty and Amber knew to be his wife. When she had been brought up to speed on things, she had merely smiled and replied, "Of course."

Everyone was seated around the dining room table enjoying a light breakfast of a roasted vegetable and cheese frittata and toast. For the Luna, Jamie had whipped honey and added crushed berries to help ease her stomach. It might be too soon for a human carrying a human child. But, word had gotten around that the Luna just might be a shifter and that she was carrying an Alpha cub. Every servant wanted to be the one taking care of her. But she refused to pick one. Instead, relying on Jamie to supply her with the most reliable caretakers.

"Luna, your breakfast. Miss Jamie sent you two poached eggs with your toast and a glass of orange juice." The young girl brought her a plate and set it down in front of her and poured the juice.

"Thank you, Miranda. Please tell Jamie that I am very appreciative. The cub has started acting up this morning." Charlotte replied, smiling.

Jaxson leaned in and spread the berry infused whipped honey on his mate's toast. He poured her a cup of coffee and smiled. Charlotte without coffee was not a pleasant thing.

Since today was very special to them, everyone had been allowed to sleep in. Except the people getting the ceremonies ready. They would take place in the center of town, where a large town square had a grassy area with an open-air stage. The brothers would be standing on the stage for the reveal. Charlotte and Amber would be present with them and when they shifted, would sit astride their mate to help demonstrate the safety of the shifters to humans. Notwithstanding the initial panic that will take place.

The media was gathering. The granddaughter of Graeham Dylan Frazier was newsworthy.

True to her word, Charlotte allowed no member of the Council in the Alpha house and she only allowed family members and a few friends. It had certainly caused a stir with some of the more entitled members. The head of the Council had tried to force his way in. Charlotte had been prepared and had immediately pointed a pistol at them. Having her security at her back also helped. Hunter, Rio and Bill had stood with her and stated that it was her right as Luna to invite and or deny entrance into her home.

"You are not my ruler. Since I didn't know I was a shifter until a few days ago, I never knew about the Council and I do not recognize your authority. You will either stay at the motel in town or stay in Knoxville and helicopter or drive up for the ceremony. Either way, I really don't care." Then shut the door in his face, ending his sputtering and ranting.
