Chapter 57
The day of the wedding dawned bright and sunny. Jaxson had been moved to his brother's suite and Amber had been moved to his suite, so that the women could get ready together. Agnes and Miney were there with them helping them to get ready for their big day. They women were surrounded by makeup artists, hair stylists and even Madame Collette in case any last minute alterations were required.
Watching all of this, Agnes began to realize just what type of world she was entering into. She had not given it much thought, because even though she knew that everyone was ridiculously wealthy, they had all been so down to earth and 'normal' that she easily overlooked it. She felt a bit panicked. Graeham was so far above her that it was like a chihuahua being with a wolf. She didn't really belong with these women. Yet, they had accepted her into their tight circle of friendship. They had opened up their world and included her and while she knew that initially this wasn't where she had belonged, she knew beyond any doubt that eventually, this would be her world too. Her relationship with Graeham was growing and deepening. He had already made his intentions known. She was ready to accept him and step into his world.
"What are you over there smiling so big about, Agnes?" Charlotte asked her, smiling. It was hard not to smile. Agnes's smile was contagious.
"Your grandfather. I think I am ready and confident enough to finally step into his world with him. To be whatever he needs or wants me to be."
Charlotte squealed and jumped up and went to hug the other woman. "Ohh!!! I'm so glad! I'm so happy for you!!" She knew that her grandfather cared deeply about this woman and he wasn't afraid to let anyone who cared to ask know about it, either. Charlotte knew that as enough Agnes and her grandfather would be having their own wedding.
"Charlotte, my dear, you need to come sit back down and the the ladies finish with your hair and makeup. Before you know it, it will be time for your and Amber's wedding.
Charlotte nodded and went to sit back down at the lighted vanity where her two stylists were waiting. Both had an indulgent look on their face. After all, who doesn't love love? Taking a deep breath, she leaned back and let the ladies do their thing. Neither woman was able to see what the other looked like because they were so focused on what their individual stylists were doing. Miney and Agnes had taken lots of photos on their cell phones. Some they had sent to Graeham and Anders. Some they kept for sharing later on social media. Miney had created a whole page about the wedding and would likely post them there when it was all over. Of course, they also had a professional photographer taking photos. He had come and taken some photos of the brides and their stylists, as well as Miney and Agnes, since they were the 'Matron of Honor and the Bridesmaid' in both weddings. It had been decided at the last minute that the two would be combined to save on confusion and cut the time down somewhat. There had been no arguing from the men, because it had meant less time in tuxedoes and it had been the women who had suggested it.
Before the final touches were put on and the veils attached to their hair, the two brides wanted a photo of all four of them together. It was decided that Miney and Agnes would be in the center and that Charlotte and Amber would be on the outside. They were all smiling and arm in arm with each other. Then the wedding planner came into the suite and said, "Ladies! It's time for everyone to get into their places."
Miney and Agnes went downstairs to gather at the entrance. It had been decided that Hunter and Bill would act as groomsmen and best man, alternately. But, Bill would escort Miney and Hunter would escort Agnes down the aisle with Hunter being Jaxson's best man and Bill being Rio's.
Graeham looked at his woman, and thought about their future together. When all of this was over, he had determined that he would marry her. But, as he had decided this, his granddaughter and her Beta female were coming down the stairs. Gasping in surprise, Graeham knew that his granddaughter was a beautiful young woman, but the vision that seemed to float down the stairs was ethereal in her beauty.
Stepping down on the last stair, Charlotte looked up at her grandfather, and smiled. 'Are you ready to 'give' me away, Granddad?"
"Yes, I am. I wish your grandmother could see what a beautiful young woman that you have grown into. She would be so proud. I think she would love Jaxson, too. I also believe that if she could have picked a sister for you, amber would have been her choice." Smiling at her, he offered her his crooked arm together they stood behind the other two couples. Then, Amber stepped behind them, taking Anders's outstretched hand. Once taken, he placed her hand in the crook of his arm.
Jaxson and Rio stood on the right side of the platform where they would be married. Both felt incredibly nervous, but neither showed it. all of the wedding guests saw were two large and powerfully built men standing and waiting for their brides to be delivered to them. When the music started, they stood a bit straighter and taller. When the ushers opened the doors and their mother and Bill exited the Alpha house into the backyard, the guests stood. As the music played, and Miney and Bill, took their places, Agnes and Hunter exited the Alpha house. Just as they reached their positions by the Bridal side and the Groom's side, the wedding march began. Everyone turned as Amber came out first on her dad's arm. He escorted her down to Rio and placed her hand in his sons., Moving to stand to the side, the wedding began again and Charlotte came into view on Graeham's arm. Jaxson thought he was looking at an angel. She had always been beautiful, but today, she was radiant. All eyes were on the two women whose presence demanded the attention of all of the guests.
Collectively, the two grooms thought that these were the most beautiful women in the world. They radiated beauty from the inside and that seemed to make them even more beautiful. The genuine joy and happiness that everyone felt coming from the two women was powerful and seemed to pour from them both as the minister stepped forward and asked, "Who gives these women to these men?"
Anders and Graeham stepped forward and together they said, "We do."
Having acknowledged their role, they went to sit with their significant others.
The women were standing side by side and across from the brothers. Grasping hands, the couples face each other as the minister begins the wedding announcing their love and the purpose of the vows and the significance of them. Looking out at the gathered guests, the minister made the announcement, "If anyone can show just cause why these couples should not be joined, speak now or forever hold your peace." He allowed roughly thirty seconds for someone to voice their objections. When no one did, he continued with the ceremony.
"By the exchanging of vows you announce to the world that you are pledging your loyalty to each. By the exchanging of rings, you recognize the unending love that you have for each other." When the minister said this, Bill and Hunter stepped up to give each brother their brides' rings. To Jaxson, Hunter handed a beautifully and delicately braided white, yellow and rose gold band. Bill handed Rio a ring that at first glance was simple, then on second glance it was engraved with roses and ivy. The band itself was yellow gold and the fine details of the engraving were filled with white gold for the ivy and the rose was filled with rose gold.
Both women, seeing their rings, gasped. But they, in turn, reached for their men's rings. It was decided that each would have claw marks engraved on them and the clan emblem of a butterfly to symbolized not just freedom, but change, transformation.
The minister began to speak. "Rio, do you take Amber, to be your lawful wedded wife? To have and to hold, from this day forward, forsaking all others for her?"
Rio had to swallow due to the dryness in his throat before he could speak. "I do."
"Amber, do you take Rio, to be your lawful husband? To have and to hold, from this day forward, forsaking all others for him?"
Amber struggled to answer through her tears, "I do."
The minister continues to Jaxson and Charlotte. At the final I do spoken by Charlotte, each couple exchanged their rings When the men lifted their brides' veils, they used their thumbs and wiped the women's tears.
"You may kiss your bride." The minister said.
"Thank God!" "Bout time!"
While the guests laughed, the two brothers leaned down to kiss their brides, giving them the sweetest kiss they ever had.
The minister broke them apart by loudly clearing his throat. Smiling at each couple, he quietly asked that they turn to face the congregation of guests so that he could introduce them.
"Ladies and gentlemen, may I present you with the brothers Bjorn and their wives, Amber and Charlotte."
People stood and applauded, until the minister made a motion for everyone to quiet. When they did, he said, "Everyone please line up off the side where the buffet line will form. Parents, please keep your children ages ten and under with you. Unattended children will be publicly reprimanded and then handed back to their parents. All Elderly and or disabled will be served first." After making his announcement, the minister nodded to the crowd and stepped away.
While people were getting in line to be fed, the photographers were busy taking pictures of the wedding group, both separately and together. Each couple had their photos taken. Misty had joined Bill and Hunter had had his picture taken with his men.
After the photographer was finished, both couples were lead to their personal table, where each was given a plate of food that had been fixed with a bit of everything. The two males, because they were shifters, were given two plates. One of which was piled high with steak and ribs.
Both women laughed the the looks on their new husbands' faces. They look like kids in a candy store.
They had just finished eating when the wedding planner that it was time to cut their cakes.
The two cakes were definitely beautiful and Charlotte thought it was almost a shame to cut them. But they did and then the women did the shove the cake in your husband's mouth bit. Of course, everyone laughed.
This is what Jaxson and Rio wanted. They wanted people to enjoy themselves and relax.
