Chapter 39 The wrong face

Chapter 39 The wrong face

Alexander.

"Alex..." I kissed her hungrily swallowing her words down my throat. My hands find her clothes peeling them off her before the door of my study clicked shut behind us.

Roxy gasped against my mouth, stumbling backward until her spine hit the desk. I didn't care that we were in my office neither did I care that Walter was probably somewhere in the penthouse pretending not to hear.

I needed this badly, I needed to burn off whatever the hell was crawling under my skin. The unusual insatiable want for sex.

I had called her earlier on my drive back to my private penthouse, ordering her to come over immediately and she didn't ask any questions. She never did, because that was the arrangement.

Her dress hit the floor and my shirt followed, I unbuckled my belt hurriedly tossing it away and then she took the chance to pull down my pants and my cock sprang out heavy and veined, the tip glistening with precum that made her drool in anticipation.

I lifted her immediately onto the desk, scattering some works papers, and she wrapped her legs around me with ease.

This should work, it has to work.

Because if it doesn't, I don't know what the hell I'm supposed to do with this feeling clawing through my chest.

I plunged inside her roughly, right there against the desk, her legs wrapped around my waist tightly, her nails digging into my shoulders.

But all I could focus on is trying to erase the memory of that darned seductress, Dandelion.

Three rounds later with Roxy, I was still hard, still restless and still unsatisfied in a way that had nothing to do with my body. And Roxy's breath came in fast gasps beneath me, her hair messy with her lipstick smeared by her cheeks.

"Alex, please....," she panted, pushing weakly at my chest as I banged her mercilessly. "I can't hold on... I need a break..."

But I barely heard her.

Because every time I closed my eyes, I kept seeing her.

Not Roxy. But Dandelion. The way herr body looked in that red silky nightgown.

It made me furious, and it made me harder.

I gripped Roxy's hips tighter, thrusting deeper, rougher, chasing something I couldn't name.

She cried out, her body arching, another orgasm ripping through her even as she begged me to slow down.

But I couldn't. Not until I got rid of that image of dandy that had taken root in my head.

By the fourth round, Roxy went limp beneath me, her eyes half closed, her body trembling.

I finally stopped and pulled out Stepping back.

My chest heaved. Sweat dripped down my spine.

But I still wasn't satisfied.
What the hell is wrong with me? It should've been enough. It always had been before.

But tonight, something was wrong. And it's all Dandelion's fault.

I suddenly felt a pang of guilt,
What the hell am I doing?
I turned away from her, breathing hard, my mind in a mess of frustration and self loathing.

"Alex are you okay?" Roxy asks, sitting up slowly.

"I'm fine." I muttered pulling on my pants.

"You don't look fine." She insisted reaching out to touch me, but I moved away immediately as if her touch would burn my skin.

"Talk to me. What's going on?"

"I said it's nothing." I repeated firmly I grabbed my shirt from the floor, yanking it on without looking at her.

"Bullshit." Her voice hardens. "You just fucked me hard four times like you were trying to prove something, and yet you're still harder than a spring. So either you took some kind of drug, or--" She pauses, her eyes narrowing. "Or you're thinking about someone else?."

My jaw clenched.

She suddenly laughs, but not with humor just a bitter laugh.
"It's her, isn't it?."

I froze, "Who?"

"Your new WIFE." She spat the word like venom. "The fake one."

My blood went cold. "How do you know about that?"

She shrugged, adjusting her hair. "Does it matter? Word gets around somehow. And honestly, Alex I don't understand. If you needed a fake wife so badly, why didn't you just ask me? I would've done it happily you know."

"Why her?" She continued standing to adjust her dress with sharp, angry movements. "What does she have that I don't? I've been with you for years, Alex. Years. And you never looked at me the way you look at her."

"This isn't about you."I muttered ignoring her tantrums.

"No, it's about HER." She steps closer, her voice rising. "Did you fall in love with her? Is that what this is?"

I glared hard at her, why did she have to mention that forbidden word. But I didn't answer her, because I don't even know what to say.

All I know is that nothing feels right anymore. I spent four rounds with Roxy and still ended up thinking about that blue eyes and dark haired woman.

"Answer me Alexander " She insisted seeing that I ignored her question.

I sighed in frustration, "No, Roxy now will you stop bugging me."

"Liar." She snapped, then she exhaled and stepped closer, trailing a finger on my exposed chest . "You know, if you just admitted it, we could make this official and date for real. I wouldn't mind being your girlfriend, Alex. I won't disturb your fake marriage, I already love you anyway."

My hand shot out, gripping her wrist hard enough to make her wince.

"Don't." My voice was ice. "Don't say that word again."

She yanked her hand back, her smile fading. "Why? Because of her?"

I stared at her, anger coiling tight in my gut. "That's none of your business."

"Isn't it?" Her eyes flashed. "I've been in your bed for years. I've been loyal and always discreet, always available whenever you wanted. And you couldn't even consider me for something as simple as a contract marriage?"

"This conversation is over." I turned toward the door. "You should leave now."

Her eyes widened in surprise and disbelief.

"But-- it's late," she protested, her voice rising. "You can't seriously expect me to go home now."

"Walter will drive you home."

"Alex--"

"LEAVE now Roxy" I repeated, my tone leaving no room for argument.

Her face twisted, anger and hurt raging in her expression. But she knew better than to push.

She grabbed her purse angrily and stormed toward the door.

She suddenly paused by the door, glancing back. "You're going to regret this."

"Don't you ever threaten me again Roxy, that's a threat," I retorted back in a low tone dangerously glaring hard at her

She stormed out slamming the door behind her.

I stood there for a long moment, staring at the empty room, my fists clenched at my sides.

Then I drove my fist into the marble desk, the plaster cracked instantly.

But it didn't help, nothing helped.

Because no matter what I did to burn her out of my
system, I still saw her face.

Not Roxy's, but Dandy's.

"Why?" I asked the empty room, gripping my hair hard in frustration. "Why her?"
