Chapter 291

Chapter 291
"Do you think Amber is still alive?" Jen looked around.

"Alpha Tyler shot her, and from what I hear, that man is a hella of a shot. He probably has her bleeding out. She deserves it for all her crimes against our kind and humans. Sick people like her need death." The last nurse ran off, and Jen sulked behind. She slammed the carts shut and growled.

"I let her out for a reason, not to go after the idiots," she muttered as she cleaned up her station. I mind-link Dad to grab Jen the nurse because she let Amber free to hurt us, and I walk back to my family. Stepping in, both are sleeping, and I smile.

Sarah's POV

I sit in this bed, fuming that I shut down at the sight of the pets. I couldn't handle seeing them hurt and scared. I heard Tgeo but wouldn't answer him. I'm a good actor. Amber is shot and, from the rumors, dying, and this pack isn't doing shit to help her.

I close my eyes and try to sleep when I hear Jen, the nurse. I paid to let my mom out scream.

"I was paid by Sarah Franklin to let her go, I swear!!" she screams again. I keep my eyes closed as someone enters my room, and I feel them staring at me.

"She is in shock, Alpha Tyler," Doc says softly, "I sedated her. Theo said to watch her close, but it could be a trick. I want to roll my eyes, but I don't. I just pretend I'm sleeping so I can sneak out later. I need to run and cut my losses.

"She needs to die with her cunt of a mother. She paid Jen to release that bitch, and she shot James and almost hurt Natalie. I'm putting a guard on her room." He walks out, and I turn my back to the door.

"Sarah, I hear my adoptive mom, baby. How could you do this?" she cries, and I feel awful.

"Come on, honey, you need rest. We can't help her anymore. She went against our pack and our alphas. She will most likely die. We did our best, baby. We need to go home," she sobbed as he led her out, and I felt my heart break. I hurt the only parents who ever loved me, and all for a woman who hates her pups.

As their footsteps faded, tears fell until I fell asleep for real. I woke to the moon goddess looking at me sadly.

"You ruined the best gift you ever had," she spoke softly.

"I know, but I always felt like something was missing in my life, moon goddess, and the Franklins couldn't fill that void," she sighed sadly.

"They will probably kill you with Amber, and when you both come here, I'm not letting you be reborn." I nod, knowing my fate is going to be bad either way.

"I understand." I go back to my body and keep my eyes closed as another person steps into my room.

"Sarah," I hear Emma say, "I know you're faking sleep. "Sit up and speak to me," she orders, so I fake a yawn and open my eyes. She looks sad as she pulls up a seat.

"You shouldn't be here," I speak low.

"I can go to bat for you, but you have to be willing to change. You saw the sickness your birth mother has. Why go down that route?" she asks.

"I have nothing left to live for, Emma. Savage doesn't forgive traitors. I know death awaits me. I spent my whole life knowing something was missing. My mother is evil, but she is my mother. I guess whatever happens will happen," I laugh back, accepting it.

I frown as she tears up.
