Chapter 289
"There is no way I only gave Sarah the directions." She stiffens as I smile.
"Spy cameras are so worth the money we spent on them. "You're out of options, Amber," she glares at us and raises the gun.
"I will just take you all out then. They will get tired of you, Natalie, and when they do, you will be on the streets selling that ass," I growl.
"These men are my mates, Amber, and unlike you, I'm faithful; they only want me. You're nothing but an abusive piece of shit that popped out kids to sell when the opportunity arose. "You will die, Amber, and nobody will miss you at all," Amber screamed loudly and fired.
I took Natalie to the floor, and James went down with us. Another gunshot went off, and Amber crumbled to the floor gasping for air. My dad stood behind her gun smoking as he took in the scene. I cradled Natalie as she sobbed. Dad turned James over and hissed he was hit in the shoulder.
"You are okay, son," he applied pressure as warriors busted in. Dad talked to James as others helped us up. Natalie looked terrified as she looked at James bleeding badly.
"James," she sobbed.
"Theo, maybe take her to your room, son." Dad looked at her with worry.
"No, please let me stay," she begged. A warrior brought a chair over, and I sat her down.
"Don't move, angel." I kissed her forehead. Doc was looking at James, and I hoped it wasn't as bad as it looked. He blocked us from getting shot, and I'm thankful to him but also pissed.
"It went through and through, Alpha," Doc spoke softly. I glanced at Natalie and watched as a warrior handed her water. She sniffles as he hands over tissues as well.
"Do you need a blanket, Luna?" he asked as she shivered.
"Please," she wipes at her face, trying to be strong.
"I'm okay, darling." James looked at her, and she tried to smile but sobbed instead. He tried to get up, but we held him down. "James, please don't move," her voice choked out. "Please just stay still for me." He watched her breakdown and lay there for her. "Here, Luna." The warriors brought in a blanket, and she stood up slowly on shaky legs. A warrior wrapped it around her and eased her to sit. I sighed as he knelt down and handed over her pain pill bottle.
"Thank you so much," she smiled, but tears still fell.
"Is she dead?" Doc pointed to Amber, who still hadn't moved from her spot on the floor. A huge pool of blood was under her.
"I fucking hope so; that bitch is done ruining shit," I grit out. I watched the doctor help James and go to Natalie to check her out.
"Here, angel, take a pain pill." I offer her two. She sniffles but listens, and I kiss her head. Amber's body is taken away, and Kames is moved to the hospital. I carry Natalie, following behind him, hoping it is just an in-and-out shot.
"Will he be okay, Theo?" her voice shakes.
"Should be, baby, but Doc will run a test to be sure." I kiss her head. At the hospital, Sarah sits cuffed while the prisoners get looked at. She looks terrified as she watches.
When Amber's body is brought in, we watch Sarah go extremely pale as tears fall. I just shake my head and follow after James. "He will require stitches and therapy for his shoulder, but other than that, he is fine," Doc reassures us. Natalie starts crying and hugs him, making his eyes widen in surprise.
"Thank you, Doc," she blubbers, and he pats her awkwardly.
"No problem, Luna. Are you hurting?" She shrugs, and I know right then she is. I ease her into my arms and look at her. "Where?" is all I ask.
"My vagina hurts, but I did just have two pups, so there is that. My hip hurts from hitting the floor," she blurts out, and I stiffen. "Angel," she hugs me tight and whimpers.
"Stop, you protected me, Theo, so don't worry. I'm just sore and scared, but I will be fine." She hugs me, and I melt. I kiss her head as James sleeps, and we keep watch.
I just hope this is it, and we get to enjoy life now.
