Chapter 226
Nick's POV
When Theo mind-linked us, a man was trying to take Lena. I lost my shit. I tackled Jan, making her head bounce off the ground and her go unconscious instantly. Warriors cuffed her and gagged her because she loved running her mouth. Patrick and I hauled ass to the hospital. Once closer to the room that held our girl, we heard this piece of shit running his mouth.
"Hand over my pussy," he says gruffly, and I growl viciously.
"She is a taken mate. "You can't have her," Patrick growls. He smirked and called us dogs, setting me off more. Tyler stalks up, dragging Jan, who is glaring at us all. She looks at Lena coldly, and I growl in warning.
"I paid for her, so hand over my property," he orders. I'm about to shift as Patrick pushes him back and enters the room. When he sees her gone, his wolf takes over, and he leaps for the man. James has taken Lena out another door to a room, calming her down. Jack is in there, so I know he won't let anyone touch her.
"Alpha men are breaching the border!" A warrior yells out.
"Kill them all!!" he yells, and we start fighting. Kan is held by a guard, and she struggles to run. Megan is lying over her dad, crying for him to wake up. Theo has joined the fight, and I'm damn impressed he is as brutal as his dad. The man runs his mouth as he fights Patrick, who is extremely pissed. Any insult about Lena makes him hit harder and fight faster.
"Get my property!" The man yells to some of his men.
"Kill them all!!" Tyler yells, and we manage to push them back. I'm angry they got this close, but at least we can kill them. Jan manages to get her gag off and starts yelling.
"Megan, come help me now!!!" I huff, hearing her voice.
"Fuck off, bitch!!" Megan yells back. I am fighting a man off when Lena screams. I rush towards her scream and see a man trying to yank her away. James is on the ground bleeding badly but fighting to get up. He kicks the guy's legs, and Lena falls, but James rolls, catching her and rolling away, putting her behind him.
"Give up, dog," the man smirks. "She is paid for. Hand her over, and I may let you live." I growl viciously as I step in the room. "Back off, fucker! "My mate is going nowhere with you sick fucks!" I yell, and he smirks.
"Nick," my girl sobs as she lies behind James, holding his wound closed. He looks awful but stays alert. Theo rushes in and growls at his best friend, who is bleeding badly.
"Fuck, brother, he kneels in front of him; you look a little rough, man," he teases. James coughs and hisses in pain.
"Yeah, I feel a little rough," James chuckles, "just a little though, but I got this beauty holding my wounds closed." I feel worried as I exchange punches with this fucker. Lena continues crying as she whimpers James's name.
"James, please be okay," she sobs, and he turns to face her. He hugs her, and I watch him go more pale.
"Don't cry, sis. I'm okay...or I will be. Just stay here till we beat these fuckers," she sniffles and hugs him tight. Theo stands guard as I fight off the man, and Jack works his way to James and Lena.
"James, ease him back; let me have her now, son. You did your job. Theo will take you to get help." He looks at James with concern.
"I can't leave her, beta. I promised to stay with her. She needs me," he coughs, and blood comes out.
Fuck, this isn't good.
"No, please," Lena cries in anguish, James. Please go get help. I'm fine," she begs. He groans as he coughs, and more blood sprays out. Jack turns him to his side as Doc and the nursing staff fight their way in with a bed. James is lifted, and they rush off. Theo backs up and lifts Lena into his arms before backing into the far corner with her. She sobs in his neck, and he purrs as he watches us fight.
"Kill him, Nick," Jack orders as I kick the man in the gut. He flies into the wall in the hallway, and I step out following. He grunts as he struggles to get up. Blood runs down his chin as he spits at me.
