Chapter 37 The Tactics

Chapter 37 The Tactics
“Do you have something you want to say to me?” Red asked.
“Good. At least you didn’t waste our time looking for you,” the big man said with a grin.
“Oh, I’m famous enough that you had to track me down? Unbelievable.” Red smiled sarcastically.
The big man let out a small chuckle. “Give us that weapon. In your hands, it’s just a useless piece of junk.”
Red stood there half bent over, enduring the pain shooting through her injured arm as she faced the group in front of her.
Honestly, she was scared, but she couldn’t run anymore. The only thing left to do was face greedy people like that man and his group. Still, a small spark of courage slowly appeared inside Red’s chest. She had to face all of this. She had to save her sister and everyone still alive on Earth.
Call once told Red that any man would flinch if they ever stood in front of Red and Ursula. So why was she still afraid? Death could come for her at any moment anyway.
“What weapon?” Red asked again.
“The robot,” the big man replied while pointing at Ursula.
“Her name is Ursula.” Red’s eyes immediately widened with anger.
She was getting more and more irritated, having to repeat Ursula’s name over and over because people only saw her as a robot. Ursula was special. There was a human heart implanted inside her, even if Red still didn’t know whose heart it was.
So if Jeremiah had named her Ursula, then she deserved that name.
The big man grinned. “Man, that’s way too good a name for such an ugly robot.”
“Then go find yourself another robot,” Red shot back immediately. “Because she’s part of me, and I’m part of her.”
“Both equally ugly,” someone else mocked, followed by loud bursts of laughter.
The tall woman holding the axe flipped her hair arrogantly over her shoulder. “Brave girl. You’ve got courage, I’ll give you that. But honestly, I think you’ve only survived this long because of luck.”
“This robot is going to become my second stroke of luck, right after the medal.” The man tapped Ursula’s arm.
“We’ll see about that. I want it too,” the woman replied impatiently.
The man laughed loudly. “Relax. We can share. One thing’s for sure, nobody can touch us anymore. We’ve got strong shields protecting us now. And this robot’s going to make a pretty great gift once we get back to After Domini.”
Only then did Red fully realize that those two had found Viz’s medallions. Some of them were already wearing the glowing medals on their chests. And Viz had said earlier that there were special medals with greater rewards than the others.
That had to be it.
The glowing medals were the special medals.
There was no doubt about it.
They were definitely special.
If those medals created the same kind of shield as the Tyrannosaurus robot, Red could easily order Ursula to smash a tree trunk into the shielded humans. But Red had already promised herself that she would never kill another human. If she crossed that line now, then Aamon had been right all along. Red would become no different from everyone else, someone willing to sacrifice others just to survive.
What Red feared most was not only killing those people but also destroying the medals. She only wanted to take the medals away from them. She needed to create a distraction, but doing so was difficult without help. Besides, her condition still wasn’t good. Red still needed proper medical treatment from Ingo.
“Give us the robot controller, and we promise we won’t hurt you.” The woman stretched her hand toward Red from a distance.
“I already told you she has a name,” Red replied, trying to buy herself more time.
“Oh, right, I forgot.” The woman smirked mockingly. “Maybe Ursula isn’t the right name. Maybe we should call it… The Lump of Scrap.”
Red nodded thoughtfully for a second before replying firmly, “That’s actually a pretty good one. The Lump of Scrap that kicks arrogant humans’ asses.”
Inside her chest, Red silently begged for the Assassins to show up soon. At that moment, she finally understood what Aamon had been warning her about this whole time. If they got cornered by enemies with tools that completely neutralized Ursula, Red would be helpless. She had no combat skills, not even weapons. In a situation like this, even with Ursula beside her, she could still die stupidly. Especially if she got attacked from different directions at once.
“Enough talking! Where’s the robot controller?” the woman demanded angrily.
Red shook her head slowly. “There isn’t one.”
“Stop messing with me and give it to me now!” the woman snapped.
“I’m not joking.” Red stared directly at her. “You want to know how I activate my robot?”
“Oh, then show me, little girl.”
Red let out a slow breath before whispering softly—
“Ghníomhact.”
Blue currents instantly surged across Ursula’s body.
The robot stood up immediately.
One massive arm suddenly swept through the crowd, sending people flying backward in every direction. Chaos erupted instantly. Red made careful movements that Ursula could mimic, forcing the crowd back without causing fatal injuries. Most of them panicked and fled, leaving behind only a handful of people with the special medals.
Only five people remained standing proudly.
Ursula’s attack had absolutely no effect on them.
“This,” Red said coldly, “is how I activate Ursula.”
The woman narrowed her eyes. “I think the controller is hidden in her bracelet.” Then she pointed directly at Red. “Break her hand.”
Suddenly, Kyra burst out from hiding with a broken branch clutched tightly in her hand, trying to protect Red in case someone attacked from another direction.
“Don’t touch us!” Kyra shouted angrily.
“So, the robot girl has a friend,” the big man said with a grin.
Red immediately looked at Kyra with regret.
Why did Kyra come out?
She was a Support Medic.
What Red feared most was these people realizing Kyra carried medical supplies and taking her hostage because of it.
“What are you doing, Kyra?” Red whispered urgently.
“I’m not letting anything happen to you.”
“Get back, Kyra!”
“But they’re going to attack us!”
“Kyra!!”
“They’re coming! Those shielded people are getting closer!” Kyra shouted in panic.
Red couldn’t properly hold the branch in Kyra’s hand with her injured arm. Someone had to strike the branch against the people wearing the special medals. Once the medals were knocked off their bodies, Ursula could easily drive them away.
“Can you hit them with the wood while I distract them?” Red asked.
“What? Have you lost your mind?” Kyra’s eyes widened in fear.
“It’s the only way.”
“No, Red!”
“The shield’s weakness is wood. You should be able to knock the medals off their necks.”
“Don’t make me do that. I’m not a fighter. We should just run.” Kyra looked completely desperate.
“I know you can do it!” Red nodded firmly without hesitation.
The people wearing the glowing medals slowly moved closer. They laughed and mocked the two helpless girls as they surrounded them.
Red prepared herself to run.
Then she shouted loudly—
“NOW, KYRA!!”
