Chapter 21 Flame “Blue Flame”

Chapter 21 Flame “Blue Flame”
To Red, the workshop looked extraordinary the moment they arrived.
It was a massive three-story square building, divided into two visible sections from afar. The walls were made of black-gold metal, and the entrance was huge, almost like a fortress gate, guarded by four Troy units.
According to Red, Kit had gotten herself an incredible workshop. Just like the Metaphysics predicted, once a team relied on a Support, their lives became much more secure.
Kit could actually relax for the next seven months while waiting for the winner of Savage Glory.
When Red and Phi stepped inside, Kit was standing beside Flame, testing the young man’s upgraded weapon.
Blue flames burst from Flame’s wrist.
The sight filled Red with both awe and fear. Anyone touched by those flames would probably turn to ash instantly.
“He’s shooting blue fire. That’s so cool!”
Phi clapped excitedly.
“Doesn’t Flame look even cooler now, Red?” the little girl asked.
“Yeah. It’s awesome,” Red replied, trying to hide the unease in her voice.
Her eyes wandered around the workshop, searching for Call. He was sitting casually in the corner, enjoying a meal.
The moment he noticed Red, he simply smiled and nodded. Red walked over to him.
“Ah, you’re here!” Call greeted cheerfully as he lifted his bowl. “Want something to eat, Red? Kit gets free food and water after leasing this workshop.”
Red shook her head, suppressing a laugh. “Later. Finish eating first.”
Meanwhile, Phi ran over and hugged Flame tightly.
Kit motioned for Red to come closer, and Jeremiah Hearts’ daughter walked over. Kit looked satisfied with the results of Flame’s upgrade.
“Everything going well?” Red asked.
“Yeah.”
“You’re going to become the best Support Weapon. I’m sure of it.” Red gently patted Kit’s shoulder.
Kit chuckled softly. “I like your optimism, even if it sounds impossible.”
But Red only shook her head, determination showing clearly on her face.
“We’re getting out of here alive. And we’re saving everyone on Earth.”
Phi and Flame exchanged glances, neither of them speaking. Still, through her left eye, Red could see their heartbeats speeding up.
Maybe they were shaken by her words. Or maybe they were scared, knowing that Savage Glory could have only one winner.
No one knew what would happen once the deaths piled up and the competition became even more brutal.
Eventually, survival instincts would take over. People would stop thinking clearly. Friends could easily become enemies.
And once that happened, everything would fall apart.
“Can you upgrade me, too, Kit?” Phi suddenly asked.
Kit went quiet for a moment.
“I’m not sure. The components inside your body are really unique. Flame’s setup is easier because it primarily channels heat. His catalyzer uses fairly common materials, and this workshop only gave me limited resources.”
“Which obviously should go toward my upgrades,” Flame said with a grin.
“You’re not wrong,” Kit admitted with a nod.
Phi pouted. “Seriously, why did I end up with portal powers? It’s not even cool. I just jump in and out like some rabbit hole.”
“Don’t worry about it. You just need more practice,” Flame said with a smile before gently stroking Phi’s cheek again, right in front of Red and Kit. “I’ll always stay with you. I promise.”
Phi nodded enthusiastically while Red and Kit awkwardly looked away for the second time.
Then Phi grabbed Flame’s hand.
“Guess we should go now.”
Flame nodded before glancing at Call, then at Red and Kit.
“Thanks for helping us.”
“We should be the ones thanking you,” Kit replied.
Phi waved excitedly at Call. “See you later, Call!”
Call awkwardly waved back. “Take care, Phi! Flame!”
Phi opened a portal before throwing them a flying kiss.
“Bye!”
“See you soon,” Red and Kit replied together, waving goodbye.
The two Metaphysics vanished into the portal, and silence immediately filled the workshop once it closed.
