Kael’s Wild Side
Kael’s Wild Side
Zarah had never seen Kael like this. Since the night he discovered her identity and confronted her, something in him seemed to have broken — or been set free.
He was lighter, but at the same time more dangerous. The predatory look remained, but now it came with a smile that promised sin.
The first stop was at a luxury restaurant, one he knew Zarah liked. He picked her up without warning, saying only:
“Put on something I’ll enjoy tearing off you later.”
At the restaurant, Kael ordered the best wine, the finest appetizers, and never took his eyes off her for a single second. Zarah, suspicious, kept her body tense until she felt his hand rest on her thigh under the table.
“Relax,” he murmured in her ear. “I’m trying to prove that the world can still be yours.”
After dinner, he took her to a high-end motel. Not the dark and anonymous place they had used the first time — but a panoramic suite, with a hot tub, champagne, and lit candles.
Kael pinned her against the glass overlooking the city, the cars passing far below. He kissed her as if he wanted to erase all the bad memories she carried.
“You deserve the finest things,” he whispered, taking a small box from his pocket and placing na emerald necklace around her neck. “And you deserve to be worshiped.”
Zarah tried to laugh, nervous.
“Are you trying to buy my forgiveness?”
“No. I’m trying to buy your laughter. And it seems to be working.”
The mood heated quickly. He cuffed her lightly, this time not as punishment, but as play. He touched her slowly, exploring every inch of her skin, without hurry, as if he had all the time in the world.
When he finally entered her, it was against the cold glass, the contrast sending shivers down her spine. Zarah bit his shoulder to keep from screaming.
“Let the whole city hear,” he teased. “I want everyone to know you’re mine.”
Afterward, lying together on the huge bed, they laughed. He told stories from when he was young, about the times he irritated Rhaek on purpose just to see him lose his composure. Zarah laughed until she forgot she had ever been afraid of what Kael once was.
The following days were a parade of excesses. Kael took her to private dinners, rented movie theaters just for the two of them, and on one of those occasions took her right there in the back row before the movie had even begun.
“You’re crazy,” she whispered, laughing and trying to keep her voice down.
“Crazy for you,” he replied, before silencing her laughter with a deep kiss.
In the car, in the elevator, in the hotel hallway — every place became a stage for their desire.
But it wasn’t just sex. It was the way he listened to her now, how he let her speak about what she felt, even if it was anger or pain.
“You don’t owe me anything, Kael,” she said one night, lying naked under the sheets.
“Yes, I do,” he replied, serious. “I owe you the woman you became despite me. And I’ll pay that debt every day until you believe you’ll never be thrown away again.”
His words disarmed her more than any touch.
Zarah cried silently, and he simply held her, kissing the top of her head.
The next day, he arrived with na expensive pair of shoes.
“For you to step wherever you want. Including on my heart, if you must.”
She laughed, threw the shoe at him, and pulled him into bed.
That night was wilder than any other. He tied her with silk scarves, lit candles, and let the wax drip slowly onto her skin. She writhed, gasped, but begged for more.
“Don’t hold back,” she pleaded.
“Never again,” he promised, and kept every word.
In the end, they were exhausted, sweaty, and the room was thick with the scent of sex. Zarah nestled against his chest and said:
“You’re scaring me, Kael. I never thought you could make me laugh and come in the same night.”
He chuckled, kissing her forehead.
“Get used to it. We still have a lot to make up for.”
Zarah closed her eyes, feeling her body light in a way she hadn’t for years. For the first time, she began to believe that maybe — just maybe — she could be happy with Kael, even if the past still haunted them like a shadow.
And Kael, watching her fall asleep, knew he was completely lost. It wasn’t about revenge anymore, or about righting wrongs. It was about her. About Zarah. About Callista. About both of them — and about never letting them slip away again.
The suite was silent after a night that seemed endless. Zarah was sitting on the edge of the bed, wearing only Kael’s shirt, which hung loose over her bare thighs. He was behind her, fastening his watch on his wrist, his body still marked by her nails.
For a moment, the atmosphere felt light — until Kael stopped, his eyes fixed on her reflection in the mirror.
“Zarah…” his voice came out deep, slow, almost like a plea.
She turned her face, alert.
“What is it?”
Kael took a deep breath, as if preparing to cross a line he couldn’t uncross.
“I want to know if you’re willing to go back. Not just to me…” He moved closer, kneeling in front of her, holding her knees. “But to what we left behind. To the Vorns. To everything that broke us.”
Zarah froze. The question hit hard, tearing down in seconds the wall she had spent years building.
“You’re talking about war, Kael.”
“I’m talking about taking back what’s ours.” His tone was calm but firm. “About showing Rhaek and everyone who tried to destroy you that you’re no longer the she-wolf they despised.”
She laughed nervously, tears filling her eyes.
“You think I want to look at those people again? Go back to the compound? To the same walls where I was humiliated?”
Kael held her face, forcing her to look at him.
“No. I want you to go back as someone who burns those walls down. Not to be anyone’s Luna, but to show them they can’t erase you.”
Zarah swallowed hard, her heart pounding.
“I spent years trying to forget. I did all this…” she ran her hand over her own body, over the almost invisible scars. “… so I wouldn’t be that woman anymore. You’re asking me to become her again?”
“No,” Kael replied immediately.
“I’m asking Zarah — the woman you chose to be — to finish what Callista started.”
She stayed silent, feeling the weight of every word.
“And if I say I don’t want to?”
Kael sighed, sitting beside her.
“Then I respect that. But I’ll fight anyway. And I’ll probably die trying if you’re not with me.”
Zarah turned to him, alarmed.
“Don’t say that!”
He smiled faintly, without humor.
“You know it’s true. I wasn’t born to live in comfort, Zarah. And neither were you. The difference is that you tried — and I admire that. But look at me and tell me you’re happy pretending nothing happened.”
The silence stretched. Zarah lowered her gaze, biting her lower lip. She wanted to say yes, that she was happy, that she was finally free — but his presence, the warmth of his body, everything in her screamed otherwise.
“I’m scared, Kael.”
He leaned closer, brushing his nose against hers.
“Then let’s go scared. I just need you by my side.”
Zarah felt tears roll down her face, but she didn’t look away.
“And if everything goes wrong again? And if you send me away again?”
Kael held her fists against his chest, firm.
“Then I swear you’ll be the last thing I lose. Not because I deserve to have you… but because I don’t know how to be without you anymore.”
The kiss that followed was desperate, full of anger and tenderness at the same time. She let herself go, tears mixing with saliva, her body responding to his as if she had already made the decision her lips didn’t dare speak.
When they pulled apart, she rested her forehead against his.
“Don’t ask me to decide today.”
“I won’t,” he promised, stroking the back of her neck. “But I won’t stop asking.”
Zarah smiled, tired but sincere.
“You were always stubborn, Kael.”
He laughed, pulling her into his lap.
“And you were always the only one who could make me change course. But this time, we go togethe
r.”
She sighed, resting her head on his shoulder. Deep down, she knew the request had already been accepted — she just needed the courage to admit it.
