Chapter 43 Her Flash Marriage Husband Brings Her Luck

Chapter 43 Her Flash Marriage Husband Brings Her Luck

Frederick raised an eyebrow. "Those are your words. When you're better, don't forget to show your gratitude."

This Raymond had such a one-track mind!

Xandra wanted to snap back at him, but in the end just said with a flushed face, "Fine, I know."

With that, she quickly pulled open the car door and got out.

Watching her flustered appearance, Frederick chuckled softly.

She was so easy to tease—blushing at the slightest provocation!

Frederick went to handle the pickup paperwork. The sports car would be delivered directly to the Russell Group's garage in two days.

Then he took Xandra for another walk around the showroom, stopping in front of a Mercedes priced in the four-hundred-thousand range.

They both agreed—this was the car to buy.

That day, to stimulate sales, the organizers had set up a raffle—anyone who made a purchase could participate.

The grand prize was a free upgrade to the highest configuration for whatever vehicle the customer purchased.

Of course, this was just a marketing gimmick. The winner had already been predetermined internally. Regular customers had no chance of winning.

Frederick looked at Xandra's delicate face, his heart stirring slightly. Using the excuse of making a phone call, he quietly coordinated with the organizers...

"There's still a raffle! I wonder what the prizes are."

After finishing the car purchase paperwork, Xandra asked curiously.

"Go draw and you'll find out," Frederick replied.

Xandra hesitated. "Maybe you should draw instead. My luck's been pretty bad lately."

Frederick glanced at her. "Who says your luck is bad? Who won first place in the jewelry design competition today?"

True!

Xandra's eyes lit up. "Should I go draw then?"

"Go ahead."

Frederick stood with his hands in his pockets, watching her walk to the raffle area and pull a slip from the box the staff member was holding.

Of course, the staff had already received instructions and rigged the raffle box.

So naturally, Xandra drew the grand prize.

"Congratulations to this customer for winning a complete vehicle configuration upgrade!"

The staff member's voice was loud and theatrical.

Xandra's eyes widened as she excitedly covered her mouth.

Her luck was through the roof—she'd actually won the grand prize!

"Not bad luck at all. You actually drew the grand prize."

Frederick's lips curved as he strolled over to her leisurely.

Xandra spun around and excitedly threw her arms around him. "Honey, you bring me good luck!"

Ever since meeting him, her previously terrible luck seemed to have turned around—yes, her flash-marriage husband was her good luck charm!

That "honey" made Frederick's heart feel like something had gently plucked it, leaving a tingling sensation.

He looked down, meeting her clear, bright eyes. In that moment, he wanted to bring all the best things in the world to her, just to see her smile.

He raised his hand to ruffle her hair, whispering in her ear, "Just remember to thank me properly."

Xandra fell silent—did he have to kill the mood like that!

Face flushed, she playfully swatted him. "Go handle the paperwork!"

Frederick chuckled softly and went to process the upgrade.

Since she'd most likely be the one driving this Mercedes, of course it should have the top configuration.

The Mercedes would also need a few days before pickup.

After finishing the paperwork, they walked out of the showroom.

Xandra's face was glowing with happiness—who wouldn't be in a good mood after scoring such a great deal?

Just as she got in the car, her phone rang.

Xandra glanced at the caller ID, her smile fading slightly.

It was her aunt Laura Cavendish calling—nine times out of ten, Edith had gone home to complain.

She didn't want to answer and hung up directly.

But the caller was persistent and called again.

"Whose call?"

Seeing her refuse to answer, Frederick asked.

"My aunt."

Frederick's expression darkened. He pulled the car to the side of the road, took the phone from her hand, put it on speaker, and simultaneously turned on the recording function.

As soon as the call connected, a shrill tirade erupted from the speaker:

"Xandra, you little brat! Still think you're some high-and-mighty princess? How dare you hit my daughter!"

"Aunt Laura, Edith verbally attacked me first," Xandra responded calmly.

"Bullshit! What did Edith say that was wrong? You were gang-raped by a bunch of men, and those kids are rapists' spawn!"

The voice continued cursing. "Dead girl, keeping a boy toy now? I've never seen such a shameless woman! Your body's been ruined by who knows how many men—how do you still have the face to live in this world!"

"Your family got cursed into this state because of you! If I were you, I would've killed myself already..."

The words were utterly vicious.

Xandra's fingers clenched tight, her chest heaving with anger. She'd always known her aunt was low-class—she'd worked as a bottle girl at a bar when she was young and was notoriously crude.

When Xandra's father was alive, Laura could restrain herself somewhat. Now she was completely unhinged.

Frederick's gaze was icy, but he didn't interrupt. He just gripped Xandra's hand tightly, signaling her not to respond.

Only after the other side had finished their tirade did he speak. "Done? Wait for the lawyer's letter."

With that, he hung up directly, blocked the number, his actions swift and decisive.

Xandra took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. "Ray, are you really going to sue her?"

Frederick handed the phone back. "You don't want to sue her?"

Xandra bit her lip. "It's not that, but this level of verbal abuse probably doesn't qualify as defamation, does it?"

After all, even if they filed a lawsuit, it would most likely just end in a settlement.

"If I say she broke the law, then she broke the law."

Frederick's expression was stern as he restarted the car—his aura at that moment carried a commanding presence, exactly like a domineering CEO from a novel.

Xandra blinked her clear eyes. "Ray, have you been around Mr. Russell so long you're starting to think you're a CEO too? Talking so domineeringly."

Frederick fell silent—oops, he'd let his true self slip out for a moment.

He reined in his emotions, his tone becoming casual. "She's bullying my wife. Even the most ordinary man would have some backbone."

A warm current flowed through Xandra's heart—regardless of anything else, having her husband stand up for her when someone bullied her was enough.

"Alright, scaring her a bit sounds good!"

"I'm not just scaring her."

Frederick connected his Bluetooth earpiece and called Aiden.

"Aiden, someone's bullying my wife. I need a favor..."

Xandra couldn't help but reach out and tug gently on his sleeve, her face full of curiosity.

Frederick gave her a reassuring look and explained the situation.

On the other end, Aiden carefully took notes. "Got it, I understand."

"Thanks."

Frederick hung up and sent Aiden the recording he'd just made.

Xandra watched him send it. "Why are you asking Aiden for help again?"

"He's the executive assistant to the CEO—he's well-connected. Going to him is most efficient."

He needed Aiden to make an example out of this situation for Xandra.

"Ray, we keep bothering Aiden. Won't he think we're shameless?"

Xandra felt a bit embarrassed.

"No, he and I are good friends."

The whole point of an assistant was to help the boss solve problems—Aiden better not dare complain about it being troublesome!

Xandra pressed her lips together lightly. "Ray, don't we owe Aiden another favor now? It seems like you keep owing people favors because of me."

Frederick glanced at her, his tone meaningful. "It's fine. As long as you remember to thank me properly."
