Chapter 14
“Go on in. If anything happens, call that number.”
Zachary didn’t get out of the car.
Gabrielle thanked him softly and pushed the car door open.
It wasn’t until she stepped inside and locked the door behind her that she finally felt a sense of safety.
Leaning against the door, she slowly slid down to the floor.
The terrifying encounter earlier still left her shaken.
But it had also solidified her determination to leave.
This place was full of betrayal, scheming, and danger.
She didn’t want to stay another second.
Over the next few days, Gabrielle kept a low profile and rarely left home.
Just as Zachary promised, someone was clearly watching over her, though she never saw them. Still, she could sense the hidden protection.
Timothy called several times, but she hung up every time.
Later, the Goldstein family contacted her to ask about the wedd preparations.
She used the excuse of not feeling well and told them to handle everything themselves.

Her parents didn’t call to pressure her either, apparently accepting her “compromise.”
That silence, oddly enough, made Gabrielle feel a bit of sorrow.
To them, their daughter’s happiness was far less important than the family’s reputation and interests.
Three days later, Zachary contacted her.
They arranged to meet at a highly private club.
The club had tight security and excellent privacy.
Zachary handed her a folder.
“This is the final plan. Take a look.”
Gabrielle took the file and read it carefully.
The plan was incredibly detailed, accounting for every possible scenario.
From the choice of the wedding car, the route, the timing of the staged incident…
To the venue setup, coordination with “emergency” crews, and the handling of the “body“.
Even down to her escape route, new identity documents, and international extraction arrangements.
It had everything.
“I’ve already arranged the car. It’s identical in appearance to the one prepared by the Goldsteins,” Zachary explained.
“The seats and interior have been specially treated. They’re highly

flammable and will produce dense smoke when burned.
“The timing is set for during the drive from the Goldstein residence to the wedding hotel.
“That stretch of road is relatively remote and has limited surveillance. It’s perfect for the switch.”
Gabrielle’s hand paused when she read the section labeled “Body Handling“.
“A severely burned, unidentifiable corpse will be used in your place,” Zachary said flatly.
“You don’t need to worry about the source. It’s clean. No way to trace
“I’ve already settled things with the coroner. They’ll issue a death certificate matching your identity.”
Gabrielle nodded in silence.
She knew Zachary had his own network and resources.
“The escape will use the chaos at the scene. A fire truck will cover your exit.
“You’ll be taken straight to a private airfield and flown to Craighaven.
“Your new identity, passport, and bank accounts are all ready.
“Once you arrive, someone will be waiting. Everything is arranged.”
Zachary looked at her,
“Gabrielle, once this begins… there’s no going back.
“If you regret it now, it’s not too late.”

Gabrielle closed the folder and lifted her eyes, filled with unwavering
determination.
“I don’t regret it.”
She raised her head and looked him straight in the eye.
“Thank you, Zachary.”
It was the first time she had ever thanked him so sincerely.
Zachary’s lips curled slightly, his smile somewhat complicated.
“It’s just business. Don’t forget the final payment.”
He paused and then added.
“The climate in Craighaven is nice. Good for clearing your head.”
Gabrielle was momentarily surprised and then nodded faintly.
They went over the last few details together, making sure nothing was overlooked.
