NOAH’s POV

“Ara, what are you doing? I hissed sharply at her. I didn't understand the reason she would never stop being close to Mike. She raised her eyebrows, anger flashing in her eyes. “What does it look like I'm doing?

I closed my eyes and took a shaky breath, I was in no good mood and Ara was worsening it. “Told you—”

“Enough!! You can settle things with your wife later. What is going on now?” My mother interrupted. She looked like she had been crying and I could understand. The document containing all the secrets and fraud my father was involved in was exposed by someone, and it was a huge problem.

“Mother, calm down”. I walked up to her and kissed her forehead. I was not calm but no one had to know that. The document being exposed revealed my incompetency and I could lose the crown. My lineage could lose the crown, even though I wasn't very interested.

She held my hands and stared at me with confusion, “Did you catch the culprit?

I wandered my eyes around the room, I knew who I could trust and who I couldn't. Ara was still standing close to Mike, and she was biting her lips, others were staring and eager to hear good news. None of them cared about the crown, they just wanted the power and wealth attached to it.

I bent low and whispered to my mother, “It's not from the palace”. The first thing I did was to check my office and the document was still present. The only reason it could have leaked was if my father had shared it with someone else. My mother nodded, and I patted her hair, “how could I tell her that I was almost dethroned?”

I have collected dirty evidence on each member of the parliament to shut their mouths in cases like this.

“I will do my best and if it is not enough, everyone should prepare to find their way” I announced loudly, with a cold voice, earning me glares and whispers from others. My uncle, who had been quiet for a long time, finally spoke, “How could you put us all in this position?”

I dipped my hands into my pockets and mockingly stared at him, “Uncle, behave yourself.”

My mother facepalmed. I didn't have any problems with my uncle, but he was two-faced, and he never saw wrong in his wife’s doings.

“Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!” Shirley screamed all of a sudden, making me stop at my movement. I creased my eyebrows but suddenly curled my lips into a smile. I knew how much she valued her reputation and that was the reason I targeted her public image and products. Maya ran to her and held her shoulders. “What is it?” everyone asked. My eyes wandered to my wife, and she looked nervous. I didn't know if it was about Shirley or me. Shirley collapsed on the chair, tears streaming down her face. My uncle and Maya were consoling her and asking what was wrong and after a long silence, she finally spoke up,

“My companies—gone—all” She stammered as she choked with tears. I felt a satisfactory joy within. Her face twisted with pain and the arrogant Shirley I knew of was gone. Others were consoling her as she narrated how her companies were banned from producing new products with no option to appeal. I was about to go in when her eyes sharply met mine,

“You!!!!” She screamed, veins popping out from her head. “You did this!!!!!, you are the only one who could implant evidence of fraud in my companies!!!

My mother asked harshly, “What do you mean? What has this got to do with Noah?

She dashed toward me but was held back by her husband, “You ruined me because of your wife!!!!”

“What?” I heard Ara’s quiet and confused voice. She stared at me and I looked at her remorsefully, not because of what I did to Shirley, but because I missed my wife. My mother moved closer. “Noah?”

I shrugged my shoulders. “She was rude to my wife and I warned her countless times.”

“You this bastard—-!!!”

“Bow!!!!! You shouldn't be rude to your future king!” I roared at her, my nose flared with anger and I released my royal aura, causing them to bow reluctantly. My jaw clenched, I woke up to a commotion under my nose and I had to deal with my family. I inhaled a sharp breath, “Ara, come with me.”

She was the only one who dared not to bow her head and stared at me defiantly. Not like I mind it anyway,

“No, I won't” she replied, keeping her voice calm and steady. My anger rose to my throat, I dangerously narrowed my eyes at her, but she didn't flinch a bit. I began to storm her way when I heard Isabella’s voice,

“Noah, why don't you leave her?”

Without glancing at her, I responded. “You mean I should leave my wife behind?

I saw her throat swallow hard. I knew that my anger would ruin my plans for her, but I would mend things later. For now, I needed my wife and i prayed silently for her to listen to me this time.

“Noah—let me go” She gritted through her teeth. I knew she was more than pissed. I had been a dick these past few days, ignoring her and tending to Isabella instead. I didn't want to imagine how hurtful that could have been for her,

“Shhh” I held her hand tightly even though she was glaring at me and I would have dropped dead if looks could kill. I  pulled her upstairs with me, and I heard sighs of relief behind me, but I didn't care a bit about Shirley and her little family.
