Chapter 63 A Troubled Homecoming

After dropping off Daisy and Ryan, Justin returned to Hong Kong.

As soon as he entered the house, he saw Quinn's father, Jim. His face seemed to have aged by ten years. He was sitting on the couch, completely devoid of his usually dignified and composed demeanor.

Justin couldn't help but sigh and approached to offer comfort, saying, "Dad, God bless you!"

Jim, now only seeing Justin's return, erupted in anger, "Why are you able to come back unscathed?"

"Why didn't you bring Quinn back when you were summoned by headquarters?"

"Give me back my daughter, give her back to me!"

Jim, at this moment, seemed to have gone mad, desperately pounding on Justin. Those around them dared not intervene until Mr. Scott, sitting in a wheelchair, came out and brought the altercation to a halt.

Two years ago, Mr. Scott had a heart attack and his health declined. As a result, he had to be bound to a wheelchair and was taken care of by nurses 24 hours a day.

If it weren't for this terrible incident, Mr. Scott wouldn't have come out.

Although the Quinn Murphy’s sudden death wasn't a big deal for the Scotts as it did not affect them. Nevertheless, they expressed their condolences to Jim.

After Jim left, Mr. Scott summoned Justin to the study alone to discuss the cooperation issue with LIN.

Justin gave a brief answer, and immediately Mr. Scott flew into a rage, grabbing something and throwing it at Justin: "What kind of work are you doing?"

"You can't even handle such a small matter properly. Now we are being sued for breach of contract, damaging the brand's interests. Are you trying to bankrupt us?"

With ease, Justin dodged the cup thrown by Mr. Scott and said indifferently, "It's because Quinn Murphy didn't do a proper job of cleaning up the mess properly."

"It's a miracle if we can reconcile once the headquarters finds out!"

"Get out! Get the hell out of here!" Mr. Scott was so angry that he could hardly breathe, pointing towards the door, ”why weren’t the one that was on that plane?"

"Go out, don't ever come back to this house!"

After saying that, he held his heart and started to breathe heavily. Rachel, who was outside the door, immediately came in.

Justin glanced coldly at his father, who was suffering a heart attack, without showing concern. He turned around and walked out of the house directly.

It was already afternoon by the time he returned to New York.

Justin took care of some matters, he kept track of when Daisy finished work, and went to her company.

When Daisy and her colleagues came out together, they were surprised to see Justin waiting for her in the lobby of the building.

Her new colleagues had always thought that Daisy was a divorced single mother.

In their mind, they had the impression that someone who divorced at such a young age must have had a bad relationship with her ex-husband, so they had never asked Daisy about her ex-husband.

Hence, when they saw Justin for the first time, it didn’t come across in their mind that he was in fact her ex-husband. Hence, they teased her, "Is this your new man?"

As soon as Justin heard these words, his face darkened instantly, and his gaze towards Daisy was filled with anger.

Daisy didn't dare to meet Justin's eyes. She awkwardly explained to her colleagues, "He is Ryan's father."

Her coworkers were startled, "Ah, your ex-husband? He's so handsome, why did you get divorced?"

Daisy didn't know how to explain this, so she could only whisper, "The problem did not lie with me..."

"Oh, I see. He must be a heartless scumbag!" Her coworker said, casting a disdainful glance at Justin, saying goodbye to Daisy, and leaving the company.

Only the two of them were left in the lobby.

Daisy kept her head down, unable to look directly at Justin's darkened face, and asked softly, "Why... did you come?"

"I came to pick up my... child's mother. Is that not okay?" Justin immediately sounded displeased, grabbing Daisy's wrist and forcing her to look up.

Daisy furrowed her brows, she felt extremely uncomfortable. "It would be better if you didn't come in the future, I don't want my colleagues to see."

"Why?" Justin's tone immediately became dissatisfied, and he pulled Daisy's hand, forcing her to look at him.

Daisy blinked her big eyes repeatedly, at a loss for how to explain. She could only say in a soft voice, "It's not good for me..."

"Oh, I see. You must think I'm a heartless playboy!" Justin's gaze turned cold as he spoke, casting a disdainful glance at him before saying goodbye to Daisy and leaving the company.

"I don't want Ryan's identity to be discovered. They all think I'm divorcee."

Feeling wronged, every word he said implied his unforgivable sins.

Veins bulged on Justin's forehead as he pulled Daisy towards the underground garage.

Daisy couldn't help but refuse: "Let me go and pick up Ryan on my own!"

Ignoring her, Justin directly pushed Daisy into the passenger seat, fastened her seatbelt, and glared at her: "What? Am I now being deprived of my rights as a father?"

Daisy felt wronged: "I didn't..."

"That's good!" Justin glanced at her and then sat in the driver's seat, fastening his seatbelt. He said in a deep voice, "Since I survived death, I have decided that every minute and every second of the future will be spent with you and our son. Your refusal is futile!"

"Isn't this inappropriate?" Daisy couldn't help but mutter, "She just had an accident..."

Justin knew who Daisy was referring to and looked into her eyes with a contemptuous tone: "I've always remembered my mistakes, have you forgotten how she treated you? Now you pity her?"

Daisy frowned: "What are you talking about? After all, it's a human life."

She couldn't say that she detested or liked Quinn Murphy.

She envied her privileged background and strong abilities, but as for everything else, she didn't care anymore.

She just felt that it wasn't ethical to be with someone else's husband right after her accident...

Especially after Quinn Murphy had said to her, “I will never accept a divorce in this lifetime. Only widowhood awaits me when my husband dies.”

She thought that must have loved Justin, otherwise, she wouldn't be so certain that she wouldn't divorce.

Justin understood Daisy's concerns very well. With a cold snort, he didn't say much and started the car, driving away from the company.

Due to heavy traffic, Justin and Daisy arrived at the kindergarten when most of the children had already been picked up.

Daisy rushed into the classroom, only to see Ryan playing with Ken and his daughter. She finally breathed a sigh of relief.

When Ryan saw Daisy coming in, he ran towards her without hesitation.

Daisy embraced Ryan with both hands and looked at Ken, expressing her gratitude: "Thank you!"

Ken chuckled indifferently and got up, walking towards Daisy, as if he wanted to say something. His expression changed the second he saw Justin, who came later.

Justin's deep eyes also darkened when he saw Ken, but he simply ignored him.

Justin crouched down to embrace Ryan, asking lovingly, "Darling, are you happy that Daddy came to pick you up today?"

"Happy!" Ryan immediately hugged Justin when he saw him, burying his head and saying, "Daddy, you finally came to pick me up!"

A smile appeared on Justin's lips as he carried Ryan and walked out.

Upon hearing Ryan calling Justin "Daddy," Ken couldn't help but relax. He politely asked, "Is this Ryan's father?"

Daisy nodded.

Ken wanted to say something, but he only saw Ryan turn and grab Daisy's hand, walking towards the school gate. This immediately made Ken's relaxed expression turn sour.

Justin tightly held Daisy's hand until they got into the car before letting go. He placed Ryan in the child seat in the back, then forcefully shoved Daisy into the passenger seat and grimly fastened her seatbelt.

Daisy couldn't help but feel annoyed. "Justin, what are you doing?"

"Shut up!" After three years, this was the first time Justin had spoken so harshly to Daisy.

Feeling scared and helpless, Daisy didn't dare to ask further questions. When they returned home, Justin acted as if nothing had happened. He had his usual amiable expression and took Ryan to the bedroom to play with toys.

Daisy watched the father and son happily playing and couldn't say anything. Feeling depressed, she went into the kitchen to prepare dinner. However, not long after, Ryan grew tired and fell asleep.

Justin then came out and went straight to the kitchen. He hugged Daisy from behind and nibbled on her earlobe, whispering mockingly, "So you really found a new man, huh?"

"A new man? Hehe..." Daisy laughed sarcastically.

"If I don't make you suffer today, my name is not Scott!"
