26. Jealousy In The Air

The moment I stepped back inside the venue, the energy of the party wrapped around me. The music pulsed through the air, the colorful lights flickered across the crowded dance floor, and people laughed, danced, and enjoyed the moment. But my mind wasn’t on any of it.

I was still thinking about Robert.

And I had no idea that, within minutes, I would once again find myself tangled in his gravity.

A senior guy walked up to me, confidence written all over his face.

"Hey, junior," he said smoothly, extending his hand. "Dance with me?"

Before I could answer, he gently took my wrist, pulling me onto the dance floor without waiting for permission.

I barely registered the movement before his hands settled on my waist. My body went rigid, my heartbeat spiking in surprise. He started moving, guiding me to the rhythm of the music, but I didn’t move. I couldn’t.

Because my eyes had already found him.

Robert.

He stood at the edge of the dance floor, his gaze locked onto me like a predator watching its prey. His jaw clenched, his fists curling at his sides. His usually composed face was a mask of barely restrained fury.

The air around him felt charged, electric.

A storm was brewing.

Then, without taking his eyes off me, Robert turned and walked over to the DJ booth. He leaned in, saying something to the guy controlling the music. A moment later, the music changed—gone was the upbeat, carefree tune.

In its place, a slower, more intense melody filled the air.

It was deep, sensual.

The kind of song that pulled two bodies together, not apart.

The guy dancing with me hesitated, momentarily distracted by the change in music. That was all Robert needed.

Before I could even react, Robert was in front of me.

He didn’t ask.

He didn’t hesitate.

He simply took me.

His hand wrapped around my waist in a firm, unrelenting grip, pulling me against him with force. Our bodies collided, heat meeting heat, his scent overwhelming my senses.

A soft gasp escaped me as I felt the hardness of his chest against me, the sheer strength in his hold.

"You’re not very good at dancing, junior," Robert murmured, his voice low and deep, sending a shiver through me. "Let me teach you."

I swallowed, my breath catching in my throat.

His grip tightened, his fingers pressing into my waist, almost claiming me. The air between us crackled with tension, our proximity making it impossible to think of anything else.

Then, he moved.

And I had no choice but to follow.

Every step was calculated, controlled. His hands guided me effortlessly, demanding my surrender to his rhythm. The way his body pressed against mine, the way his fingers subtly traced circles on my lower back—it was overwhelming.

"Relax," he whispered, his lips brushing my ear. "I won’t bite… unless you want me to."

My hands, which had been awkwardly hovering at my sides, lifted instinctively to rest on his shoulders. The moment I touched him, his grip on my waist tightened, his thumb grazing my skin just beneath the fabric of my dress.

My stomach flipped.

His eyes darkened.

"Better," he said, smirking slightly.

The world around us blurred. The music, the people, the noise—it all faded away.

There was only Robert.

His touch. His heat. The way his body moved in sync with mine.

The possessiveness in his gaze sent a thrill down my spine. He wasn’t just dancing with me.

He was staking his claim.

And God, I loved it.

When the song finally ended, my legs felt weak. My breath was uneven, and my heart was pounding so hard I was sure he could hear it.

Robert leaned in, his lips brushing against my temple as he whispered, "Let’s get out of here."

It wasn’t a suggestion. It was a command.

And the worst part?

I wanted to obey.

As he pulled away, I finally became aware of the room again—and the stunned expressions of the senior girls watching us.

Robert had never danced with a girl before. Not even during his own freshers’ party.

But he had danced with me.

A strange, intoxicating sense of pride bloomed in my chest.

I was different.

I was special to him.

And that realization was even more thrilling than the way his hands had just owned me.

He left the party abruptly and I followed him after a minute. He was waiting in his car.

He asked me to get inside the car. His face is kind of different, seems like anger surrounded him. He didn't take a look at me.

He didn't utter a single work and drove the car suddenly with extreme speed.

" Are you Okay? " I asked Robert.
He just saw in to my eyes but didn't speak anything.

Tension spiking on my nerves. I'm scared now. My hands started shiver slightly. He recognised my uncomfort.

He drove the car directly to my room but not his.

He dragged me inside by holding my wrist tightly. I couldn't stop him. He was forceful.

I opened the lock and he just pushed the door like in an urgency and pulled me inside.
He leaned me on to the wall and said, " stay right there."

My breath was heavy and tense. I don't know what he wanted to do but I'm afraid because I have never seen Robert in a mood like this.

He was searching for something in my home.

He found a rope and bringing it towards me.

" What's going on, Robert? " I asked him.

He looked in to my eyes angrily and turned me back on to the wall.

He started roping my hands.

" What the hell, Robert? What are you doing to me ? " I shouted with fear.

He tuned me towards him and pulled me to the wall hardly and his hands were resting on the wall, around me.

" Do you know what I'm going to do to you? " He asked me.
" I have no idea, Robert. Please leave me," I said.

" I'm going to punish you, Amy, " he said .
