Chapter Two-Hundred and Fifty-One
Chapter Two-Hundred and Fifty-One
Brute decided to search the rest of the house and when he came back, he shook his head. “No other weapons that I can find, but in this mess who the hell knows?”
Kota nodded then ran his hand over the back of his head. “Yeah, it stinks here. I hope he hurries up.”
Titan and Kota sat down on the sofa to wait while Brute paced the living room, checking the front street through the window every once in a while.
Closer to two o’clock, they all heard a car pull up. They listened as the car door opened and closed, then the key was inserted into the door lock.
Brute went to stand behind the door while Titan and Kota sat on the sofa.
When the door swung open and Jenson stepped inside, he stopped abruptly when he saw the two men sitting on his sofa. “Who the fuck are you guys and how the hell did you get into my house?”
Brute stepped out from behind the door and pushed him into the room. He then shut the door and turned the lock.
“What the hell?” Jenson stumbled into the room and almost ended up on the floor. He turned to Brute and his eyes widened at the man’s sheer size.
Kota growled, “I wouldn’t be so worried about who we are but instead I would worry about what you’re going to do next. It might just determine how well you come out of this.”
Jenson frowned at him. “See… I don’t even know what that means.”
“Mr. Dalton, this is your karma,” Titan told him. “And you might say we are here to serve it to you.”
Jenson sneered. “Oh, yeah? Well, I didn’t fucking order karma. I will be having hot wings for dinner. So serve your bullshit elsewhere.” He straightened up and moved into the living room. “I don’t have but a few bucks here and some beer. You want it, then take it.” He dug into his pocket and then tossed a few crumpled dollar bills onto the table. “Just get the hell out of my house. I don’t need you or your fucking karma bullshit.”
“I warned you about your choices here, but have it your way.” Kota shrugged.
Brute then swiftly slammed his fist into Jenson’s head.
Jenson went down immediately.
Brute rubbed his fist for a moment then shook his head.
Kota chuckled. “Been a while since you got the chance to punch someone.”
“Yeah, we never have any fun lately,” he replied.
Titan nodded in agreement. “Let’s get the fuck out of here before the neighbors hear us.”
Brute grunted then leaned down, grabbed Jenson up, and threw him over his shoulder. He got his balance and started toward the back door. Glancing around to see if anyone was watching, he then went out to the truck. He tossed the unconscious man in the back, under the tonneau cover then tied his hands together behind him. Finally, he slapped a piece of duct tape over his mouth. Then he shut the gate.
The three large bikers got into the double-cab and Wanderer drove away.
When they got back to the clubhouse, they stopped and blindfolded Jenson before they got him into the compound. Silence reigned as no one said a word as they carried him down to the basement where the cells were. They laid him on the cot.
Brute took off the blindfold and the gag but left his hands tied behind his back. Locking the cell, he went upstairs again.
By the time Brute got there, Kota and Titan were putting their cuts back on.
Hawkins asked, “How did it go?”
Kota shrugged. “The man lives like a slob.” He looked over at London and said, “No offense.” Looking back at his father, Kota went on, “He has a real problem, came into the house stinking of beer at two in the afternoon. He demanded to know who the hell we were and why we were in his house. We told him we were karma and it was time to pay for what he’s done.” Kota snorted. “Said he didn’t believe in karma and for us to get the hell out of his house. Well, Brute hit him then. I mean we knew he was a waste of time to talk to. He needs to dry out first. So we dragged his sorry ass along with us. Only time will tell how he’ll do when his beer dries up.”
“He isn’t going to take that well, not at all.” London scoffed. “He’s a wannabe alpha male as well as an alcoholic. So just count on it. He’s going to spit and sputter about being held against his will.”
Brute threw down the contents of Jenson’s pockets. His wallet, his phone, his keys, and some small change hit the table. He looked up at Hawkins and said, “His phone has gone off a couple of times since we picked him up.”
Hawkins looked at London, “Do you know his code?”
“Yeah, it's my mom’s birthday, 10, 4, 70,” she told him.
Hawkins picked up the phone and punched in his code. In his messages, he read four texts from Ronnie out loud, “Where the hell is she? Have you found her yet? I paid you good money and she’s mine.” Then the next one, “I need everything in place in the next few days or our plan is going to hell and I’m not going down alone, you bastard. You better be in place tomorrow morning or I’m coming after you and I’ll drag your ass right down Main Street.” He paused and read some more, “You better not let me down or hell is coming here and it will burn down this no good town.” Hawkins looked up at London and said, “Your dad is in deep shit here and Ronnie is willing to burn this town right down to the ground.”
London sighed and said, “My dad would probably be meeting him. Without me of course, but he has no choice in this. His back is really against the wall. You guys tossing him in a cell is probably doing him a real favor here. But that is why I decided to leave. Ronnie doesn’t know what the hell he’s doing if he thinks the people who live here will just let him run over the top of them. He believes they are mindless sheep and can be herded into compliance, but he’s wrong.”
Hawkins shook his head. “Well, he is gonna be pissed. Jenson will not be showing up at all and especially not with you in chains. No fucking way. But we need to get eyes on Ronnie and his bunch… see if we can figure out what the hell he does after this. The man is going to be very dangerous once he loses his cool.”
“I can get those cameras out tonight and we’ll have eyes on him at any rate,” JuJu told them.
“You just be careful out there,” Hawkins warned. “Maybe wear dark clothing and a hoodie or something. This Ronnie is annoying as fuck but he ain’t no fool.
