Anisha's Perspective:
"How can you kill him just to save this non-existent traitor? We know you don't get along with him, but this is going too far!" The voices grew louder, and the room filled with tension and anger. After a moment, I came to realize that my father's right-hand man, Mr. Anderson, was accusing me of the heinous act of killing someone to protect a supposed traitor.
My heart raced, each thump echoing the chaos that had consumed the opulent ballroom. Mr. Anderson's accusations pierced the air, his voice a tempest of rage as he pointed an accusing finger at me. The weight of his words settled upon me like an iron shroud, suffocating me in a storm of disbelief.
Elijah's lifeless form was lying beside me, a chilling reminder of the events that had transpired. My fingers trembled around the hilt of the knife, the cold metal sending shivers through me as I clutched it. My mind raced, trying to make sense of the situation that had spiraled beyond my control.
In our world, killing someone isn't considered a heinous crime until we recognize the victim as a person with inherent worth and value. And Elijah, being the son of a powerful family, his worth and value were unquestionable.
Mr. Anderson's face contorted with anger, his eyes blazing with fury. "How could you do this, Anisha?" he roared, his voice reverberating off the walls of the mansion. "He was my son, and you... you took his life!"
My gaze remained fixed on Mr. Anderson, my expression a mask of bewilderment and shock. I struggled to find my voice, my throat dry and constricted. "I didn't... I didn't kill him," stammered, my words audible above the tumultuous din that enveloped them.
I couldn't believe that I was being accused of murder, especially by someone I had once trusted and respected, like Mr. Anderson. The accusation of murder weighed upon me, my mind grappling with the unimaginable reality of the situation.
I frantically searched for a defense against these baseless accusations.
Despite my pleading expression, my father's stern face stayed unchanged, his cold and unreadable eyes fixated on mine. The accusation thrown at me was huge and it made my heart sink. Elijah, the very embodiment of rivalry and resentment, now lay lifeless at my feet, and someone had laid the blame on my shoulders.
Summoning my resolve, I pushed myself up from the ground, my legs wobbling beneath me. I took a tentative step toward Mr. Anderson, my voice stronger this time. "I swear, I didn't kill him. Believe me."
Even though, in our world, many kill others just for their gain or out of anger, this was not the case for me.
A bitter silence hung in the air, my father's gaze unyielding as he regarded me. My eyes welled with tears, my heartache mirrored in my trembling voice. "You know how much I disliked him, how much I despised his actions," I pleaded. "But I would never take a life out of my anger or hatred towards someone, Father, not even his."
My words seemed to hang in the air, the tension thickening as their eyes locked in a silent struggle. My chest tightened, my breath coming in uneven gasps. I turned toward my father, my voice shaking but resolute. "You have to believe me."
A heavy silence settled over the room, broken only by the distant echoes of the ongoing revelry. My father finally spoke, his voice low and laced with disappointment. "Anisha, I trust you. I believed in you. But now, you stand accused of a heinous act. How could you let your emotions blind you to the consequences?"
With every word, my heart shattered further, the weight of my father's disappointment crashing down upon me. I stepped closer, my voice quivering with desperation. "I didn't do it, Father. Please, you have to believe me."
My father's expression remained unyielding, his gaze unwavering. My vision blurred as tears welled in my eyes, my voice cracking as I implored, "I'm your daughter, Father. You know me better than anyone. You know I would never commit such an act."
A palpable tension hung in the air, the weight of accusation and doubt pressing upon my shoulders. I reached out, my fingers brushing against my father's arm. "Please, Father, don't let this tear us apart. I need your trust now more than ever."
An agonizing pause followed, the atmosphere thick with uncertainty. My father finally turned his gaze away. He features a portrait of conflicted emotions. My heart raced as I watched my father, my hope teetering on the edge of despair.
In a sudden and swift motion, my father's hand swung toward me, the sound of his slap resounding through the room. My head snapped to the side, my cheek stinging from the impact. My breath caught in my throat as I stared at my father in shock.
"Why, Anisha?" Father's voice was heavy with disappointment, his words cutting through the air like a blade. "You were meant to lead, to carry our legacy forward. But this act... has stained you beyond redemption."
My eyes brimmed with tears, my heartache a torrent of emotion threatening to overwhelm me. I stepped back, my legs faltering beneath me, my voice a broken whisper. "I swear, Father, I am innocent."
My father's gaze remained unyielding, his voice laced with finality. "It doesn't matter now. You have shattered the trust that bound us, and for that, I dismissed you from every right as a leader and member of the Dagger Syndicate Group."
My world shattered around me, my dreams of leadership and respect crumbling like fragile glass. I stumbled backward, my body trembling as my father's words echoed in my ears. The weight of accusation, the burden of disbelief, had irreversibly altered the course of my life.
Being exiled from the Dagger Syndicate Group meant more than just losing a title or position. It meant being cut off from the only family I had ever known. It meant being unprotected and vulnerable to the dangers of the world as well as to the enemies of the syndicate.
There were examples of being expelled from the group and then the enemies pouncing upon them to exploit their weakness and seek information or revenge.
I was the future leader of the group and now when I'm stripped of the title, a shudder passes through my body as the realization sinks in of the gravity of my situation. I'm the new target of those who wished to see the downfall of the Dagger Syndicate Group.
They'll stop at nothing to try to destroy me, to erase my existence from the world.
Just the thought of being hurled into the void, severed from my identity and doomed to non-being, sends a chill down my spine.
I fell on my knees, the weight of my father's judgment crushing me.
"Please, Father, you can snatch away my position, my title, and even my rights, but you cannot erase the love and loyalty I hold for our family. You can't expel me from the group. You know when I step a foot out of this mansion, I'll be vulnerable and unprotected towards our enemies and you know that they are merciless and relentless in their pursuit of power," I pleaded desperately to my father, my voice filled with desperation and fear.
"I may be tortured and killed during my exile, Father."
However, my father's gaze remained unmoved, his resolve unshakeable.
My father's gaze on me was cold and distant, devoid of any sympathy or compassion.
I'm very well aware if my father is unwilling to reconsider, I will have no choice but to face the dire consequences of being expelled from the Dagger Syndicate Group. And being his daughter, I am well aware that he is a man of his word, and once he makes a decision, there is no turning back.
"Mr. Robert, please show Anisha the way out," my father commanded his head of security as he stoically turned away from me, signifying that it sealed my fate and there was no room for the negotiation of my expulsion from the group.
Mr. Robert obediently nodded and ushered me towards the door with a solemn expression on his face.
Mr. Robert treated me like his daughter and, for a moment, I felt a glimmer of hope as he gently placed his hand on my shoulder and whispered, "Stay strong, Miss Anisha."
Mr. Robert guided me towards the exit of the mansion, his footsteps echoing in the grand hallway.
Once we reached the door of the mansion, he patted me on the back and opened the door for me to step into the outside world.
As I turned and walked away, the grandeur of the mansion seemed to close in around me, a cage of shattered hopes and fractured trust. The echoes of the past intertwined with the harsh reality of the present, leaving me adrift in a sea of uncertainty and sorrow. With each step, the path ahead grew darker, an uncertain journey through the shadows I had unwittingly cast upon myself.
