Chapter 14 A Billion-Dollar Contract
When Morrison Reeze received the phone call, he was at the hospital treating his wounds.
His forehead was cut, his face was swollen, and bruises covered his body.
With every pain, he cursed Tom in his heart. If it weren't for this damn guy, he wouldn't have ended up like this. He almost drowned in the river.
So, when he heard Tom's criticism, he couldn't help but curse back. But remembering George's warning, he reluctantly said, "Don't bother asking me about this, I don't know."
"I'm about to board a plane and travel abroad. You figure it out on your own."
After saying that, he hung up and turned off his phone.
Tom exploded in anger.
"Damn it! What rubbish! Taking my money and not doing the job for me!"
But Morrison Reeze was Mike Reeze's nephew, a prominent figure in Fonda, so he didn't dare to do anything.
Soon, Tom returned to the Harold family.
The Harold family was huge.
It was an estate.
On George's seventh birthday, his father, Samuel Harold, spent a large sum of money to buy this estate as a birthday gift for his son. Now, however, the Harold family had moved in and evicted George and Mia from their own home.
As soon as he entered, his grandfather, Charles Harold, saw Tom and smiled warmly. "Tom, where did you go today? Why do you look unhappy and angry? Who has upset you? Grandfather will help you vent your frustrations."
Tom replied coldly, "George!"
Charles Harold snorted, "That bastard? What qualifications does he have to mess with you now?"
Tom was stunned. "Bastard? Grandfather, isn't George your own son?"
Charles Harold's gaze flickered, and he quickly covered it up. "Ah, that's what I meant. That worthless piece of trash has already been expelled from the Harold family. What else can he be besides a bastard? Tell me, how did he provoke you?"
Tom said, "This piece of trash, despite having no ability, keeps talking big. He's still occupying Lily house and refusing to divorce her. He's shameless and disgusting."
Charles Harold's eyes lit up. "Tom, you like that Lily?"
Tom admitted directly, "Yes, I want to marry her."
If it were any other grandfather, upon hearing that his grandson wanted to marry his son's wife, they would have slapped him. But Charles Harold chuckled instead. "Tom, you've finally grown up. That Willow family's Lily is indeed beautiful. What's even rarer is that after marrying that piece of trash George, she remains pure. If you like her, Grandfather will pay a visit to the Willow family and propose on your behalf. I believe she will agree."
"Really? Thank you so much, Grandfather!"
"You are my grandson. If I don't help you, then who will? Just make sure to have some great-grandchildren for me after you get married! That deadbeat George is nothing but a useless waste, tarnishing the reputation of our Harold family. He doesn't deserve a wife."
...
Meanwhile at this moment, George directly sent a message to Marc, asking him to quickly deliver a big contract to Lily.
The Fonda Group was a large and influential conglomerate involved in various industries. By simply providing a big contract, Lily would be able to hold her head high in the Willow family...
Speaking of it.
The Florence family isn't having a great time in the Willow family.
The Willow family is led by the old lady.
The old lady has three sons, Benjamin Willow, Alexander Willow, and Joshua Willow.
Florence is the wife of the youngest son, Joshua Willow.
But when Lily was sixteen, Joshua Willow cheated on her with his beautiful secretary. Florence caught them in the act and caused a scene. The next day, Joshua Willow took the secretary to the desert for a trip and disappeared.
He vanished without a trace.
The old lady of the Willow family blames Florence for her son's disappearance. She can't stand her and their relationship turned icy, and it even affected Lily and Cassie, who were not liked either.
Soon, George received a response "Alright, young master. The contract, worth a billion altogether, can be finalized tomorrow."
During nighttime, George couldn't sleep and felt indebted to Lily during this time. He wanted to have a talk with her.
He gathered his courage and walked up to the second floor only to find that the door was unlocked and slightly opened.
He leaned in and said, "Lily..."
The next second, he was completely stunned.
Unexpectedly, Florence was inside, as if she had just finished showering. Her hair was wet, and she was wrapped in a towel, looking pure and seductive.
"Ah—"
Florence shouted, "You beast! Who told you to come upstairs? What are you trying to do in the middle of the night? Get out, get out now!"
The next moment, the entire Willow family was in chaos.
The old lady welcomed two unexpected visitors to the Willow’s family old mansion.
Charles Harold, the head of the Harold family.
Tom, the junior executive of the Harolds Group.
Compared to the Willows' Building Materials, the Harolds Group was a giant.
Upon learning their purpose of visit, the old lady was extremely surprised and said, "Sir Harold, Lily is already married. Are you sure that your grandson wants to marry her?"
Tom said, "That's right. I want to marry Lily! I won't hide it from you, Grandma Liu. I fell in love with Lily a long time ago, and I genuinely like her. Even if she's already married, it doesn't matter. Besides, her marriage with George is only in name."
The old lady said, "At least in terms of Master Harold's reputation, it's not very good. In fact, I also have a granddaughter named Evelyn Willow..."
Tom shook his head:
"I only want Lily," Charles Harold said with a smile. "Mrs. Willow, I heard that your business at Willows Building Materials hasn't been doing well recently. I am willing to help you through this difficult time."
As soon as these words were spoken, Mrs. Willow's second son, Alexander Willow, hurried over, his face full of excitement. He exclaimed, "Mom, I just received confirmation from Fonda Group that they have a billion-dollar contract ready to sign with us, Willows!"
"Oh, what great news! It's a tremendous piece of good news..." Mrs. Willow clapped her hands in joy. Then, a puzzled expression crossed her face as she looked at Charles Harold and suddenly realized, "Master Harold, you have such admirable influence! You were able to convince Fonda Group. Your vast network is truly impressive. I am grateful to you! I agree to this marriage proposal!"
Charles Harold was taken aback. He didn't even know anyone from Fonda Group. However, he managed to say, "Haha, it's nothing really, Fonda Group's Marc and I have a close relationship. It was just a matter of saying a few words. I am willing to do anything, as long as it helps the Willow family."
Mrs. Willow beamed, "You've done us a great favor! Tom, Grandma really likes you. Tomorrow is the anniversary celebration of our Willows Building Materials, so I will announce your wedding with Lily at the banquet. How does that sound to you?"
Tom was overjoyed, "Thank you, thank you, Grandma!"
