Lynn got Isabella involved
Lynn became more interested in Edward’s troubled expression than the soft weight of the baby in her arms. She watched him carefully, her brows knitting with gentle concern.
Despite the glow of fatherhood and the sight of his infant son resting peacefully, Edward seemed swallowed by a heavy, invisible burden.
“Why have I made such a costly mistake?” he thought, his mind spiraling. “Why did I ever believe I was wise enough—strong enough—to handle this?”
“Why do you worry?” Lynn’s voice broke softly into his thoughts. Her warm palm settled on his shoulder.
Edward looked at her and forced a smile. “It’s nothing,” he whispered, pretending.
“You seem troubled about Isabella. And the oath you swore before the pack members.” Lynn shifted closer beside him—then winced as a sharp ache flickered through her waist.
“Easy—relax,” Edward said quickly. He reached to support her, but a faint cry from the baby stopped him.
“I think he’s crying,” she murmured.
Edward hurried over, gently gathering his son into his arms. As soon as he looked into the child’s bright, curious eyes, a tender smile broke across his face. The baby reached for his chin and giggled.
“I wish… I wasn’t careless with my words,” Edward whispered. Tears burned his eyes. “I wish my heart was big enough to hold only joy right now.”
Slowly, almost reluctantly, he stepped back to Lynn and placed the child into her arms again.
“I invited Isabella to the baby’s naming ceremony,” Lynn said quietly, adjusting the infant against her shoulder.
The words struck Edward like a blow.
“You invited Isabella?” he repeated sharply, stunned. “What was her response?”
“She hasn’t replied yet… but I hope she’ll come.”
Edward stared at her, his voice tight. “Do you believe she will? Lynn—this is like mocking yourself. And mocking me. How do you expect her to—”
Lynn pressed her finger to his lips.
“Let’s hope so,” she whispered.
The room fell into a warm stillness. The baby fixed his eyes on Lynn—staring with a strange focus far beyond his days.
Then he turned to Edward and broke into a brighter smile, a smile so pure that Edward’s heart softened instantly. He felt himself drawn into that innocent joy like metal to a magnet.
Back at Desmond and Isabella’s home
“You are going nowhere,” Desmond said firmly, stepping in front of her as she folded a shawl into her travel bag.
“I haven’t honored the invitation yet, my love,” Isabella replied softly. “I have not decided.”
“You are my everything,” Desmond said, his voice trembling. “You gave me a heir, Isabella. I cannot risk allowing you to attend Lynn’s ceremony. I do not need her appreciation. She has already done... enough.” His anger rose suddenly, cracking through the room.
Mrs. Evelyn, seated quietly in the corner, gasped in disbelief. “He shouted at Isabella…” she murmured.
Something inside Isabella snapped.
Her wolf surged forward—furious, protective, ancient. A violent wave of power rushed through her. Isabella dropped to her knees, clutching her chest as the energy roared inside her like a trapped storm.
“Isabella! Isabella!” Desmond called, reaching for her in panic.
“Call the healer!” he ordered.
When the healer arrived, he halted abruptly, almost losing balance under the pressure of Isabella’s energy.
“What is the problem?” Desmond demanded.
The healer shifted uneasily. “Her wolf is angered. You must have shouted at her.”
Regret washed over Desmond instantly.
“What should I do?” he asked desperately.
“That… I cannot answer.” The healer backed away, gathering his tools nervously. “Only someone she loves deeply—someone her wolf trusts without question—can calm her. She is the greatest healer. If anyone can reach her now… it is that person.”
Then he left quickly.
Desmond sank beside Isabella, tormented.
Mrs. Evelyn paced, her hands trembling. Clara and Flora appeared, frightened by the trembling walls and the scent of unstable wolf aura filling the house.
Desmond pressed his forehead to Isabella’s hand. “Should I allow her to attend Lynn and Edward’s ceremony?” he whispered to himself. “What if she sees William? What if she feels drawn back to the pack…?”
The weight crushed him.
Finally, he lifted his head.
“Let me try this,” he breathed.
He leaned close to Isabella’s ear.
“I permit you,” he said.
But nothing happened. Isabella’s wolf sensed the lie. It was not from his heart.
Desmond swallowed hard, closed his eyes, and dug into the deepest truth inside him. He inhaled her scent, remembered the first day she smiled at him, remembered the child she bore him.
Then he spoke again—this time from the very core of his soul.
“You can go to the ceremony, Isabella.”
The moment the words left his heart, the air shifted. Isabella exhaled softly. Peace replaced the rage. Her wolf calmed. Her fingers twitched. Her eyelids fluttered open.
“Isabella…” Desmond breathed and held her carefully.
She smiled faintly. “We are all going together.”
Hope filled Desmond’s chest. Mrs. Evelyn sighed with relief. Clara and Flora wiped their tears.
Little did they know—destiny had already begun moving its unseen pieces into place.

THE DAY OF THE NAMING CEREMONY
Edward stood outside the ceremonial grounds, adjusting the baby’s cloak while his heart raced.
Lynn glanced repeatedly toward the distant pathway. “Do you think she’ll come?” she whispered.
“I don’t know,” Edward muttered, dread tightening his chest. “Maybe she won’t.”
Pack members murmured among themselves. Some were anxious, others excited. The presence of Alpha William, seated on his throne-like seat, added tension. He did not know of the invitation, yet something in the air made him restless.
William kept watching the entrance—unaware of why he felt expectant.
Minutes passed.
Then—
The wind changed direction. The leaves trembled. Birds scattered.
A deep rumble rolled across the land.
Lynn gasped. “Something is coming…”
Edward froze.
Even William stood.
A crack of thunder tore the sky open though the sun was high. The ground beneath them trembled—a slow, powerful vibration that traveled from the forest edge straight into the heart of the ceremony ground.
Every wolf felt it.
Every wolf recognized it.
A she-wolf of ancient lineage was approaching.
Then… a figure appeared at the forest line.
Isabella.
Walking beside her were Desmond, Mrs. Evelyn, Clara, and Flora.
The moment Isabella stepped her foot onto the ceremonial grounds—
BOOOM!
A thunderclap struck the sky.
The earth shook violently.
Winds spiraled around her, lifting her hair and cloak. Her wolf rose behind her like a colossal shadow—glowing, building, expanding. Power poured out of her in waves, rippling through the soil, the trees, the souls of every wolf present.
Gasps filled the air.
“She is the strongest…”
“She returned…”
“Her power… it’s greater than before…”
Some wolves fell to their knees from shock alone.
Even William’s breath caught. He stepped forward, his heart pounding uncontrollably. For a heartbeat, he believed—
She came back for me.
But Isabella’s eyes swept past him—calm, focused, untouched by the old bond.
William froze, shattered by the truth.
Isabella moved closer, surrounded by her family. Desmond walked with pride. Mrs. Evelyn held her hands together as tears welled in her eyes. Clara and Flora walked behind, humbled by the immense energy filling the ground.
The pack members finally understood the magnitude of who had arrived.
She was no longer just Isabella.
She was the wolf the ancestors whispered of.
The lost strength of the she-wolves reborn.
The protector.
The storm.
The mother of balance.
And then—one by one, starting from the eldest warrior to the youngest trainee—
the pack dropped to their knees.
Everywhere around her, wolves bowed their heads to the earth, trembling, begging, praying.
Begging her—
to return.
Desmond couldn't react, he has to hold himself even though he was so angry.
Isabella looked at Lynn and said
" You invited me for your child naming ceremony, not to accept apology from your people." She replied Lynn.
" Am, am....." Lynn almost stammered when Edward kneeled down.
" If not for my sake but for the sake of the pack memebers." William pleaded.
" That is impossible." Desmond said at behind..
" Let the ceremony continue please." Isabella said.
