Chapter 99 99

Chapter 99 99
Vanessa's POV

"Stop it, already." Bryan rocked my back and forth.

"I can't... I can't believe this!" Becca screamed, pacing around the room.

I was tossing the umpteenth crunched up tissue on the floor, my eyes all red and puffed from crying.

"Do you want me to end him?" Bryan asked.

"Is that even a question?" Becca asked. "When I visit him, I'm going to dig a knife into his shapeless penis and drag it down"

"Yuck! You know I'm a guy right?" Bryan scrunched up his nose in disgust

"I speak only the truth, Bryan. Nobody messes with my homegirl and goes scot-free" Becca said.

"I'm sorry for calling you two. It's getting late and you can both go" I sniffed, damping my wet cheeks.

"No!" They both said simultaneously.

"You guys don't have to..."

"We insist" Becca sat close to me, pulling me into her body, this time. "I'm sorry I let this happen to you."

"It's not your fault" I shook my head, the tears increasing.

"It is. I was so busy with Matthew, I wasn't there to keep an eye on Richard. I didn't check if he was suitable for you"

"What are you? A police?" I laughed weakly.

"Detective" Bryan chimed in.

"You guys! I'm trying to nail a line here!" Becca yelled, making me laugh a little.

"I'll take care of the child, okay?" Bryan held my hands as he spoke.

"You don't have to" I shook my head.

"Ouch, that's ticklish" Becca chuckled, pushing me away from her chest.

"Very comforting" I said sarcastically.

"I'm sorry.. I just felt sensitive there" Becca pulled me into her chest again

Every word he said ran through my head. "He called me a whore" I began to cry again.

"This is not good for you, Vee" Becca said, patting my back.

"I don't know how to make it stop" I sniffed

"Will sweet things help?" Bryan asked.

"No, but death will" I cried, tugging onto Becca's shirt tightly. "I... I can't breathe."

"What?" I heard Becca yell, fear in her voice

I tried to suck in air but it was difficult. The tears didn't stop still as I struggled to breathe.

"Vee! Look at me" Bryan's voice was audible enough for me to catch on. "Look at me, Vanessa"

I managed to look at him. "Panic attack?" Rebecca asked.

I was having panic attack? Since when?

"Just breathe, hunnie. You can do it" He held my hand, rubbing on the back of my thumb soothingly. "Breathe in with me, hunnie"

I did as he instructed, waiting for the next directive. By the time I repeated the breathe in and out routine for a couple of times, I got myself.

"Where did that come from?" Rebecca asked, tears brimmed her eyes.

"Shhhh!!!" Bryan calmed me down. "Stop crying okay? It's okay to have panic attacks sometimes"

I nodded in response.

"I heard what happened and rushed down here." Chelsea appeared all of a sudden.

"You mean 'we', Chelsea" Ava spoke up next.

"What are you two doing here?" I sat up, looking between them.

"You don't want them here?" Becca stood up. I could see the fire in her eyes. She'd do whatever I told her to do.

Chelsea fell to the ground, her hands on my knee. I don't know why but she was crying. "Why are you crying?" I sniffed, cleaning my teary eyes as I stared at her.

"I'm sorry! I'm so ashamed to call him my brother" Chelsea wailed like a child.

"Are you really pregnant?" Ava asked, kneeling beside Chelsea.

"What kind of question is that?" Becca chimed in. I raised my eyes to meet hers giving her a look that said 'take it easy'

"Yes, I am." I nodded.

"Its really that dumb heads baby right?" Ava asked.

"Once again, Girl! What kind of question is that?" Becca screamed.

"Just stop talking." Chelsea slapped her sisters thigh.

"It's not Richard's child. It's only mine" I answered honestly. "Richard have lost all the right to this child"

"I'm so sorry. I'm going to make sure he -"

"Seriously, Ava. I don't want his apology anymore. He hurt me deep and ... and it's not something sorry can fix" I said honestly.

"I'm so sorry" Chelsea said repeatedly as she cried on my leg.

"Can ... Can you all stop crying. I'm the one who was denied" I chuckled lightly amidst my tears.

"I'll go get you girls something to eat after the tears" Bryan said before leaving.

"Why's Jason calling me?" I looked at Rebecca skeptically.

"I didn't tell him anything!" She raised her hands up in defense.

"Tell him I'm busy" I gave her the phone. I knew if I talked to him I'd be tempted to tell him everything and probably cry to him.

Becca excused herself. The only thing I was waiting for was a text from one person.

"Vanessa, we can take care of you. If you let us" Ava said softly, holding my hands.

"Thank you, Ava but I'm big enough and wealthy enough to fend for my child and I" I said, holding her hands too.

"I will get to the root of this, I swear" Ava said. "I must get to the root of this"

"We" Chelsea chimed in.

"It'll be late. I'd advice you both not to waste your energy" I pleaded.

"She has replied" Becca said. "She said yes"

"You want to remove the baby?" Ava asked, panic written all over her face.

"You can't do that!" Chelsea shook her head. "I beg you"

"I..."

"Just let us take care of you. I promise, you'll not be suicidal under our watch." Ava begged.

"Then what happens when your brother shows up with his new wife? I can't let your family break my sister" Becca sneered.

"Becca, why would you say that?" Chelsea asked.

"Oh please. I left her in your brother's care and look at her. I'd be a fool to leave her in your family's care" Becca spat.

"It's enough" I cried. "Don't fight because of me"

"I'm out of here. I'll make sure i get all the necessary documents" Becca hissed before picking her bag and storming off.

"What document?"

"I ... I can't raise my child in such cruel environment. I don't think I'll be able to do that and that's why I'll be moving away"
