Chapter 94 94
Vanessa's POV
Two weeks later
It's been two weeks since Richard and I last saw and that was the night of the masquerade dinner. For some reason, I can't seem to remember what happened after we left.
Don't drink strong alcohol, guys!
However, I know it was a great night because I was feeling all exhausted and sore the next morning. I woke up feeling sad because he disappeared before I could wake up. He ordered breakfast for me and also dropped a letter saying he had an important meeting at the office. Judging by my wobbly legs that morning and the shredded dress I disposed of later on, I could tell that we had a great time. However, I was having the feeling that i did something wrong but I just couldn't point it out.
"Hey ya! Look who the cat dragged out of the bag." Rebecca yelled loudly, strolling into MY office. Right behind her was Chelsea.
"Welcome bosses" I greeted them, dropping my iPad on the desk. I was working on a design for a wedding.
"I know you had how I barged in. You can't even hide the irritation in your voice" Becca laughed, claiming a seat
"Did you miss me or did you miss me?" Chelsea asked, claiming the other vacant seat.
"I really don't want to talk about you" I shook my head at Chelsea, ignoring Rebecca because I didn't know what to say. She went MIA.
"I'm sorry, I was caged by a married man's dick" Chelsea blurted out
"Shut up!" Becca said, swatting Chelsea on her shoulder playfully.
"No shit, girl!" Chelsea said
"So, you've graduated to married men?" I asked, looking at her unbelievably.
"It wasn't intentional but-"
"It was a good dick yeah?" Rebecca said, cutting her off
"Brooo!!! It was heaven. I've never been stuck on the bed for 5 hours because of a dicks effect" Chelsea said to Rebecca who was so much interested in her conversation.
"So, that's why you've been working from home, secretary?" I smirked at her
"I'm sorry!!! It was just too good. Meanwhile, I know it was wrong but in my defence, I didn't know the guy was married until later on and I had to take three more shots before I dumped him" Chelsea said, shrugging.
"These men" I laughed. "He didn't have a ring on?"
"The first four times we met, he had no ring on" Chelsea said
"Or you could've been blinded by his handsomeness not to see it" Rebecca laughed
"That too!" Chelsea agreed, laughing. I laughed as well because it was funny. "Let me show you guys his picture!" Chelsea digged into her small purse for her phone and began to scroll
"Oh shit!" Rebecca yelled when Chelsea flashed the phone in her face.
"Let me see!" I yelled, my curiosity kicking in. "holy shit!!! This is one fine ass man!!" I shook my head. He didn't look married though
Wait, does marriage now show on the face, Vanessa?
Anyway, the truth of the matter is that he looked too young to be called someone's husband. Okay, argument closed. No more debating.
"Tell me how I could've resisted that temptation girl!" Chelsea laughed.
"You're pardoned for being absent from work" I said, earning laughters from my girls.
"Damn, if I knew that was the key then I would've shown you his picture earlier" Chelsea said.
"Hey! It's just this time" I warned. "No slacking off"
"I promise, ma" Chelsea saluted. "How have things been going?"
"Well, I think Matthew is in love with me." Becca blurted out
"For real?!" Chelsea and I yelled simultaneously
"Jinx!" I laughed, pointing at her for saying same thing with me
"What are you? Five?" Chelsea rolled her eyes playfully. I stoned her a crunched up paper.
"Tell us" I said to Rebecca.
"I don't know but there's something he said he wants to tell me. He's really shy to say it and said he'll tell me when the time is right. The way he treats me these days. Oh my goodness" Rebecca said dreamily, placing her hand on her chest.
"God when?" Chelsea yelled, raising her hand to the ceiling.
"Girl, you need to not ask him such question. I'm pretty much sure he's mad at you for goofing around with a married man" Rebecca said, making us laugh.
"Nah, he understands" Chelsea said
"I haven't forgotten about the masquerade dinner, bitch. I was waiting to see if you'll call me the next day to tell me about it but you didn't. Fake ass best friend" Rebecca frowned
Oh!
I didn't really think it was necessary
"Well, I'm sorry. I didn't think you'd want to hear much about it. I didn't want to pepper you much" I laughed.
"You went for Lux Dinner Re-Opening?!" Chelsea yelled
"And Did." I nodded admitting to it.
"Lucky girl. Who's giving my brother these dating tips. Goshhhh" Chelsea laughed. "He's getting good"
"Matthew" Becca said proudly
"Oh please" I rolled my eyes at her.
"What then happened after the night? Did he take you to the sex dungeon?" Rebecca asked me. "You should've seen her! She looked to hot to not fuck with restraints on"
"Damn! I can imagine" Chelsea smiled
"I'm right here and funny enough, I still can't wrap my head around what happened the night after we left the dinner" I said honestly.
"Nah, you're just trying to hoard the dirty deets" Becca frowned
"I swear, I'm being serious!" I said.
"How's that possible?" Chelsea questioned. "Did you take too much alcohol?"
"Not really. I mean, it wasn't that much." I said, sighing
"That's unusual, you know? You don't remember making love? Did you even make love?" Rebecca folded her arms
"Yes." I smiled.
"And how do you know when you can't remember the details of that night" Rebecca smirked
"I saw hickeys and I woke up feeling sore down there. I also woke up to a letter from him."
"You mean, he left you there" Chelsea yelled. "My brother!" She groaned
"He had an important business meeting" I said immediately.
"Whatever.. Maybe it's after effect of the alcohol. I'm sure you'll remember it later" Chelsea said
"I've never gone through that before." Rebecca said. "Oh well, like Chels said, you might remember later"
"He fucked the memory off" Chelsea laughed
"Please, enough" I closed my ears.
"Heard from him?" Rebecca asked concerned.
"Not really. We just talk briefly on phone and he told me prior to this time that he'll be on a business trip after the diner." I sighed. "However, something feels odd about his demeanor towards me."
"He's busy like you said, don't over think it" Rebecca said.
"How's Paula? Rebecca said she came to apologize" Chelsea said
"Her fake ass apology" I laughed. "I haven't heard from her since then though"
"I'm sure she's sucking some rich man's dick." Chelsea rolled her eyes
"Enough with the Blackwood drama." Rebecca yawned. "Who's sponsoring lunch today?"
"I will!" Chelsea yelled, raising her hand up. She stood up, pulling Rebecca up too
"You're trying to soothe me" I laughed standing up
"Not everything is about you, Vanessa" Rebecca said
"Girl, please" I said, laughing. "I have only 1 hour to spare"
"Okay boss" Chelsea said, leaving the office first. Vanessa and I followed suit. I locked my office and dropped the key with the assistant secretary who has been holding up fine ever since Chelsea went MIA.
"I'll drive. So I can leave you guys when my lunch period is over" I smiled, pulling them by their hands, to my car.
"I see!" Rebecca laughed, getting into the passengers seat.
"I'm smart right?" I wiggled my eyebrow at her, shutting my door before buckling my seatbelt
"Like she'd ever admit that" Chelsea laughed, getting comfortable at the back seat
"Thank you!" Rebecca laughed, refusing to buckle the seatbelt. As usual.
I revived my engine and sped off to our favourite spot to eat. After parking my car, we all came down. I could see a familiar figure through the transparent glass but I had to go closer to see the person clear
"Is that not Richard and Paula having lunch?" Becca asked
I wasn't blind after all.
