Vanessa's POV
Three Months Later
Let's fast forward to 3 months after my sister and niece's visit or rather holiday.
A lot of things had happened in those 3 months but the most interesting part is the part where I traveled all the way to California to launch my business. In other words, I'm expanding and I'm open to business in New York City and California!
Give me my flowers!!!
Anyway, I've also been so busy with work. The work increased overtime and I made new employment of staffs for better delivery of quality event. I put Brittany in charge of California branch for now. That girl is really handling business beautifully well there and Chelsea is also trying her best with assisting me over here. I like that she knows when to play and when to be very serious.
"The only time we have to each other after being sucked by work and responsibility will be snatched from us by one of the responsibilities!" Richard frowned, tossing his jacket on the couch.
"What's happening?" I asked, looking away from my email.
"Daisy is -"
"Uncle Richy! I'm here!!!" A tiny voice yelled, cutting Richard off
"...here already" He ruffled his hair. "I'm coming Dai" He yelled back
"Daisy is here?" I smiled brightly
"Hi, Uncle and Aunty!" Daisy smiled at us, as she stood akimbo. Mind you, the door was opened. "I knew I'd find you here!" She smiled, running to hug me
"Hi Daisy! How are you? You look so pretty!" I picked her up and placed her on the bed
"Mummy said I look like princess Cinderella with my blue gown, is that true?" She smiled at me
"Mummy is very correct" I nodded in affirmation
"Do you want to know who my prince charming is?" She asked.
"Yes please!" I nodded again
"Uncle Richy!" She said, giggling afterwards.
"Am I?" Richard smirked. "But I don't look charming"
"That's true" Daisy said, tapping her chin
"Ouch, Daisy!" Richard clutched his chest dramatically, making me laugh
Children! So innocent.
"I can make you look charming but first I need to put something in my stomach." She said, looking at me. "Uncle Richy can you please go get my bag from the living room. The big man refused to follow me into your room"
I guess the big man she's referring to, is Mateo.
"Yes I will, your highness" Richard bowed
"Hurry please!" She giggled again. "What do you and Uncle do in this room, Aunty Vanessa?"
"We sleep" i was really careful with my words
"Only?"
"What do you mean?" I tried to hold back my laugh
"Don't you guys play games?" She began to jump on the bed
"Careful! You'll fall"
"Big girls don't fall. Nah nah!" She shook her head.
"Is this the bag?" Richard came back with a pink bag.
"Ah ha! Mummy made a list of things I love" She ran to take the bag from him
"Your mummy and I need to talk seriously after today" Richard smirked, making me chuckle because I understood what he meant.
They don't talk. They fight and argue.
"I can give you her number!" She said, handing him the handwritten note. "Can you read that?"
"What do you take me for, Daisy?" He chuckled
"Okay then! Can I get cereals now? That'll really make me feel good!" She pulled my hand.
"Huh?" I stood up from the bed, following her
"Let's go make cereals" She said, skipping. "I. Can't. Seem. To. Open. This. Door" She said struggling with the door knob.
"Oh darling!" I pulled her back and helped her with it.
"But Daisy we don't have all this things mummy wrote here" Richard said, following us
"Why are you my prince charming then? Get them" She smiled
How old is this woman again?
"You heard her" I smirked, picking out a box of cereal from the cupboard
"This is a nightmare" He muttered
"What was that?" Daisy raised her eyebrow at Richard
"I said, Aunty Vanessa will get it for you today" He smirked at me.
"Yes love, I will. I'll go change my clothes and head to the grocery shop" I smiled at her.
Did he think that would make me angry or something. I really have soft spot for kids.
"Thank you!!! I promise to make Uncle Richy charming before you get back okay?"
"Okay. I'll be back" I excused myself. Richard was begging me with his eyes not to go but I ignored his pleading looks
Serves him right.
I quickly changed into something simple and dashed out of the house with the list. I'm sure Sasha did this to deliberately punish Richard because she thought he'll be the only one to babysit Daisy today.
I know that Daisy is going to give Richard a hard time today. I wonder what she has up her sleeve now. I'm so going to be entertained. I love kids!
After walking back and forth through every shelve, I finally got everything and paid for it with my card. I stocked it in the car and drove back home.
When I got into the house, it was very quiet. You'd think Richard had killed Daisy already but I know that's not true. So I just used the opportunity to stock everything inside the cupboard. I put the ice cream I got for her in the freezer. I put on my apron and began to make tacos because that's one of the things on her list.
"No, Daisy!" I heard Richard yell
"You refused to look charming so this is the least I can do. Put it on, Uncle" I heard Daisy yell too
Oh goodness! I really want to see what's going on. I'm already smiling at myself
The house went quiet again for a while and so I just quickly rounded up everything I was doing.
"Aunty Vanessa! I have a surprise!!!" Daisy yelled. I could hear her footstep draw closer to the kitchen
"I've been waiting" I answered sincerely.
"Uncle doesn't look happy though" Daisy pouted
"Oh no baby, I'm sure he is very happy. Can I see the surprise now?" I asked eagerly. I was so curious.
"Come out, uncle Richy!" She yelled. "Don't be shy. You look pretty"
Immediately Richard came out, I couldn't help but burst into fits of laughter. I ended up falling on the ground, slapping the floor as I laughed out everything in me.
Standing in front of me was the CEO of Blackwood dressing in MY gown and his face was padded with make up.
I quickly took my phone out of my pocket and took shots of this moment.
"Take that down!"
"You look so pretty! Thank you Daisy for making him look so pretty" I laughed, cleaning the tears from my eyes
"You're welcome! I knew I did a good job even though Uncle doesn't appreciate it" She smiled. "Can you take us more pictures? Pose uncle or else I'm going to feel so bad" She pouted
This is emotional blackmail! Damn girl!
"Okay baby girl" Richard tried to smile while I took enough pictures.
"Gosh! I love you Daisy!" I winked at Richard who was glaring at me. "I made tacos anyway"
"Yayyy!!! Show me!!" She ran to meet me.
"I'll be back" Richard said.
"Sure, princess" I mocked, leading Daisy to the dinning table
"After eating, what next?" Daisy asked
"We'll watch Moana. Have you seen that cartoon?" I asked her, serving her
"Yes! And Encanto too!!" She yelled, excitedly.
"Make your choice baby" I smiled at her
"Luca!" She said
"Okay, I'll download Luca once we're done eating" I said, serving Richard who just sat down
"There you are! You now look like my prince charming" Daisy smiled
"I beg to differ" Richard said, making me laugh
"Eat fast. We have Luca to watch. He's fine!" Daisy smiled
"You now know fine guys, Daisy?" Richard chuckled
"Yes, of course!"
"Oh wow!" He shook his head before taking a bite of the taco. "Mhmmm... This is very nice"
"Thank you" I smiled
"Is she your wife?" Daisy asked
"Daisy please eat" Richard groaned.
I really wanted to hear his reply but anyway.
"I'll be waiting for you guys there" she pointed at the couch
"Sure" I smiled, watching her run
"Handful?" Richard asked
"Cute" I replied
"Of fucking course!" He groaned
"I'm waiting!!!" Daisy yelled, making us get up quickly
