Three Weeks Later
Everything between Richard and I have been going smoothly. He's been really trying his best to make the happiest woman. A man really can treat a lady right if he wants to or if he puts his mind to.
We've gone to the cinema together except that we got thrown out for shouting. It was the best night of my life. It was good to carefree, just like a child. We went shopping together. We tried out new restaurants. We did video calls on nights we couldn't be together. We both went on a jet lag. It was awesome! The list just goes on and on and on!
Oh, yeah! We fucked. A lot too. But with protection, of course. Though, I finally renewed my birth control so that mistakes doesn't happen.
"I need to expand" I hit the couch, getting Richards attention
I throw myself on the couch, mistakenly poking his rib with my toe. I muttered a quick sorry but that didn't save me from the death glare
We were currently spending the weekend at his place. It's my turn to stay over this week.
"Expand your body size?" He laughed nervously. "I'm not complaining about your petite body, cupcake" He puts his laptop away and gives me his full attention
"What the -why would I want to expand my body size? Gee, thanks. People are working out to have this body of mine and all I do is eat freely and do nothing to maintain it but however, it still doesn't fall out of shape"
I've never been insecure about my body. I always loved how I could not visit the gym and still be in shape.
"Okay? So what then are we expanding?" He began to rub his hands lightly on my legs that were stretched on his thigh
"My business!" I smiled. "So I have a branch in Spain, Canada, California, London. Though not fully running as I'm still in the building stage. I already have started laying foundation but it's been on hold as I've been too focus on this one here in New York but I really want to set up those other ones"
"Okay that's beautiful. Which of them is close to the finishing point?" He picked his phone up from his side
"The one in Canada" I huffed
"I'm contacting my contractor right now. We'll have a meeting with him on Monday and get it on it's feet and running" Richard said.
"Oh my God! You don't have to. I got this, Richy" I said immediately
"Allow me do this. I'll cover up the expenses for the completion while you take care of the interior design expenses. I'd love to cover that too but so you don't nag a lot, I'll let you cover that" He dropped his phone after typing something on his phone
"Richy.." I pouted
"I love when you call me that" He parted my leg and crawled in between. He placed a sweet kiss on my lips. "Let me take care of my woman's need, okay?"
"But I have the resources too" I wrap my hands around his neck while he wrapped his hand around my waist, resting his head on my breast
"Give it a rest woman!" He bit my breast softly, earning a smack at the back of his head. "What was that for!"
"The biting was uncalled for" I laughed
"It's my breast anyway so I can do whatever I like" He said, buring his face in my chest
"Since it's on my chest, I get to reduce how you manhandle it." I said, ruffling his hair
"This is the best place to be" He said into my breast
"I don't know what to do with you sometimes" I shook my head
"Aha! Since Christmas is next month and New Year's Eve is close too, what's the plan?" He raised his head to look at me
"I will be working." I simply said
"You don't celebrate Christmas?" He sat up properly.
"Well, I did... Until my grand parents died. You see, my parents are not too good at being present for anything. They really thought life was all about providing money and all. So, my siblings and I are not into these things anymore after my grand parents who were fans of it died. We just basically stayed at home together, watching movie series and sleeping." I laughed
"My mother would kill me if I missed Thanksgiving" Richard laughed. "I wish I could because my family are a lot. We have more women than men in my house" He groaned. "How about you come celebrate thanksgiving at least, and New Year's Eve. You don't need to celebrate Christmas" He smiled
"Baby, you know that's the period work gets bubbling. Too many events would be rolling in. They'll need me so I think I'll have to bail out of this one" I leaned in to peck his lips
"Oh that's true." He said sadly
"However, I'll be traveling to Canada to visit my Auntie Shirley and also because I want to ensure that I start creating awareness about what's about to hit them and beg her son to keep an eye on it for me till its complete." I said, enjoying the feeling of his hand on my back
"How long would you be gone?" He asked
"5 days only. But that'll be around New Year." I said
"How about this. My Auntie Karen would be coming from Nigeria during New Year too and we'll be having a big family brunch. I would love for you to be there. At least, it's another step in whatever we're trying to build between us too. You'll get to meet my family. I promise you'll only stay for one day and then you can travel to meet your Auntie Shirley even though I do not want you to go" Richard said softly
"Uhh.. that can work." I smiled
"Really? You'd come?"
"Yes, I will" I laughed when he started shaking me in excitement
"I'll survive New Year's Eve!!!" He yelled happily. "How about your family and friends, how would they cope?"
"Oh. Jason's wedding is February so he's letting Silver spend her last Christmas and Eve with her family. Autumn would be going over to Edward's parents house to spend Christmas and New Year's Eve. Their baby is really growing fast and she needs the connection with her grandparents" I chuckled
"So you were the only left out one?"
"Not completely since I had plans of traveling to meet my aunt. Now, I have a family New Year's Eve to attend too" I smiled, resting my head on his chest.
"One day, you'd also have to spend your time with my family every New Year's Eve and Christmas" He pecked my hair
"Are you saying you have an intention to put a ring on this thing we have going?" I teased
"I guess we'll have to find out" He chuckled, holding me tight. "When's Jason's wedding?"
"Why?"
"I need to buy him a big gift. It's an apology gift for acting like a douche to him that day at the office and to be on his good side so he doesn't sideline me when I finally let him in on my intentions concerning his twin" He said
"Oh! My brother doesn't hold grudges for long. He understood the whole things too. But still get him the gift anyway. Something relating to Medical. Besides, it's February... The month of love" I chuckled
"Thanks for the hint on what to get." He said and I just nod. We stayed silent for a while, enjoying our physical comfort. I don't know what you heard but being cuddled by a man is bliss. "Vanessa?"
"Yes, Richard?" I looked at him skeptically, at the use of my full name.
"Would you be my date to your brothers wedding?" He smiled
Really?!!! That's why he called my full name?
"I'm waiting" He said anxiously
