Lover's Doubts, Lover's Truth.
*Angel*
Gray had given me the best day I could have asked for. After our little entanglement the day before, they took me shopping and then out to eat afterward instead of cooking. That was unfortunate because I was really looking forward to them cooking us a meal, but after that, we cuddled up together on the couch and watched movies until we fell asleep in one another's arms. Now it was the next day, late in the morning closing in on the start of the afternoon. I woke up in Gray's large bed, so I assumed that they had woken up sometime during the night and carried me into their room with them.
They were shirtless in the bed next to me, their back muscles flexing as they hugged their pillow with their arms, laying on their stomach. I sat up, hugging the silk-threaded sheet to my chest nervously. I still wasn't accustomed to waking up in the same bed with another woman, not at all. Slowly I climbed out of bed, the bottom of my bare feet coming in contact with the cold tile flooring of their bedroom. I hoped not to wake them, so I slowly, carefully, and quietly made my way into the bathroom.
I stripped out of my clothes before going to grab myself a towel and washcloth, the towel I placed on top of the lid of the toilet in a neat fold until I needed it later. Afterward, I strode over to the shower and stepped in. Turning on the water, I made sure the temperature was just right as the water cascaded down my naked body. "Good morning.." I heard a raspy voice speak to me from the other side of the room. I turned around just halfway to look toward the bed behind the glass door of the shower.
Gray was awake, sitting up in their spot on the bed beneath the sheets looking right at me as the warm water glistened on the surface of my skin like glitter. I witnessed them rub the crust in their eyes away, the silk sheet just barely covering their breast. When I woke up I noticed they were only in their boxer briefs, with no sports bra in sight. And Surprisingly, they didn't have any sort of a tan line on their back. "Good morning Gray. I hope you got enough sleep."
"I did, But um...I'm going to be a bit busy from here on out." While I listened to their words, I began washing away the invisible dirt on my skin. Rolling my eyes the more they spoke, "When are you never busy Gray? I get it you're going to be busy. You really don't have to tell me, it's the usual routine and I've become quite accustomed to it if not to anything else."
A heavy sigh escaped them as they got themselves out of bed, rubbing the back of their head as they slowly and groggily strode to the shower and pulled the glass door open. "Don't say it like that. You sound as if you think I mean to leave you and give all of my attention to my priorities princess." They were already out of their boxer by the time they made it to the shower, in which they just climbed right in and wrapped their arms around my waist. Their naked body hugged mine from behind. "Sorry if it sounds that way then. and could you not do things like that as well, we aren't a couple and I surely don't want the wrong Idea wandering around in my head."
I felt Gray's hold of their arms around my waist loosen at my words before their arms fell to their sides and were no longer holding me close to them. "Is that how you feel or think, Angel?" I could sense the heartbreak in their voice, but that only made me want to die in a ditch really. I felt bad for the things I was saying to them, but it was how I felt. And if they could be honest and one-hundred percent with me about everything, then I should be able to, too. I hugged myself with my arms, my head held low as I looked at my own feet.
"Angel, look at me baby girl.." Their voice came out as a soft whisper as their hands turned me around gently, then suddenly a finger was lifting my chin so I was looking up at them. Which I quickly shifted my eyes off to the side so I was looking at anything but them. "If I have to say it, then I will. I like you, princess, matter of fact I'm in love with you and want to spend the rest of my miserable life with you. It's not cars or money that makes me happy it's you and you alone. When I first laid on you, I knew it was love at first sight. I'd do absolutely anything for you and your love. Having you as my wife someday would be a dream come true."
I felt tears rise to the surface of my eyes and fall down my cheeks, I didn't know what to say or how to respond. I was taken aback by their sudden confession that I felt my heart would leap out of my chest and burst. "I mean every word beautiful. And..if it weren't for Cayla causing me so much trouble you'd have my attention twenty-four-seven. But, since she stands in my- our way I can't let my guard down. She's out for blood, and I can't let her win. It'd kill me if the unthinkable happened to you when I know I could have prevented it. I'm sorry that I can't give you more of my time, and believe me I really want to.."
Gray cupped my cheeks in each of their hands, leaning in closer, their forehead now pressing into mine. "You are the only woman for me, and I'd give anything to have you in every way possible. But, we have to be patient. Both of us." I nodded, unable to form words at that moment.
My heart was racing at their words. Then, Gray planted a soft gentle kiss on my lips before pulling away. "Don't cry princess there is no need for tears," They wiped away my ongoing stream of tears with their thumbs as a soft smirk played on their lips. "Now, let us finish our shower so we can talk about today's plans."
*Gray*
After our refreshing shower, we came to the kitchen and had our brunch. We ended up staying in the shower longer than expected because, I couldn't keep my hands to myself after cheering Angel up. Seeing her naked always aroused me so of course I had to tease her a little bit. "So, today's plans? what are they?" Angel looked at me from the other side of the table with an arched brow as she asked her question. "well.." I began, rubbing at my chin as if I were in thought.
"I decided that you should go see your family. I'm sure they are worried about their daughter, especially since she hasn't been in contact with them for a while. I also contacted your friend, he'll be accompanying you. You are going to stay with them for a month, call it a vacation really since I've kind of visited them myself and convinced them to go Sedona. It's a relaxing place to visit and I assumed your family would love a nice relaxing retreat."
Angel stared at me with a blank expression, it was hard to tell if she was pleased with this information or not. "So...you are suddenly sending me away for a month and thought you should tell me this now? how long have you been planning this?" Angel began talking with her hands, moving them in circular motions. Her eyes were even squinting when she said certain words.
It was obvious my princess was not really pleased even though her tone of voice was calm and collected. "A month, I had been planning this. I would have told you sooner, but I thought it might have stressed you out knowing I went to go see your family without your consent." I stiffened in my seat just slightly, attempting to prepare myself for an angry reaction from her. "Gray, my parents both disapprove of gang or mafia-affiliated men and women, how did you even manage to get close to them?" I licked my lips, feeling them going a little dry. Her words caught me a little of guard because when I met her parent's they didn't at all seem hostile to me.
Especially when I told them about what I did for a living. When I told them of it, they didn't seem to disapprove or approve honestly.
