165, Better then well
165, Better then well

Our reveal went better than I could have hoped. No one seemed scared or hesitant around the magical members. In fact, there seemed to be a lot of curiosity.
“This has to be a sign we are doing the right thing,” I said to Nash. He was looking through bike catalogues online, and I was sketching.
“Hm?” he asked. We had been sitting in silence for over half an hour, so I understood his confusion.
“About the pack. The fact everyone has been taking it so well must be a sign we are doing the right thing,” I elaborated. He looked over at me with a smile. He was sitting at the desk, and I was sitting on the bed.
“I agree,” he told me. He got up and walked over to me. “You look happy,” he said, bending down and giving me a kiss.
“I am,” I agreed when the kiss ended. “I have a good mate, the best if you ask me. We are about to start our own pack, and let’s face it, it will be an awesome pack. My relationship with my dad is the best it has been since I was a child, and my brother has a mate and is finally Alpha over his pack. I can’t see why I wouldn’t be happy,” I listed.
“It does sound like an amazing life,” he agreed. “How is your father doing?”
“Good, as good as a werewolf who cut ties with his mate can do. He is taking it well, but even if their bond was weak, it is still a wound to the soul,” I told him.
“Will he be okay to travel for the pack creation?” Nash asked. He sat down on the bed, took my art supplies from me, and promptly lay down with his head in my lap. I smiled and started to comb my fingers through his hair.
“I think so. If he isn’t, that’s okay. Alice has already told me she and Sam are coming, and Luna Bella and Alpha Graham will be here as well. Luna Rayvin called and told me they would have loved to come, but it looks like our ceremony will be right around their due date,” I answered.
“We will have to find someplace for everyone to stay,” Nash said. “I’m guessing the Alpha pairs won’t come alone.” I smiled.
“No, they will bring warriors with them,” I agreed. “How’s the hunt for a new bike going?” I asked. Nash grunted.
“I can’t seem to find one I like,” he complained.
“Chopper or cruiser?” I asked.
“Cruiser,” he said without hesitation. I nodded, it was what I had chosen for him as well.
“Indian, Harley, maybe Ducati?” I wanted to know.
“Hm, I haven’t looked into Ducati. They might have something I like. Thanks, kitten,” he said. He reached out and pulled my head down as he lifted his head off my lap so we could kiss.
“Happy to help. I think you will be happier once you have your own bike again,” I told him.
“Yeah. Maybe I should buy two?”
“Two?”
“Yeah, one new, or at least newer, that I can ride, and a fixer-upper. I remember how much fun that was when Bones gave me my former bike,” he suggested.
“That sounds like a good idea. You need to have a way to de-stress if you are to run a pack,” I agreed. He chuckled.
“I have much better ways of de-stressing,” he told me as he hooked a finger in the neckline of my tank top and pulled it down. I laughed and batted his hand away.
“Pervert!” I accused him.
“Guilty as charged,” he confessed, and took a grip around my waist, and before I knew what happened, I was on my back with him hovering above me. I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him down.
Later that evening, we had another club meeting. They had become a regular occurrence, and the members looked like they would take to this one with ease.
“Tite and Nash will have the floor,” Bones simply said and sat down at a table with Hilda, Doc, Esme, Ink, and Maya.
“Thank you,” I said. “I wanted to talk about the mother chapter and why you all have felt it’s different from this club.” I continued to talk about what a pack was and how it differs from a club. It took a while to explain everything. “Questions?” I asked when I was done.
“That sounds pretty nice,” Ruby said.
“So everyone in this pack can talk to each other with their minds?” Rash asked.
“Yes, as long as you are blooded into the pack, you can mindlink,” I confirmed.
“That would come in handy when you are on a ride,” Inc said. Several members agreed. I had to smile at their priorities.
“Is there a way we can join one? To get the perks, I mean,” Mira wanted to know. I looked at Nash and smiled.
“Great minds think alike,” Nash told her. “We wanted to suggest that we turn the club into a pack.”
“We can do that?” Rash wanted to know.
“We can, and if we decide it’s what we want, our neighbours, the coven, want to merge with us,” I answered. The members started to talk to each other. They seemed excited about the idea. “We also want to create a community, a village with both businesses and homes. It will serve both as a source of income and as a way to provide for our community,” I added.
“Would this mean we can open up our own businesses?” someone called out.
“It does. I know Beridan is looking to open up a secondary location for his coffee shop, aren’t you?” I asked him.
“I am, it will mean I need to hire people to work in it, as I can’t be in both places at once,” he agreed.
“And we could apply to work there?” Ruby asked, she sounded excited by the idea.
“Absolutely,” Beridan answered.
“We will give you three days to talk about it. We will answer any questions you have, and you can talk to any of the magical creatures in the club or in the coven about it. In three days, we will gather again and have a vote,” Nash said. It was again an evening and night full of discussions. Nash and I were sitting at a table with the future Beta and Gamma couples.
“If nothing else, these weeks have made everyone get to know each other better,” Shadow pointed out.
“That is true,” Nash agreed. “I don’t think I have seen them talk this much to each other.”
“That is something,” I said. “It’s starting to feel like a pack.”
“I agree. Since I first came here, I have enjoyed spending time in the club, but now it truly feels like a pack,” Bo told us.
“I think it’s awesome the way the coven seems to meld into the club so seamlessly,” Beridan said as he watched a group of club and coven members sit around a table, talking and joking.
“I think with the year we had, everyone is looking for stability, and they feel this will give them that,” Nash told us.
“It’s been longer than a year, my friend. Even if it wasn’t as obvious as the mess later, there has been an underlying tension for years with the way Chief ran things,” Shadow said. Nash nodded.
“I think we all would like a nice, stable pack and common goals to strive for,” I agreed.
“Have you been up and looked at the new apartments?” Lizzy asked.
“I haven’t had the time yet,” I said.
“Bo and I had a look earlier today at our new place. It looks amazing! I can’t believe how much they have done already. I can’t wait to move into the place,” she told me.
“I think we need to go and have a look at our new place tomorrow,” I said to Nash, and I felt excited about it. He smiled and kissed me.
“Sure,” he agreed.
“Oh, we need to have a look at our place as well,” Beridan demanded of Shadow.
“I won’t say no, but I don’t look forward to moving you out of that house of yours. Have you seen how many things you own?” Shadow whined. We all laughed. Beridan was the only one of us around the table that had put down roots. I had a way, but my things were already packed and ready to go.
“We will all help out,” I told Shadow and patted her shoulder.
“We will?” Nash asked, sounding less than happy. I smiled and nodded.
“I knew you were my best friend for a reason,” Shadow said.
