162, Leave the patch on the bar
Nash
The bar was packed, with all members present, including most of the old ladies and sweet butts. Everyone wanted to know why a general meeting had been called.
“Okay, everyone, get your shit together and calm down!” Bones called out. The room quieted down as everyone's attention turned to him. “We’ve had a tough year behind us. Things have calmed down, and we’ve weeded out the traitors who sold us out. We’ve shown the other clubs that we are not to be fucked with,” Bones began, eliciting agreeing shouts. I looked at some of the brothers I knew would have a fit in a moment. At least they looked happy for now.
“We’ve been at the mother chapter, and I’ve talked with Prez Jacob and Prez Ulf. There are many things we’ve forgotten over the year with a traitor leading us. It’s time to get back on track, and the mother chapter stands behind us in that. First, starting on Monday, all old ladies, children, and sweet butts will be full members just like their men,” Bones announced. The sound level nearly blew out the windows, with some happy cheering and some outraged cursing as well.
“What the fuck is all this about?” Sharp shouted, his face bright red and anger clear in his eyes.
“It’s in the statute. We’ve just not enforced it,” Bones replied calmly.
“What the fuck do I care? The skirts and children don’t contribute to the club. They shouldn’t get membership just because they exist,” Sharp shouted, receiving several agreeing shouts, though many angry looks were directed his way.
“Do you clean your own toilet? Do you clean the bar? Do you serve beer? I think we all enjoy our toilets and bar being clean, and I know most of you fuckers appreciate the sweet butt serving your beer. Don’t think I haven’t noticed how willingly you’ve stuffed your faces these past months when the women have been cooking breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Now tell me how the women don’t contribute,” Bones challenged everyone.
“If it weren’t for Essme, I wouldn’t have been able to do half of what I do for the club,” Doc said.
“A club that protects my family is a club I will give my loyalty to,” Inc declared.
“Fucking wimps, all of you!” Sharp exclaimed.
“Calm the fuck down! I’m not done yet,” Bones told him. Sharp glared but fell silent. I scanned the room, noting the warriors we had stationed around the bar. If the hot-headed members chose to explode, we would have the situation under control within minutes. “I’m getting too old for shit like this! Sometimes it feels like I’m herding cats trying to get this club into shape. I’m tired of it. I want to relax and enjoy life. I’ve found a fucking hot woman, and I intend to spend my time getting her into bed as often as I can,” Bones said. I had to chuckle at the look on Hilda’s face. “In a couple of weeks, I will go back home with Hilda. I will leave the leadership of the club to Wolf. I will still have my membership, and I will check in on you from time to time, but it’s time for a generational shift,” Bones said.
“You’re just picking the new prez? Shouldn’t there be a vote?” Sharp asked, still looking angry.
“No. Have you forgotten that we aren’t a democracy? The prez title is inherited. The only reason we voted after Ram passed was that he didn’t have an heir. Neither did Chief. I do. It’s Wolf,” Bones stated. I squared my shoulders and stared back at Sharp.
“I demand a vote!” Sharp insisted, looking at me.
“Tough fucking luck. There will be no vote. We voted for Chief, and that fucking car crash took us years to sort out. Wolf will be your prez,” Bones declared.
“Look, I get that this is making you feel things, and I don’t fucking care if you don’t like me. My feelings won’t get hurt or bruised. What I do demand is that you respect me and my old lady. Tite’s word will be as good as mine,” I said.
“What? We need to not only accept you but her as well?” Piston asked.
“Fucking right you do,” I told him. “Tite knows what she’s doing, probably more so than I do.”
“Fucking hell no!” Sharp shouted.
“I understand that some of you don’t like this. You’d like to stay and pretend we’re still back in the good old days. If you know you won’t be able to live by these new rules, we have an offer. As the Prez said, the new rules will take effect on Monday. That gives us two days. If you don’t want to stay in the club, you have until midnight Sunday to leave your patch on the bar and walk out. If you do, we’ll let you go. We won’t brand you a traitor, we won’t come after you, or blacklist your name. You can take your things, get your last paycheck, and leave in peace,” I told everyone. I saw some members looking at each other, others staring at the bar, but most were shaking their heads as if this were an unthinkable thing to do.
“Fuck this! I’m not going to bow down to no fucking skirt,” Sharp declared. He took off his patch and tossed it onto the bar. “I’m out. I’ll find a club with real men. No faggots or cowards.” He stormed out, leaving the room quiet for a moment.
“Good riddance,” Bones said.
“If anyone has questions, we’ll be in the bar all night or just come and find us whenever,” Tite told everyone. There was a murmur, and I noticed the looks some members exchanged. I guessed there would be a lot of talking in the coming days. I got beers for Tite and me, and we sat down at a table with Bones, Hilda, Shadow, and Beridan.
“What if he goes and finds another club and gets them to attack us?” Shadow asked after we had been drinking in silence.
“Then we show them what a pack like this can do,” Tite replied calmly. I smiled and kissed her temple. I fucking loved her big balls.
“I like that plan,” I told them and relaxed back in my chair. The meeting had gone better than expected. No one had drawn a gun, and no one had exploded to the point of going berserk. Some tempers had flared, but that was just to be expected. Judging from the groups of members that had formed in various parts of the bar, talking to each other and eyeing other groups, it seemed the members we wanted to leave would be gone by Monday.
