Chapter 155

Chapter 155
Jett

Town is always a good place to be. Not that I am taking my time. I want to be back up the mountain in the cabin with my face buried right between her legs. I know my woman is going stir crazy and it’s only been a couple of weeks. The physical therapist and the doc both align that Kitty will make a full recovery and her leg will heal and she should be able to walk again without any assistance, if she puts in the hard work, within a few months. I bet she cannot wait.

I stand in-line in the grocery store resting my forearms on the trolley as I wait to be up next. A young assistant comes round and asks me if I need some help putting stuff on the belt. I give her a nod and quickly fire off a message to Kitty to make sure she is resting and not trying to be a hero like last time.

She assures me she is being a good girl because apparently, she cannot wait for me to make her feel good. Okay, so standing in line with my cock wanting to spring into action is not ideal but hey, I have no control over him down south. Since Kitty has flown under my radar, nothing has been the same. The mere scent of her can make me hard, looking into her eyes or watching her curled up smiling at parts in her romance books gets me hard too. I am telling you all, that woman has me smitten and under some spell.

I also know she is itching to get down to see her mother. I have organized for my father to bring my step mom up to visit when she finishes the next round of chemo. It’s taking it out of her and at the moment she isn’t up to doing anything. Damn this cursed illness. They say she has a fighting chance but man, it’s a long road for her and she will take months to recover after all the treatment. It’s aggressive, the cancer and the treatment but at least we all have that glimmer of hope.

As for her father, we haven’t heard from him. Thank God, because nobody needs him distracting Kitty right now. She told me she will make arrangements to see him at some point but she isn’t comfortable right now. I suggested she could speak with a therapist who would help her to digest and make sense of everything. Stubborn woman of mine is refusing point blank. Says she wants to deal with it all herself. Only, you know I am not sure that even a strong woman like Kitty can deal with everything her father put her through, then Wolfgang on top and well you know the story. It’s not been easy for Kitty. At least for now she can breathe. I am doing my best to ensure that nothing touches her now.

“You’re ready, Sir,” the young female assistant says blushing.

“Great, thanks. Here,” I say as I slip a twenty dollar bill out of my pocket and hand it to her.

“That’s too much,” she stutters.

“Rubbish, take it. You deserve it. Put it towards your college fund or whatever, a car or something.”

She smiles like I have given her the moon. I know it’s hard for the folk who live up in the town, there isn’t much hope for them but they are all good stock and this community is strong and loyal. I know that I have made the right decision for Kitty and I to make our lives here. Naturally, I have kept my other place and the guys do rotations to check in on the place. Eventually, I will rent it out. Not at the moment though, I don’t want the headache of tenants just yet.

My groceries are rung through; I pay and grab the life bags that the young lad at the end has packed for me. I hand him a twenty-dollar bill too. He smiles and says thank you. Nice kids around here. You wouldn’t get that in the city. No chance. They expect things like this.

Outside the sun is fierce, I love it. Never could understand why people want to live in cold parts of the world or this country. There is nothing better than being able to raise your face skywards and feel all that heat shining down on you. Life feels good right now and I want to make sure that it stays that way.

As soon as I am belted in the truck, I turn the engine over. My mobile rings. I press the phone icon on the head unit and can see that Ethan is calling. “Hey, Man. What’s up?” I ask as I swing an arm around the passenger seat, glance over my shoulder and place the truck into reverse.

“Ah, nothing much. Thought I would check in with you old man, see how things are with you and that good woman of yours.”

“Are you eating?” I ask him knowing he fucking is talking with a mouthful of something. Man, I hate that.

“An apple.”

“Could you finish eating before you speak, fuck you sound like some hobo, Dude.”

“Fuck you, asshat. Tell me, how are things up there? Lonely for your bros yet?”

I chuckle. “Hell no. Kitty and I are having a blast. She is still smarting with pain and won’t take anything stronger than she needs to. Her P.T. is going well. They are happy with the progress. And no, we are not lonely. We are enjoying some space.”

“Man, are you saying you don’t miss us all?” At least it sounds like he has finished eating. I glance left and right as I hit the T-junction then put the indicator on and head right towards the road out of town.

A few cars pass by, a truck and nothing much else. “I heard they are pressing charges against the driver that hit, Kitty.” Ethan says.

“Yeah, good job too. Motherfucker. He is lucky he hasn’t come across me in a dark alley. The shit I’d like to do to fuck him up for hurting my woman.”

“Yeah, bad shit. Karma, Jett. Karma, it will get him.”

I hope Ethan is right. I can’t get involved, I promised my folks and Kitty that I would steer well clear and let the cops handle everything. The rest is out of my hands now. Starting a new life with Kitty is the most Important thing on my agenda now and making sure we are there for my stepmom.

“The guys and I thought we could drive up and come visit you and Kitty at the weekend. What do you reckon? Are we welcome?”

Fuck, he is such a good guy, I love my bros and yeah, a part of me does actually miss them. I know how hard they are working right now speaking to my accountant and the lawyers to have things reorganized and some of the businesses sold off. We all stand to be wealthy in the long-run but you know this shit takes time.

“Absolutely, you know you don’t need to ask, right? Our house is always open to you guys. I’ll put on a barbeque, start the fire pit up, sink some beers with you assholes. Kitty will like seeing you all up at the cabin. My woman is going loco being isolated and not able to do anything. Come up on Saturday around four. Save me going back down to the town, you guys could bring the meat for the Q, and I already have plenty of cod ones stocked in the beer fridge. Whiskey is always up in the cabin. If you all want to stay that is fine too, although guessing Jackson may need to go back for Cecille.”

“You got it, Jett. We can’t wait to catch up with you.”

We hang up just as I get to the fork in the road. I take the left-hand side to start going up the mountain road. I should stop in on old man Howard on the way up but my dick is begging me not to. Fuck it, I need to. I’m a good person and he might need something. I ought to have checked in on him on the way down.

Fifteen minutes later, I pull up outside of his place and see him sitting on his rocking chair on the porch, his face tilted up absorbing the rays. “Figured you would drop in and see me sometime, Boy,” he says in a raspy voice.

“You alright, Howard?” I ask him as I take his porch steps two at a time.

“Sure am. Ain’t nothin’ better in life than just being. You catch my drift?”

“I do, Sir. I certainly do.”

“Heard you and your lady friend have moved into the cabin permanent like.”

I rest my foot on the top step and lean forward and rest my forearms on it. “We have, yeah. You know a different pace of life. She had an accident and needs to recuperate.”

He nods his head. “Heard about that. Word gets around fast here, Son. You can’t hide anything from nobody in the town.” Of that he is right, not that I am complaining. I kind of like the idea of a small, trustworthy community who has everyone’s back.

“Alright then, do you need anything?” I ask him.

“No thanks, Son. Got everything I need in and the sun on my face, the birds are chirping and my fat, lazy cat is sunning herself.” I glance down at his feet and notice his black cat sprawled out. I grin. This old man has got the right idea about life. Peace, quiet, relaxation and just letting everything stop around you for a while.

“I’ll be off then. You have my number if you do need anything. When Kitty feels more up to it, I’ll be sure to come on down with her and check in on you.”

He nods again as he rocks slowly in his chair. “You do that, Son. Be good to see that fine woman of hers and that blazing smile she sports.” Another grin breaks out all over my face. Damn, I kind of love this old man.

I hop back in my truck and reverse away from the rocking man. My heart feels full as I take a last glance at him. It’s going to be a sad day when we lose Howard but today is not that day, thank God.

And I ain’t gonna lie. My mind is on Kitty and her sweet as peaches pussy. That woman is going to be screaming out my name so loud, even Howard is going to hear her further down the mountain.
