Chapter 150

Chapter 150
Jett

Leroy gives me a look with a raised eyebrow. The one that says, what is Kitty doing here? He has a point but wild horses were not going to be able to drag my woman away. I shrug.

Ethan who has no filter says, “dude, are you serious? Kitty is with you. This is not on.” I shoot him a look that says don’t fucking start

Kitty on the other hand goes up to him where he stands against the bar we have installed and grabs him by the balls. “My balls are bigger than yours, anything else you want to say?” He shrieks. We all start laughing. Fuck my life, that woman has some nerve. Seeing her put him in his place is definitely something else. He stands easily a foot taller than her, muscular arms and tatts everywhere, a mean looking fucker, yet she has him right in the palm of her hand.

“Okay you two. Knock it off. Kitty is only staying a while, aren’t you?” I say. She turns to look at me, releasing Ethan’s balls. Yeah, that is going to sting.

“I don’t know, am I? Actually, I thought I was here for the meeting.”

“Fuck me,” Jackson mutters. I glare at him too.

“Alright enough. Kitty, you can stay for thirty minutes. You have something else to be doing,” I remind her my voice sharp. She glares at me. Fire that woman, pure fire.

“Everyone get your asses parked and seated. Leroy, you go first. What have you got on the assholes who burnt our place down? Ethan, what is the insurance looking like and Jackson, what has Matt got to say?”

I take a seat in one of the leather easy chairs and put an ankle on my other knee. Leroy takes a seat opposite, Jackson next to him and Ethan sits down on the sofa with Kitty next to him. They bump fists like she didn’t just have his balls in her hand. How I feel about her handling another man’s tackle is another thing. One the one hand I love how cool and fierce she can be, on the other hand touching someone else between the legs. Hell, I need to let that one fly.

“Right, first we think it was just some teenagers. From the camera feeds and Matt’s deduction, they look to be around seventeen or eighteen. We don’t think it an attack from another gang and definitely not anything to do with Vikram,” Leroy explains as he rests forward with his elbows on his knees.

I nod my head. “And how do we know for certain Vikram had nothing to do with this? Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think he would go back on his word but you never know. We are still rivals after all.”

Ethan speaks. “We already checked out his movements and his gang were at some away ride for the last week. They are still in the neighboring state. Plus, he doesn’t have any young guys in his M.C. These definitely look like a couple of punks who decided to burn something down for shits and giggles. It’s not like anyone would have known what was in the building, Jett. The storage unit was bricked up and nobody could see in. It had a run-down look to it.”

This is true, and for a reason. Because the hardware inside was worth a couple of million. “Okay, what about the insurance. How far are we with that?” I ask this of Ethan who runs a hand through his hair.

“It’s going to take a few months. The fire assessment team still need to put in a full report. We also have to prove the purchases of all the vehicles.” Fuck, I knew he was going to say that. “Which as you know,” he continues as he crosses one leg over the other. “Is not going to be easy since some were traded for services rendered for protection and the such like.”

Okay, okay so some of our business is a bit on the shady side. “That could be a lot of money we will never see again,” I say and blow out a breath. This is the shits and then some. We had some pretty pricey vehicles in there and some collectibles that will never see the light of day now. Charred and burnt beyond all measure of refurb.

Kitty glances at me. She knows this is bad. “Can the two guys be picked up? Do you have enough to be able to do some kind of facial recognition?” she asks in a tight voice.

Jackson shakes his head. “No, we only have side profiles. Unless Matt has some pretty shit hot tech, it’s going to prove impossible.”

Kitty rolls her thumbs over each other. I want to place a hand on her hands to put them to rest. “I know someone who could help if Matt’s team can’t put this together. I mean these guys can’t get away with it. It’s arson at the end of the day.”

Leaning forward I reach for the jug of water on the low table and pour some water into my glass and take a drink from it. Really what I want to be drinking is a nice Macallan and forgetting about more shit that we have to deal with.

“Who?” I ask her.

“Alanka knows people.”

“We don’t want to get more people involved than necessary,” Ethan butts in before I can utter a word.

If I had my way I would get them recognized and punch the living shit out of them, however, they are too young to take my fists too no matter what they have done. “Let’s forget that avenue. We will let Matt liaise with the police on this. I’m sure whoever did it has a sheet as long as my arm. It won’t take long for them to be picked up. They will target other buildings. Assholes like that can never duck and dive for too long.”

“Are you sure?” Kitty asks raising her eyebrows.

I nod. The guys nod in agreement with me. “Yeah, let it slide, Kitty. We don’t want more involved than necessary. The fire investigator’s report will come through, the insurance will pay out for what we can prove we purchased and hopefully our losses will be minimal. Let’s focus on other business.”

“We need to discuss the club out in Freson,” Leroy says as I furrow my brow. I take another sip of water and lean back, resting one hand on my ankle.

“Why? What’s up with Fresno club?” Fuck what the hell now?

“There was a chunk of dough missing,” he informs me. I glance over at Kitty and give her a nod to indicate she should leave now.

“Huh? Why do I have to leave now?”

“Because, Kitty you have a sick mother to go and visit. We have a club business meeting to continue with.”

“I am part of the club,” she says insistently. Fuck, what can I say to that.

A couple of the other guys shift in their seats. I can get where they are coming from. Ordinarily it just us men folk but you know, I’m a modern guy, at least I like to think so. Perhaps it is time to let the women in. God help us though with any ideas they might come up with.

“Okay, let’s take a vote on Kitty staying or going?” She narrows her eyes at me. “What? We are an M.C., Kitty. I have to open it up to the floor.” Kitty crosses her inked arms in front of her chest and glowers at me like her eyes are on fire. She sure is a wild one. And I’m not just talking now; she is a wild cat in the bedroom too.

More arms stay down than go up. Thought so. She moves her head to see who has put their hands up. “You’re such jackasses you know that? Fine, I’ll go but we want a revote, the women and I.”

Leroy almost chokes on his water and Ethan looks like he is going to have a heart attack. I grin from ear to ear. Trust my Kitty to take on the role of female empowerment.

“I don’t think the other women are interested in s say in our M.C., Kitty,” Jackson tells her. She gives him a sweet grin.

“That is where you are wrong, Jacko-boy. I happen to know from my girlie chats with them recently, that they want more say in what goes on. They’re sick of being on the sidelines and you know what, frankly so am I. We’re not just a bunch of pussies you can stick your dicks in to get wet when you feel like it. We want more say; we want to feel part of the M.C. not trinkets to adorn the back of your bikes.”

Fuck me she makes my dick go hard with her smart-ass talk. “Fine,” he replies holding his hands up. “Bring them in then. No skin off my nose. We have nothing to lose.”

“Kitty, sweetheart. We will chat about this later. Head over to your mother’s and I’ll meet you at home later. I’ll bring food,” I tell her hoping she will leave. There are some things I need to tie up with my gang.

“Fine, I’ll go. But trust me, the next big meeting you boys have, us ladies will be present.”

No fucking doubt. I watch as she gets up and brushes past me. She trails her fingers over my shoulder. I grab her hand and give it a squeeze.

“Tell the ladies we will have the next meeting in a week’s time. We expect you all to be there.”

“Thanks, Jett.” She leans down and kisses the top of my head. The guys groan.

“Fuck man, save your domestic bliss for inside your own home. We don’t need to see that kind of shit. I am scarred for life,” Jackson says. I flick him the finger at the same time Kitty does. I chuckle as she leaves us to it.

Once Kitty has left, I turn my attention back to my men. “Find out who lifted the cash and let them have it. Make sure they can still walk afterwards but do what you need to do. Nobody steals from the Devil’s Reign.
