(Three Days Later)

“Mrs Alberto has been responding to treatment which has helped her recover so quickly, she can go home now but we will always come check her at home to complete her dose,” The doctor explained to Adriana.

“Finally, I’m leaving,” Mrs Alberto teased from where she laid. 

“That’s a great news, Can she go home in the afternoon then?” Adriana asked and the doctor nod.

“Yes, Please Excuse me,” The doctor left.

“I should start packing up, We are finally leaving,” Adriana said going to the shelf, she started packing her own clothes into a bag.

“Will you be moving into the house as from today with my grandkids? I’d be happy to have you all at my home,“ Mrs Alberto asked and it took some minutes before Adriana answered.

“Er…I don’t want your husband to feel uncomfortable, you know he lost a daughter and I think he knew that’s because of me, I-“

“Douglas is not someone like that, I know who I married so I’m sure, he will accept you as his daughter but if you don’t want to move in, it’s fine,” Mrs Alberto conceded.

“I, I will move in, I want to live with you mom,” Adriana chipped in breaking the short silence that fell in.

Mrs Alberto’s face brightened up, “Thank you so much Adriana, I’m glad,” She beamed.

A knock came on the door, a young man came in after he had heard “come in” 

“The car is ready ma’am,” The man informed while Adriana nod slowly and handed the bag to him.

“Please take to the car while I help mom change into something comfortable, we will be there in a minute,” She told him and the man left.

“Come on, Julia, I can dress by myself. My hand and legs works perfectly fine, okay?” Mrs Alberto sighed and she started taking off her clothe.

“I just wanted to dress my mom for once, wear this blue dress,” Adriana picked out a blue velvet dress and place it on her body.

Mrs Alberto blushed and took the cloth, she put them on and it fitted her so perfectly, “Wow, it makes me feel like a crowned queen,” She whined.

“Oh please,” Adriana chuckles.

Few minutes later, the car halted at the Alberto’s Villa. Thirteen maids lined up at the front gate dressed in uniform while a woman in her 40s, dressed in a corporate gown stood at the front.

As soon as they all sighted Mrs Alberto coming down from the car, they all bow in respect.

“Welcome home, Mrs Alberto,” They all chorused making Adriana gasped at the building before her.

Gigantic would be an understatement. Mrs Alberto cat-walked into the building while Adriana jaw-dropped no matter how many times she has tried to keep it.

“Let me introduce you all to my first daughter. She’s the heiress to the Alberto’s holdings,” Mrs Alberto announced, the maids gathered.

Adriana blinked, “What…”

“Give her the respect you gave my late daughter, Jessica. She’s now one of the Albertos.” She added then turned to Adriana.

“I await the day you’d come back home so badly  that I was almost fed with lies,” Mrs Alberto muttered then a portfolio was given to her, “This is your inheritance, I made sure I settled it with my lawyer.”

Adriana was dumbfounded as she took the portfolio, she opened it and her eyes went wide and she instantly lost her words.

She closed it back and gave it back to her mom, “I,,I didn’t reconcile with you because of this? This is too much, I can’t take it,”  Adriana responded.

Mrs Alberto smiled and place the portfolio back into her hand, “I gave Jessica hers too, it’s fair and square if you take yours too,” She implored then leave her standing before Adriana would say another word.

\[FEW MONTHS LATER- JAV holdings\]

“I heard our boss is getting married,” A lady whispered to the other lady beside her and she gasped.

“Don’t tell me it’s Miguel? Oh my! She’s so lucky,” The other lady exclaimed.

“Tsk, it’s a contract marriage, Miguel doesn’t love her,” 

“Well, he does. He loves me and I find peace with him but what baffles me now is how you heard about a wedding happening? I haven’t heard anything from my side,” Then another voice joined them.

“Who are…” The two ladies froze when they saw Adriana behind them, with a scowl on her face.

“We,,are sorry ma’am,” They apologized but Adriana scoffed.

“You can keep gossiping but at least get your facts right, don’t just conclude on what you thought or heard,” Adriana replied and was about leaving when she halt and turned back to them.

“Humph, you almost made me forget what I came here for. Anita? Get back to the construction company so they can fix the workers lounge as soon as possible,” With that she walked back into her office.

“I can’t believe them! Tsk, A wedding?” She muttered to herself then she suddenly looked at her hand.

She sighed “A ring will fit in perfectly-“ She shook her head and slapped her cheek. “I should be working,”

“What’s my sweetheart muttering to herself?” She suddenly heard Miguel’s voice behind her, she turned.

She ran into his arms, “You didn’t tell me you will be back home today?” She asked while Miguel responded with a kiss her lips.

“I missed my sweetheart so I finished off the business deal at France and took the quickest flight here,” Miguel muttered.

“You miss me that much?” Adriana teased while Miguel nod instantly.

“So tell me, why were you muttering before I walked in?” 

Adriana rested her butt on the desk with her arms around Miguel’s shoulders, “Could you believe my staffs are spreading rumors about you getting married to me? That’s crazy,” Adriana told him.

“Then let make them believe it, I want them to believe it’s true as of now,” Miguel suddenly said making Adriana blinked her eyes.

“And what are you talking-“ Before she could end her words, Miguel’s left knee was already on the floor.

“Adriana, every moment with you has been special. I messed up, acted up, grown up and did all things to you but that didn’t stop you from loving me. I love you so much Adriana,” He muttered.

Adriana was beating fast and it seemed like she lost her tongue.

Miguel brought out a box and when he opened it, a sparkling diamond ring appeared, “I want to keep loving you, I want to grow our love with you,” Miguel smiled.

“Miguel—“ 

“Adriana Julia, Will you take this helpless guy as your husband? Please marry me my love,” Miguel finally pop the question.

“Yes mummy, say yes to daddy!” Even before Adriana could say a word, her kids came out of no where and interrupted.

Adriana giggles, “Oh my,,”

“We are waiting, let’s have a wedding mummy,” 

“Yes, I will marry you, Miguel. I love you,” She finally replied and Miguel fixed the ring on her index finger.

“Yayy!” 

When Miguel wrapped his arms around Adriana to kiss her, “No, no, no, there’s no way we would watch you kiss our mommy in our presence, Do that later because we have a wedding to plan!” Scott mumbled.

“And another baby sister to have,” Scarlett added while Adriana and Miguel gasped.

“What baby sister?” 

“You both are suppose to have another baby except us after the wedding, right? I want a little baby sister,” Scarlett whined while Skyler scoffed.

“It’s going to be a baby brother,” Skyler argued.

“A sister!”

“Brother!”

“Oh please, you have Scott while I have no one so want a baby sister!”

“Who cares? We want a brother!” Scott added

Miguel and Adriana watched them argue cutely, the both of them giggles with delightful hearts.“Let’s look forward to happiness, together and forever,” Miguel whispered kissing Adriana lips when the kids were not watching.

“I love you,”

“I love you more, Julia.”
