(Gilbert’s New House)

“Mummy? What are we having for dinner?” Scarlett asked with a puppy face as she sat on the chair in the kitchen watching Adriana cook.

Adriana smiled slicing the vegetables into the pot, “A very very special delicacy, you will love it,” Adriana replied while Scarlett giggles.

“I can’t wait! Mummy? Will Aunt Dora visit us here? It’s been long I saw her,” The little girl added making Adriana shrugs her shoulders.

“I’m sure she will come around, you know how busy she gets with her work right? Don’t you worry,” Adriana answered.

“Scarlett?  Your favorite cartoon is about to begin,” Scott shouted from the living room and Scarlett sprang up on her feet running to the living room.

Adriana dropped the knife and picked her phone, “It’s been two weeks since Dora called, is she mad at me? Humph, whatever. I’m sure she’s okay,” With that she dropped the phone and continue cooking.

Few minutes later, the food was ready and she dished it on a plate. “Kids?” The called on her kids as she placed the food on the dinning table.

“The food is ready, come and eat,” She announced and the three of them left what they were watching as they rushed over to the dinning table.

“Yay! Omelette and pasta? I love it,” Skyler and Scott beamed and they started munching on their food.

“Take it easy boys, the food is not running away right?” Adriana cautioned then she picked up the waste.

“I will be right back kids, I should throw this out,” she informed the kids and walked out.

She got to the big waste bin outside the house and she was about dropping the waste into it when a cat came out of the waste bin, she almost flinched.

“That scared me,” she whispered then took a closer look at the cat, it’s thin and looks so hungry.

The cat made a cute face that Adriana felt sorry for it, she stretched her hand to touch the cat but it got scared and jumped off from the waste-bin making all what’s in the waste-bin pour out.

“Damnit! That cat! Eww, to pick the waste back into the bin is disgusting!” She mumbled  watching the cat run over to a corner.

“Now I will have to go and wear my gloves to pack it back in, humph!” With that being said, she was about to go back in when her eyes quickly glanced at something. A paper

She turned and looked at the paper once again, not minding the dirt that has covered the paper, she picked it up.

“This,.,this is Scott surgery payment receipt. Why does it have that name on it? Why-“ Her eyes widened when she looked at the payer, for a second she had thought she was seeing another thing.

“Wait, Miguel paid?”

“What are you doing there Adriana?” Gilbert’s voice interrupted her thoughts and she quickly turned and went to him.

“What is the meaning of this?” She asked shoving the receipt at his face.

“What is what? I-“ When Gilbert saw the receipt he swallowed nothing and tried to touch Adriana’s hand but she shifted.

“Explain to me why it has Miguel’s name on it! I need a fucking reply right now!” Adriana yelled and Gilbert rubbed his lips anxiously.

“Okay, fine! If that’s what you want! Yes. I found out when I told the nurses I want to pay but Miguel already did, I..I didn’t mean to deceive you Adriana,” Gilbert shutters while Adriana couldn’t believe her ears.

“You think you only deceive me? You used me! You know how much I hated Miguel because I thought he abandoned me that I was even planning to deny his access to his kids? Yet you did what? You lied to me?!” Adriana half-yelled as tears dropped.

“I’m,, I’m sorry Adriana, I love you and I can’t bring myself to let Miguel take you away,” Gilbert muttered while Adriana scoffed.

“Love? No. You don’t love me because if truly you did, you wouldn’t have pinned the marriage on me when you know you did nothing for I and the kids,” Adriana snapped at him angrily then she looked at the ring in her middle finger.

She pulled it out and throw it at his face, “I’m taking my kids back to their rightful owner. The wedding is never going to happen,” She told him and was about going inside when Gilbert grab her wrist.

“Who did you think you’re to make that decision? We planned this together and we are going to see it through together,” He whispered dangerously into her ears, he tightened his grip on her wrist.

“Let go of me! I’m not having any wedding with you! I should have listened to Dora!” Adriana yelled but instead Gilbert pushed her to the wall and held her neck.

“You still don’t get it? The moment you walked into this house with your kids you’ve walked into my trap. You cannot get out. Well, unless you want one of your kids gone?” Gilbert suddenly threatened while fear gripped Adriana.

Gilbert smirked  and lean closer to her ear,  “If you don’t want that, you will marry me at all cost because I love you and you should marry who loves you,”
