Adriana licked her lower lips, “Kids?” She called and they all looked at her.
“Yes mummy?” They answered.

“You called for me sir,” Willow asked
“Look for another secretary ASAP,” Miguel instructed without glancing at Willow
Willow squinted his eyes, “What about Adriana? Er… did she take a leave?” He asked while Miguel rolled his eyes.
“She’s not my secretary anymore, in other words, She’s fired,” Miguel dropped the bombshell on Willow and his eyes almost popped out.
“What? What did she do? Adriana is a good lady, she’s the only one who could endure you-“ He stopped talking when Miguel turned to him with a snarling look.
“Willow?” Miguel suddenly called out
“Yes, yes sir?” Willow quickly responded adjusting his suit.
“Have you found another job? Should I hand you your letter now?” Miguel quipped coldly while Willow shook his head.
“No, no, sir. I’m sorry if I crossed the line,” He shuddered with an apology.
“If you don’t want me to fire you too, Find another secretary!” Miguel snapped and immediately Willow nod.
“Sure, I’m not it already and I will ask any of our staff if they’d be willing to replace her, if you may excuse me, I will be leaving now,” With that Willow walked out while Miguel went back to his glass wall and breathed out.

Adriana was alone in the house, Dora had left for work while the school bus has taken her kids to school. “Damn, we are almost running out of food, I should do grocery shopping today,” She muttered then going into her room to change.
She put in a plain brown trousers and pink top, she wrote down the list and headed out. After some minutes she was already at the mall, picking out the necessary stuffs she needed.
“Oh my, A-Adriana?” She suddenly heard her name from someone who stood opposite her.
Adriana lifted her eyes but only to see her foster mother, “G-Ggina??” She called to confirm if she’s truly seeing her.
. . .
They both sat at the mall restaurant having a glass of orange juice at their front. Gina looked at Adriana with so much guilt on her face.
Adriana noticed and broke the silence instead, “Stop giving me that look, you said you have something to tell me, what’s that?” Adriana chipped.
Gina licked her lips and adjusted herself on the seat, “Your biological mom, She’s Alive,” She dropped the bombshell on her while Adriana expression changed.
Adriana lifted an eyebrow, “You told me she’s dead, isn’t it?” She asked but Gina shook her head.
“No, She’s very much alive. I lied to you so I can use you, I’m sorry,” Gina apologized while Adriana looked at her with so much running through her mind.
Tears escaped her eyes but she quickly rub it off, she sniffed and looked at Gina with so much rage, “Why are you telling me this just now? Why?!” She yelled grabbing the attention of the people at the restaurant.
“I’m sorry, I made a big mistake maltreating you Adriana. My daughter died right after you came into our hand and we thought you were a bad omen, we took it out on you, we are sorry,” Gina apologized and started crying.
“Why? Why are you sorry? It’s never your fault! That woman you called my mother is to be blamed! She left me in the evil hands of yours!” Adriana raised her voice.
“I’m sorry-“
“Enough! I don’t want to hear anything about you or that woman that abandoned me,” She declared cleaning away her tears, she took her back and stand up. “I hope I never see you again,” with that she walked out.
Tears was already flowing when she got out, she hailed for a cab and one came to her front just in time, she got in and she started crying.
“Why does each day gets worse?!”
