Arthur saw all the chaos at the Great Food Company through the system screen. Starting from how Dave got the news about the factory construction project that failed to be implemented, even though a number of funds had been disbursed at the beginning. Until the revelation that Eve had stolen important company data and handed it over to outsiders, which caused the company to shake tremendously.
This time, Dave really became the target of the shareholders. If only Chloe hadn't stepped in, then the story of Dave and Great Food Company would have ended. But if it's that quick, it will be unsatisfying. Arthur wants to see Dave more miserable living with all his ambitions. At least until he had to declare Great Food Company bankruptcy himself. That way, Dave's name would be recorded as the worst leader in the company's history. Which means, Dave is forced to accept the fact that he is not worthy and will never be worthy of being the leader of a company.
It would be truly satisfying if all of that was realized. Just one step away, Arthur will surely witness it too. Sadly, even though he had tried so hard to seize it by cunning, he couldn't enjoy all the assets that were seized from the beginning. Even Dave himself looked tortured as he forced himself to run the company he had always dreamed of.
"In the end, what you want is something you can never grasp, Dave. Your capacity is only the size of a small cup, but you force yourself to hold water the size of a vessel. You'll drown yourself," Arthur said as he continued to watch the footage of what happened to Dave on the system screen.
"The system has synchronized the date when the target lost 10 million dollars of the company's money. Less than a month since the mission was released to users. Congratulations, you completed the mission perfectly." The system voice told Arthur.
Arthur's smile grew. This was what he had been waiting for since the last few days, a confirmation from the system that he had successfully completed the mission.
'CONGRATULATIONS. ALL YOUR POINTS AND THE AMOUNT IN YOUR ACCOUNT HAVE INCREASED ONE HUNDREDFOLD, AS A REWARD FOR YOUR SUCCESS.'
'PLEASE CHOOSE AN ADDITIONAL REWARD. MONEY OR A SURPRISE GIFT.
Arthur wanted to choose the money prize, but he chose the surprise prize instead because his fingers and brain didn't seem to be on the same page at that moment.
"The system is in the process of preparing a surprise gift for you. Please wait a moment." The system's voice was heard giving information.
Shortly after, the system screen turned white for a few moments, before finally displaying a text.
'THE SYSTEM ALLOWS YOU TO USE YOUR ORIGINAL BODY AND IDENTITY FOR FIFTEEN MINUTES.'
'ACTIVATE ORIGINAL BODY MODE.'
'DISABLE.'
"Please choose one of the two options." The system commanded again.
Arthur was stunned for a moment. He had sacrificed money to get that surprise gift. The surprise was unexpectedly beyond his expectations.
"Please select one of the two options." The system reminded him again. Arthur's hand reached out to select the cancel option, but then he remembered something, which could cure his mother's longing.
Arthur immediately selected the option to activate the original body mode and immediately the system screen emitted a bright light that then illuminated his entire body. Without waiting long, Arthur's body immediately changed. His arms looked muscular with a slightly darker skin color. Those were his arms when he was not yet Arthur Wang.
"Please enjoy the surprise gift from the system. You have fifteen minutes, starting from now."
The system screen went out, leaving Arthur still stunned at the sight of the two arms he had missed so much. Arthur got up and looked in the mirror. He was stunned for a moment when he saw his real face that he hadn't seen in a long time.
"Hi, Arthur Greens. Long time no see," Arthur greeted himself. After that, he quickly picked up his cell phone and set it at the right angle. Arthur wanted to make a video recording for Liliana as a birthday present for his mother. It would be Liliana's sixtieth birthday soon and Arthur had not prepared any gift for his mother.
It probably took him over ten minutes before Arthur finished making the video recording. The little time he had left as Arthur Greens was again immortalized by recording a birthday greeting for Liliana.
"Fifteen minutes have passed. Your time is up." The voice from the system came back. At the same time, the white light from the system screen came back out and illuminated Arthur's entire body. Within seconds, he was transformed back into Arthur Wang.
"At least I have prepared a special birthday present for Mom. Hopefully, it will cure Mom's longing for me," Arthur muttered with a faint smile.
Arthur resumed his busy schedule. This time, he checked how Eve was doing after realizing that she was only being used by Arthur.
According to the system footage, the woman was so distraught that she was desperate to end her life by jumping off the bridge. However, her suicide attempt failed because a man suddenly came to her rescue.
"I seem familiar with that man?" Arthur muttered while looking at the picture of the man who saved Eve.
Out of curiosity, Arthur searched the system window for the answer. He scanned the man's face and asked the system for an answer about his identity.
"Nathan White?" Arthur's eyes widened slightly. He instantly remembered the man. Nathan White was a mobster in business camouflage. He was rich and his business was flourishing, but of course the business he was running was an unlicensed, illegal business.
Arthur remembers coming into contact with Nathan White when he was working on a project in collaboration with several other companies. One of Nathan White's subsidiaries was also involved. The company committed fraud by providing goods that were not in accordance with the agreement. Goods that have substandard quality.
Incidentally, the first to discover this fact was Arthur as the head of the Great Food Company. Of course, at that time Arthur immediately protested because the good name of his company was also at stake. As a result, Nathan's company was sanctioned and they were obliged to exchange goods with those of standard quality.
Actually, such friction is a common thing in the business world. If it is a businessman in general, of course what has happened in the past will not be a problem in the future if it later intersects again because everything has been resolved. But since Nathan is a mobster, it's a much different story, isn't it?
Some questions now come to Arthur's mind? Was Nathan's sudden appearance to help Eve purely coincidental or deliberate? Could it be that Nathan knew that Eve was related to him?
"I have to find out more. It would be very dangerous if Eve had the support of a man like Nathan White," Arthur muttered to himself.
Arthur was about to request additional information from the system again, but today he had used the system's features too much, so he would not be able to use it again after a gap of about three days. Quite a long time to wait.
"I think I need Joe's help," Arthur said again.
Arthur remembered that Joe Philips, who was his current ally, had several men who were employed as reliable spies to find information about his rivals. It seemed that this time Arthur should try how good Joe's spies were.
Arthur grabbed his cell phone and dialed Joe's contact number. It didn't take long for Joe to receive the call.
"What's up, Mr. Wang?" Joe asked without preamble. Their communication was always to the point like this.
"I need your help immediately," Arthur said.
"What help can I give you? Don't you usually do everything perfectly?" Joe replied with a hint of humor.
"Please lend me your spy, Mr. Wang," Arthur pleaded.
"Hey, I'm a food product entrepreneur, not a spy agency," Joe replied still not too serious.
"I need information about Eve Blooming who is currently being rescued by Nathan White. Accurate information," Arthur said.
This time Joe was silent for a moment. It seemed like he just realized that Arthur was currently very serious.
"Let's talk about it in person. If it's over the phone, I'm afraid there are other people listening," Joe said.
Arthur agreed and they promised to meet as soon as possible.
