Chapter 65 Must Drag Her Down

I looked at his departing figure in confusion and asked Grace, "Is he really David's cousin?"

"Yes!" Grace nodded affirmatively.

I shook my head and sighed, "He seems a bit odd, really different from his brother."

"You mean David isn't quirky?" Grace hinted, "Don't underestimate him. He's very reliable. Plus, he's quite respected in the industry. He doesn't just take any job. Most people can't even get him to work for them!"

I asked in disbelief, "Really?"

"Really!" Grace said seriously, "His skills are well-known, and he has a large team. There's almost no clue he can't uncover. Everyone wants to hire him."

Hearing this from Grace, I was shocked and thought to myself, 'How am I going to pay him in the future? I might end up successfully divorced but completely broke.'

Grace seemed to read my mind and chuckled, "Don't worry, for you, it's a friendly favor."

"Are you sure?" I looked at Grace and teased, "Otherwise, from what you're saying, I might go bankrupt!"

Grace burst into laughter and then teased me, "And there's David, what are you afraid of?"

"You better not mention him; I'm not confident!" I quickly changed the topic to, "I have a task for you."

She said passionately, "Go ahead! I'm at your service."

I said, "Arrange a gathering, I want to meet Sophie!"

Grace was a bit surprised and looked at me seriously, asking, "Really, what do you want to see her for?"

"I want to get in touch with her. After all, she used to work for me!" I said with a hidden agenda, "Don't worry, I'll meet her in a friendly manner!"

Grace asked, "You're going to pretend you don't know anything, right?" She immediately understood my intention.

I looked at the photo of Sophie, her child, and John in my hand and smiled, "You know me best! I need to drag her into this! Test how strong their relationship really is!"

"Alright! Just wait for it!" Grace responded and then patted my shoulder.

I looked through the information Steve brought again, then put it back and handed it to Grace, suggesting, "Keep these with you! It's not safe with me." Grace nodded and put the items into her bag.

We grabbed a bite, had a chat, then sneaked out the back door together. I had to beat Jane home.

When I got home, sure enough, Jane hadn't returned yet. I lay on the couch, my mind filled with the photo of Sophie, her child, and John. Thinking about my three kids, I felt a bit lost.

A surge of hatred filled my chest.

But reason told me I had to take back everything that was mine, ruin John completely, and make sure Sophie never recovered, leaving her with nothing.

Jane, a mere puppet, was John's tool left at home to spy on me. She overestimated her role.

As I was deep in thought, Jane came back with a big bag of groceries, looking much more relaxed than when she left.

It seemed she had a good sexual experience this afternoon.

"Mrs. Hall, didn't you go out for a walk?" Jane asked when she saw me lying on the couch, half-asleep.

"No, I was too lazy to move!" I responded listlessly.

After putting away the groceries, Jane came out and asked, "Mrs. Hall, what do you want for dinner?"

I thought for a moment and sat up, replying, "Anything! I'm going out for a bit."

"Where are you going?" she asked.

I glanced at her, and she immediately realized she had overstepped, giving an awkward smile.

I went upstairs to change clothes, grabbed my car keys, and as I was leaving, I told Jane, "I'm going to see Bobby! I won't be back for dinner!"
