Sophia’s POV
I looked at the prostitute in front of me with some surprise.
Her hand was still on the dress I had been looking at. It really was a very beautiful design.
"Oh, Sophia. I didn't expect to run into you here." Lila said in a soft whisper, still playing the role of a victim and looking like a slut.
"You could at least pretend to respect me." I said, clamping my hand shut on the dress and glancing up at her icily.
Lila was momentarily taken aback, her large doe eyes filling with tears as she
seemed as though she were about to burst into tears at any moment.
“ Enough Sophia, you're no longer Luna! Stop humiliating her!" Marcus's voice was heard as he approached to help Lila up from her curtsey and then looked at me angrily.
I was going to answer, when from behind came the bored and slightly annoyed voice of Ethan.
“Why have these losers been allowed in?”
The clerk stepped to one side, shaking as the tension between us cocked so high it was almost tangible. "I'm sorry Alpha Ethan, that's because Alpha Marcus also belongs to this store…"
Marcus was really a part of this store? He never once brought me a dress from this store in the three years we’d been married!
At the same time Lila’s eyes were turned to Ethan’s, Marcus’s eyes also shifted to Ethan’s and they bowed in respect.
Ethan still didn’t look at them, he just came over and took my hand instead, indicating to the blue dress I’d been coveting. P
“Did you want this one?”
I shook my head, the joy of my discovery dampened by Lila’s presence, “No, not now at least. That slut’s been up on it so it’s been dirtied.”
“Sophia Evergreen!” Marcus shouted angrily as Lila wept quietly at his side.
Ethan led me to sit beside him on the couch, and with one hand, he retrieved the champagne flute, passed me one.
He leveled the clerk with a frosty glare as he spoke.
“Take that one down and give it to that young lady. The rest I want to be sent to my pack.”
“Everything Alpha Ethan?”
The clerk was more than a little incredulous, and so was I.
Kira bounced happily in my head as she cheered excitedly and her joy was contagious.
Turning to Ethan, I smiled broadly and as his handsome face lifted to me with a radiant smile and our eyes locked when suddenly I felt as though my heart was going to jump right out of my chest.
Ethan nodded and the clerk rushed over with the blue dress in Lila’s hand.
Marcus’s expression was one of pure fury and he pressed his lips firmly together without uttering a word.
Lila was hysterical laughing – holding the dress.
She turned to Marcus, and grabbed his arm.
"This is ideal Gabe! I can wear this dress to the Luna's succession ceremony!"
Marcus, that son of a bitch, actually let this slut succeed as Luna right away! But maybe it was the Shadowmoon Pack or somewhere the Luna was at that moment, I would guarantee that everything to do with them would stay far in the past.
"Would you look at that, Lila is really good at scavenging the trash that everyone else leaves behind." I said slowly as I died laughing.
The smile on Lila’s face froze and I heard Ethan’s laughter from behind me, as if he found humor in my words.
"My mate was right. I changed my mind about that dress and he threw it out for me."
“Alpha Ethan I also exist in this store and sell things from my own store not familiar with this particular dress, and I believe I have the right to purchase this dress for my lover.”
"‘Sorry Alpha Marcus, you aren’t allowed to buy this dress now,’ The sales lady was shaking while she was crouching on the floor stammering.
She was terrified at the prospect of the Alphas fighting in the middle of the store.
"What the fuck did you just say?" "Marcus," he hissed, but he couldn't believe what he was hearing.
“Who do you think you are? Don’t forget who you are talking to the Alpha of the Shadowmoon Pack!” Lila hissed, her soft and feeble body was suddenly replaced with that of a ferocious fox.
“But... but the owner of this store is the Alpha Ethan.”
“What?”
I was at a loss for words when I slowly turned around and looked at Ethan.
“It’s actually one of my mom’s properties,” Ethan whispered as he pressed against my ear.
"That's pretty impressive."
I pictured the flawless woman I’d been introduced to.
I’d never imagined that Ethan’s mother, the former Luna, could have had her own business.
This would never have been tolerated in the Shadowmoon Pack or so many others.
Lunas were only permitted to oversee pack business that the Alpha delegated to them and by that I mean organize banquets and social functions ... oh, and look after the Alpha's needs.
“I hope that I will be able to be half as amazing as your mother some day Ethan.”
“You’ll certainly see that day Sophia, you don’t have to be held back any longer. ”
“Thank you Kira for always offering comfort when I need it.”
In the meantime, as I was speaking to Kira, the clerk had carefully fetched the blue dress and passed it to Ethan.
Ethan's beautiful blue eyes suddenly turned gold as he grabbed the dress, tore it to shreds, and threw it at Marcus's feet.
I looked at the man standing tall in front of me and the strangest feeling seemed to surge through me as my heart pounded wildly. This charming and impressive man in front of me was my fated mate.
