59- Viktor's Fight for Survival
POV- Viktor Sorrentino.
I wake up with my head throbbing and also with a hand on my chest. I stand up abruptly and look at the woman next to me. She wakes up and smiles when she sees me. Unlike her, I grimace and ask:
"What happened?"
"The question should not be this, but rather: what night was that? I'm all sore, stud..." He tries to be sexy, using a voice that sounded more like a meow.
I start picking up my clothes on the floor and putting them on. Then she approaches and says:
"A gentleman called at dawn and said that you will have to file the divorce papers with your daughter and that she and your grandson do not need your money (damn ...)." He whispers the last word, but that's not the most important thing. And yes, the content of his speech. Nervously, I continue to get dressed and, when I finish, I leave the hotel where I spent the night, heading towards Alfred's house.
\[...\]
I have no idea how many times I have knocked on the door. No one came to welcome me or at least tell me to leave. "At least I know why I'm humiliating myself in this way, since I was the one betrayed!"
Then I notice a movement right behind. A car stops next to mine, and Alfred and Eleonora get out of there. When she sees me, she closes her face and passes straight, without even looking at me. While Alfred remains motionless and watches me, in a cold posture.
"What are you doing here?" He questions and puts his hands in his pockets.
"Alfred, Eleonora betrayed me, and I just can't prove it to her, because in an act of rage and resentment, I ended up throwing away the phone that contained the video."
"I don't care about your reasons. Nobody humiliates my daughter and gets away with it. Viktor Sorrentino, at this moment I am forgetting our friendship and deciding to fight for Eleonora's happiness. This morning, before we left the house, she told me everything that happened after you met, and I felt an immense desire to split her face in half. As a father, I forbid you to approach her and my grandson, whom you rejected as your son."
"How did you say?" Eleonora's voice takes us by surprise, but much more so Alfred, who widens his eyes and opens his mouth in an "O", as if he were about to say something. However, nothing comes out. "What do you mean: 'as a father'?"
"Eleonora, come in... I promise we will talk more calmly." Then he turns to me and says, "Go, and file the divorce papers today. And don't you dare come to us again. Everything we have to solve will be through our lawyers. Have a good time." That said, he enters and closes the door tightly. I think about insisting, but I could not do it.
I go back to my car and observe the mansion for a few more seconds, until I sigh and start.
...
POV- Eleonora Vitale.
Alfred walks in and turns his vision at me, as if he were some horrendous kind of extraterrestrial. He sits in the nearest place and looks at the floor.
"Eleonora... I don't know if it's time for you..."
"Alfred, tell me right away so that this can..."
"I'm your biological father!" He speaks at once and makes my eyes widen.
"It can't be... My father, he..." I turn my eyes to the ground.
"Your mother, Martina Vitale. We dated in our youth. The couple he saw in his dream under the fig tree were us. And the supposed woman who saw her throwing her out of the mansion was my mother, Bianca Castelli. My relationship with his mother was not approved by our parents, but we were so in love with each other, that we didn't wait for approval and slept together. And so you were born, Eleonora. Her mother was probably forced to marry the man she saw as a father for many years."
Listening to his words, I am not sure if I am happy to know that I am no longer alone or if I am sad to know that part of my life was a lie.
"Eleonora, I just want you to know that I have not abandoned you. Like his mother, I was forced to leave, as we were still minors. But the moment I came of age, I went out to look for them. However, my mother introduced me to Vittoria and said that she had been abandoned by Martina."
"How... How did you find out that I am your daughter?" I ask with tears in my eyes and then wiping them away.
"From the first moment, when I saw the enormous resemblance between you and your mother and also when I heard your last name. I remembered the past, and that made me take the initiative to investigate everything about you, just to have confirmation of what I already suspected." He lowers his head and wipes his cheeks, which were wet with tears. "I just want to take care of you, as my daughter. Protect her from everything and everyone, because that's what a father does for a child. I'll understand if I don't want to..." I don't wait for him to finish and I run into his arms, crying like a little child who has just lost his favorite toy.
Feel... "Alfred? Father? Father!" I feel my father kiss the top of my head and run his hand over my back. Gradually, I calm down, and now you can only hear lows and small laments.
"Honey, I'll understand if you don't want to call me father at this moment, since you've never seen me as such..." He says looking sad, and that makes me pull away to look at him.
"I don't see a problem in calling him father, since I have always seen him as a father figure. I was just a little embarrassed, and you might think I was appropriating something." She said shyly.
"My daughter, I would never think something like that. Never, never..." We hug again, and I smile because I am feeling an unparalleled happiness.
SIX MONTHS LATER...
My relationship with my father has progressed a lot. Six months have passed, and in all that time I have had no direct contact with Viktor, but we were still connected by our lawyers.
And today was the day I would be completely free of this relationship that, from the beginning, makes me suffer like no one else. I set about divorce on the condition that he would not approach my daughter or me. "Yes, it will be a beautiful little girl, and her name will be Alessa." According to Dad, this was the name option he had in mind for me.
There is only one month left for my daughter to come into the world, and I am more than excited. Papà has already set up Alessa's entire room and always brings some clothes when she returns from the agency.
He works at a modeling agency. And I said that, after Alessa was born, I would help me become a model, and I'm very happy with the idea.
I hear three knocks on the door and get out of my thoughts. I tell my visitor to come in.
"Figlia, your lawyer called and informed you that we can now go to court." I agree and take my bag. Then we went to the place.
When we arrived, we found Viktor and his lawyer, as well as mine as well. Dad and I avoided exchanging any words with my yet, for now, "husband."
\[...\]
"Since you both consent to the separation, I think you can sign it now..." So, a gentleman hands me a sheet. Without thinking twice, I sign.
And then I turn my cold gaze to Viktor, who, as he picks up the document, watches me and takes a pen. His eyes water, and he blinks so that no one notices his fragility.
As soon as he signs, I get up and, together with my lawyer, we leave the legal room. Meeting with dad and we hugged.
"Are you okay?" He runs his hand over my forehead.
"I'm perfectly fine. I feel like I've lifted a weight off my back." I smile tenderly.
"Eleonora!" I am startled by Viktor's sudden voice and turn towards him. "We need to talk..." I sigh and, before I can say anything, my father takes the lead:
"My daughter has nothing to talk to you. You know, Viktor? I lost all the affection I had for him, but now, for me, it's nothing but nothing." I hold his arm and make him look at me.
"Dad, let me say one last thing to this gentleman. Right?" Reluctantly, he nods and says he will wait for me outside. When I see him move away, I turn towards Viktor and approach at a considerable distance. "Mr. Sorrentino, what do you have to say to me?"
"Despite all that has happened, I still love you." I frown, and a wry smile fills my cold expression.
"Is that so? Then I will say that I am sorry and sorry for you. All I feel about you is hatred and repulsion." Tears run down his cheeks, as for me, I remain with a hard expression. "After all the humiliations I went through by her side, I realized that I only caused harm to myself. Therefore, I ask you never to approach me again. Goodbye..." I turn my back on him and, with my head held high, leave him behind.
