Chapter 71

Sophia's POV

I walked Jacob to the door because he was going to the office soon. He said that there would be an important meeting with a client. I still have pain in my feet from slipping on the catwalk, although it's not as painful as before.

I went into the living room and found that Jacob had forgotten his cell phone. He will definitely look for his cell phone later. When I looked ahead, it turned out that Jacob was gone. But I think his cell phone is very important. I'd better just follow him. Coincidentally, a taxi passed by, so I immediately followed him.

"Sir, please follow the car in front, okay?" I asked the taxi driver.

"Okay, ma'am."

It was a bit speedy, so I still had to quickly catch up with Jacob. I don't think it will be far either. Not long after, suddenly the taxi I was riding in broke suddenly. "Ouch, what's wrong, sir?" I asked.

"That car in front stopped suddenly, apparently hitting someone," answered the taxi driver.

I'm going down. But it turns out Jacob got off first. He approached a woman he had hit. There is an argument going on between them. The woman who was hit was seen hugging my husband. Do they know each other? Then Jacob invited the woman into his car. Maybe he will take the woman to the hospital as a form of accountability.

"We'll follow them again, sir!"

"Sorry ma'am. I can't interfere in criminal matters," said the taxi driver.

I frowned. "Excuse me, sir. The one driving in front was my husband. I want to give him the cell phone he left behind. So I want to give you this Cell phone, sir."

"Oh, I see. Sorry, ma'am."

"It's okay, sir."

This taxi driver is just there. What do you think I did wrong? I still followed Jacob. It turns out my guess was wrong, they were actually heading to a cafe. I became suspicious of them. But I'd better take care that I don't get caught so that I know who the woman who is with my husband really is.

I chose a seat not far from them so I could hear what they were talking about. At first glance, the woman saw me but she didn't know me, and neither did I know her.

The woman was holding my husband. I heard that this woman wanted to be my husband's second wife. My feelings started to boil. How could that happen? If you look at it, the woman is quite beautiful. But how do they know each other? Was it just because Jacob hit the woman and then the woman immediately asked Jacob to marry her? This is so ridiculous.

Jacob, however, rejected the woman and argued that he had a wife. Of course, that meant me.

But Jacob was still silent. The woman was still trying to seduce my husband. I think it's time for a meeting with Jacob's client. But why doesn't Jacob want to leave the cafe?

When I was about to approach her, they suddenly got up, holding each other's hands. I immediately covered my face from Jacob. OK, I'll follow them again.

I took a taxi again and followed them. But I should call Jacob's subordinate, Michael, who is my husband's confidant.

“Hello, Mr. Jacob?” Say hello to Michael. Oh yeah, I'm using Jacob's cell phone.

“Sorry, Mr. Michael, it's me, Sophia. Has my husband had a meeting? Because he forgot his Cell phone and I was on my way to the office to give him his Cell phone," I answered.

“Oh, Mr. Jacob canceled his meeting with a client because he said he had a more urgent meeting. So I just canceled the meeting and Mr. Jacob isn't in the office yet," explained Michael.

“Oh, okay, Mr. Michael, then I'll just go home again."

Jacob turned out to be heading to a hotel. What will he do with the woman in this hotel? I wore a mask until I followed them. Although maybe when Jacob sees me he will know from the clothes I am wearing.

I don't know where they are going. But what is clear is that I try to keep following them. They stopped in front of a room. They entered simultaneously looking at each other. They went in there.

Oh my god, why does it hurt so much when I see this? In fact, I've never seen Jacob smile at another woman apart from today. My heart hurts so much, it's even very sore. I stood in front of the hotel room door but I couldn't hear anything from there.

I waited quite a long time, maybe around 30 minutes, but there was no answer and I chose to just go home. I no longer have the enthusiasm to get married. I thought that with Jacob I could be happier. But it turns out all men are the same. They only give false happiness and they can cheat easily.

I didn't go home straight away. I chose to go to the graves of my parents. I also couldn't hold back my tears there. I cried over the graves of my mother and father. They are the ones who can give me complete happiness.

“Mom, I just want to come with you. This world is very cruel. The man I thought could give me happiness turned out to be cheating on me too. I can't do it like this. I've given up.”

I can't hold myself back any longer. For me, my mother used to be a good listener for me. She never once hurt my heart. She is always there for me. Likewise with my father. If only they were still alive, maybe I would have chosen not to get married. Because all the marriages I've had have only resulted in sadness.

“Dad, why do you have to leave your daughter alone like this? This world is too cruel. In fact, I don't have anything at all anymore. The house you left behind? My proud husband also betrayed me.”
