Chapter 2131 2141

Chapter 2131 2141
"Liam, my patience is wearing thin, and I have no interest in playing these childish games with you," Feng Lan said coldly. "Let me ask you one last time: are you going to hand over Elena, or what exactly are you feeling so guilty about?"
"Gu guilty?" Liam chuckled. "Let me repeat myself: if you want to test Elena, go right ahead—provided you bring the Empress out first so I can test whether she's secretly a Prophet. Otherwise, today, you'll have to step over my corpse to get to her."
Archie stood frozen, his mind blank. He never imagined Liam would push things this far.
Feng Lan’s expression hardened. Looking at Liam with a chilling, half-mocking smile, he said, "Liam, I acknowledge your extraordinary talent, and I have no intention of making an enemy of you. Don't ruin your own future for the sake of someone else; you have no idea what a Prophet truly represents."
"I know full well..." Liam replied flatly. "Your reasons are nothing but absolute garbage. Wiping someone out purely because of a unique trait? You eight major factions lord over the entire Myriad Tribulation Star, treating the lower-class citizens as less than human, slaughtering and even enslaving them at whim—how is any of that different from what a Prophet supposedly brings?"
"Absurd sophistry!" Feng Lan glared at him. "Don't say I didn't give you a chance. Out of respect for the Drunkard, I'll grant you a single strike. If you can block this one sword from me, I will consider the matter settled and leave immediately. If you fail to block it, you hand Elena over, no exceptions!"
Liam's eyes narrowed. "And if I do block it? Will you bring the Empress out for me to test?"
Too impatient to trade any more words with Liam, Feng Lan unleashed an overwhelming, razor-sharp sword intent. A flash of piercing white light erupted across his frame, driving a terrifying pressure outward that caused nearby Saint-Tier powerhouses to stagger and lose their footing.
Liam's gaze turned grim. He unhooked the Dragon-Roar Blade from his back, instantly gathering and condensing every ounce of his internal energy and battle intent.
"Giving up resistance?" Feng Lan remarked. "My word is iron. If you block this sword, I won't interfere anymore. If you die under it, don't blame me!"
Stepping into a classic draw-blade stance, Liam looked up at Feng Lan, his eyes burning with monstrous fighting spirit.
He wanted to see just how wide the gap was between a newly advanced Permanent-Tier fighter and the absolute pinnacle figures of this world!
The next instant, the Sword-Bearer Elder and Liam moved almost simultaneously. Even Archie could only catch two blurring afterimages flashing through the air.
The silvery-white sword strapped across Feng Lan's back cleared its scabbard with a crisp snap, releasing a raw wave of killing intent and razor-sharp edge as he slashed forward.
From the opposite side, a dragon's roar pierced the air as the Dragon-Roar Blade sprang from its sheath.
A flicker of genuine surprise crossed Feng Lan's face. Facing him head-on, Liam hadn't chosen to play defense—he had opted for a direct, all-out counter-attack.
Interesting! Feng Lan sneered inwardly.
Clang!
A crisp, piercing metallic clash rang out, followed by a violent explosion of internal energy right at the epicenter of the impact.
Liam had poured his absolute maximum strength into this strike—it was his ultimate trump card.
Boom!
Chaotic shockwaves tore through the air, sending shattered rocks flying in all directions.
The thick metal fortress walls, reinforced to withstand massive beast tides, were instantly gouged and carved open by the razor-sharp residual energy.
Archie hurriedly channeled his internal energy, forming a thick barrier of water to block the surging aftermath. Without it, anyone below the Saint-Tier would have been instantly shredded.
Even so, shock gripped his chest. He realized that if he had been the one facing Liam’s strike, he would have had zero confidence in blocking it.
At the center of the clash, a heavy wave of pressure crashed into Liam, causing his internal organs to churn violently. Blood welled up in his throat, and he spat it out freely.
He had no idea how much power Feng Lan had actually put into that swing, but... he could feel just how brutally difficult it was to take that single strike head-on.
Thud!
Liam crashed backward, slamming heavily into the ground. Countless fine cuts, carved by the residual sword intent, shredded his skin and clothes until he was covered in a bloody mess.
Slowly, the surrounding smoke and dust began to clear. Spitting another mouthful of blood, Liam staggered back up onto his feet.
In the distance, Feng Lan looked entirely composed at a glance. However, a closer look revealed that the right hand gripping his sword was trembling ever so slightly, and his face held a faint, repressed flush.
Because of the dust and the fading weather conditions, though, nobody else noticed the subtle strain.
