Chapter 182: Don't Die Damian

Chapter 182: Don't Die Damian
Brenda’s POV

My hands were still covered with Damian's blood when I knelt on the battlefield. Behind me, his body was cold and motionless. My chest hurt so much that it felt like it would burst.

"Damian." With my voice breaking, I whispered. "You said that we would fight together. You said you would stay.

I could hear the enemy laughing. My pack struggled around me, trying to maintain the line while howling and bleeding. But instead of hearing Damian's heartbeat, all I could hear was stillness.

My eyes were blurry with tears. I wanted to give up for a second. To allow the adversary to triumph. If the person I loved the most was gone, what good was fighting for?

One of my pack mates yelled, "Luna!" in a panicked tone. "You are needed!"

I raised my head. I was being watched by dozens of wolves who still had faith in me. They needed their commander because they were battling for their life.

I took a deep breath and used trembling hands to wipe away my tears. I said to myself in a whisper, "I can't fall now." "That is not what Damian would want."

My knees were weak, but my heart was blazing as I stood. I lifted my sword and faced the pack. "Don't give up! Keep our homes, families, and future safe from them!

The wolves' spirits rose as they responded with howls.

The leader of the enemy scoffed. "A courageous statement from someone who has just lost everything."

With fire in my chest, I looked at him. With a calm voice now, I stated, "I haven't lost everything." "My pack is still with me. And my strength is still there.

He laughed. "Power? You're trembling with sorrow. You're broken.

I tightened my hold on the sword. Perhaps I am. Broken, however, does not imply loss. I'll fight till the day I die.

With cries resonating through the flames, the pack cheered. Their eyes glowed with hope once more.

With a heavy heart, I took one look at Damian's body. "It's for you," I said.

Then I rushed ahead, once again leading my pack into the storm.

I was encircled by the roar of wolves and the clang of steel. My anguish, love, and wrath drove every blow of my sword, and I fought like I had never fought before.

The leader moved forward as the enemy men retreated. His presence engulfed the battlefield like a shadow.

He sneered, "So the little Luna dares to stand alone."

Despite my arms shaking, I raised my sword. "You don't scare me."

He chuckled. "You ought to be. You have no idea who you are.

"Perhaps I don't," I stated firmly. However, I am aware of what I stand for. I defend my pack. I defend Damian. And I battle to ensure that you never take away our future.

He squinted his eyes. "Then confront me and pass away alongside them."

His blade slammed into mine as he rushed. I stumbled back, but I didn't fall because of the force. A heat that I had before sensed but had never comprehended rose deep within me.

The earth shuddered. Light blazed in my eyes. Power surged through my body, stronger than anything I had ever experienced, and I gasped.

The eyes of the enemy leader grew wide. "It's impossible."

My blade gleamed with silver light as I raised it once more. My hands stopped shaking. My sorrow had become fortitude.

"This is my power," I declared, my voice resonating with a force bigger than myself. "And you will confront it tonight."

The battlefield trembled with each blow as we engaged in combat once more. As I stood alone against the enemy leader, steel shrieked, sparks flew, and the pack remained silent.

But he smiled as I pushed him away. "You believe this is finished? What lurks in the shadows is unknown to you.

Even though I felt a chill go down my spine, I persisted. Then let the shadows appear. I'll burn them all.

Silver fire filled the battlefield as the spark within me burned hotter. With horror in their eyes, the enemy soldiers paused.

With a yell, the commander struck me with his blade. "Then, Luna, prove it! Show that you deserve the blood you are carrying!

Sparks flashed as our swords locked. My strength increased steadily as my heart thumped.

And I was aware that this battle would determine everything.
