Chapter Seventy-Six
Chapter Seventy-Six
Olivia
"What kind of surprise?" He asks with a smile, abandoning his food.
"The kind that will make you want the kids sleeping in seconds."
"I guess we better get started on getting them to sleep then." He says and stands up to collect our plates.
"Oh no, I'm not done eating. And you haven't spent time with them today." I tell him and keep on eating my food.
The look on his face, I don't know if he is sad or happy. And then he laughs, and when he does, Liam, Isabella and Godric look at him. It's like they are amazed, although it's something that they do everytime he laughs. But when I laugh, they laugh along with me for some reason.
As I finish my food, he does just that, he plays with the kids. And when I'm done eating, I pick up both our plates and take them to the kitchen and clear our plates then put them in the sink. For some, unless we have guests, we don't use the dishwasher. Even the girls who help around the house don't, I don't know if it's because they have seen me do it or what.
"Hey, have you spoken to your brother?" I ask him, reminded of the call I had with him in the morning.
"Uhh, what did he say?" He asks me instead of answering, which is answer enough.
"Jason, he's your brother." I tell him.
Apparently they haven't spoken in the last two weeks because of the incident of their mother. I don't know if Jason trying to cut off his whole family for me is sane. It's like being with me makes him crazy and I wonder if he was ever like that with other women. I mean I understand that he is protective of us but honestly, what is he trying to do? Now everyone will think I'm the one influencing him to cut off his family.
"Yeah, I remember that." He says scratching his head.
"Good. Because he's coming over for a late lunch tomorrow."
"Olivia if my family can't respect you then they're not welcome here."
"So what? You're just going to stop talking to your whole family like that? What if one of the triplets do that to us one day, how would that make you feel?" I am trying, I really am trying. I don't know if us arguing like this will help him understand.
"I'm not my mother nor am I my brother."
Issa and Liam start to cry because our voices are rising. I don't want to argue with him right now, but if this is not solved then it will get worse. I don't want him to not have any connection with his family. If we are going to build a family together, then he needs to understand how important family is. I don't want our kids to not have roots to look back to and I need him to understand that.
"Baby I know that. And your brother didn't do anything wrong. As for your mother, I know she doesn't like me much but honestly there's nothing I can do. Plus think about our children, they're going to need both of our families. If not for you, at least make peace with them for our children." I try again.
"My brother knew what he was doing by bringing mother here. He is much to blame just as she is." He argues and the babies cry harder
"Can we settle down? I don't want us to fight, let alone a out other people. YeAh?" I say trying to calm him down.
He walks towards me on the other side of the table and kisses my forehead together with Issa's.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to overreact. I just don't like how my family treats you."
"Baby, it's just your mother. You know your brother has no problem with me." I say with a smile.
"Yeah, I've just had a bit of a rough day at work. I'm really trying to find someone to lead the company but there's no one good enough. I don't know what to do. I want to be home more often than I am right now."
I noticed how tired he seemed earlier when he came home. Work stress is really having a toll on him, or maybe it's just the stress of not being home with us. It's a good thing then for the night ahead that we have.
"Come on, let's head upstairs and let the kids sleep." I say as I put Issa in her rocking bed and he does the same to Liam.
"I promise I will call my brother tomorrow in the morning at work." He says as we head to the lift.
An hour later the kids are in their bassinets and we are heading to the shower. Might as well start with the good parts, it's been long since we've showered together. The touching and kissing gets me ready for what is about to come. And boy does he kiss me. He keeps complaining about me still having milk in my breasts, in fact he calls them his tits. He said he misses his tits.
After our shower, we head to our special bedroom and our real night starts. Or so we think because just as we things start heating up, the first baby starts crying. By the time we get to our bedroom, all three of them are crying really hard. We try to give them bottles of milk but they don't want any. It's surprising because they don't seem sick. They don't have a fever or anything of that sort.
We've tried everything but they won't stop crying. I finally lay in bed and decide that they will cry lying on top of me. I take Liam and Ric and lay back on the pillows and start singing for them. Drowning their cries with my voice. After singing for a while, they finally keep quiet and start falling asleep. Isabella also sleeps on her father's chest, although he's still standing bouncing her around the room.
I slowly and carefully slide Ric off me to the bed and stand up with Liam to put him in his bed. When I go out Ric in his though, they start crying again. Honestly it's as if they know we were trying to have sex. They are cock blocking us. I go put both of them on the bed and tell Jason to do the same with Issa. I take their bottles and put each next to them all.
"We're not having kids again if this will keep happening." Jason says and I laugh.
" It's a good thing it was you who wanted kids in the first place."
"I didn't know they would cock block me like this." He says and I full on laugh.
I guess it's a good thing that our bed is big enough to feet more people.
