Chapter 97 - Rejecting My Contracted Luna

  Emma's POV

Christina is sitting at the edge of my bed chattering away about how Ethan and I finally figured out that we are mates. To be honest I am only half listening. She burst in her about an hour ago, waking me from the most peaceful sleep. She placed a tray of food under my nose and demanded that I eat. Ezra had been with us for a while until he proclaimed that girls are boring and went in search of Ethan and Daniel. Christina and I just laughed as we watched him storm from the room.

Once the door slammed shut behind him. Christina looks at me with a smirk on her face. "Now you can tell me all of the dirty details."

"I most certainly will not," I scoff at her.

"Oh, Come on," she whines. "I would tell you all about Daniel if you asked."

I wrinkle my nose at the thought of hearing about Christina and Daniel's sex life. "No thank you."

"You can be such a prude," Christina laughs. "Just tell me one thing. Whose, you know what, is bigger, Alpha Ethan or Alpha Thomas?"

My mouth falls open. "I never... Alpha Thomas. I don't know."

"Wow," Christina laughs. "I have never seen your face turn so red. I guess I owe Daniel twenty dollars."

  "For what?!" I exclaim loudly.

"I was sure you were sleeping with Alpha Thomas," she says, like it is no big deal. "But Daniel said that you were too much of a prude to sleep with someone you just met."

I open my mouth to give her a piece of my mind but her eyes glaze over and I know that she is mind linking with someone. I know it is Daniel. I am sure Ethan has already asked him to be his Beta by now and I am anxious to know the answer. It would be nice to head back to Crescent Pack with some friends.

Her eyes return to normal and she has a concerned look on her face. "Daniel says he has something important to talk to me about."

"Oh," I say, trying to keep the smile off of my face.

"I have to admit I'm nervous," she says in a low voice that is out of character for her. "He has been wanting to return to Crescent Pack but he wasn't sure if Alpha Ethan would let us return or not."

"I think you would be surprised. Ethan can be pretty forgiving." I tell her.

"I hope so," Christina says with a sigh. "I want to be wherever you and Ezra are and I know that Daniel feels the same way."

"Then go find him and find out!" I yell loudly at her.

She shoots me a toothy smile and heads out of the door. But no sooner have I gotten comfortable in the bed once again, the door to my room flies open once more and Ezra comes hopping onto the bed. Ethan is hot on his trail as he runs into the room.

"Ezra," Ethan tries his best to use a stern voice. "I told you that your mother needs rest."

"No," Ezra protests as he snuggles into the bed with me.

Slowly I stroke his dark hair until he falls fast asleep. Ethan comes and sits next to me and we both stare at our little angel together.

"He is pretty perfect," Ethan says with an unreadable expression on his face.

"Yeah," I say as I push Ezra's hair out of his face. "He is."

"He needs a little brother," Ethan says absentmindedly as he stares down at Ezra.

Ethan looks up at me with his blue eyes and a smile on his face but I look at him like he has lost his mind. "We have been mated for a whole two seconds and you are already trying to knock me up with another little boy."

"I guess I would be happy with a little girl too," Ethan says jokingly.

"What if I said no more," I say stubbornly.

"We will have plenty of time to talk about this on the trip back tomorrow," Ethan tells me.

"Tomorrow?" My heart falls. That doesn't give me nearly enough time to say my goodbyes.

"Duncan needs to get back here and I need to get back home," Ethan says with a concerned look on his face. "You aren't having second thoughts are you."

"Of course not," I shake my head vigorously back and forth. "I just wasn't expecting to leave so soon."

"I am sorry to spring it on you like this," Ethan still looks concerned.

"It is really okay," I tell Ethan with a heavy heart. "I just need to get packing."

"I can pack your things," Ethan offers and I cringe at the thought of him packing my bags.

"Why don't you pack up Ezra's things?" I tell Ethan. "We can just pack the essentials for now and send for the rest later."

"Do you want me to tell Ezra or do you want to?" Ethan asks as he pulls the covers up around our sleeping child.

"We should tell him together when he wakes up," I suggest and Ethan quickly agrees with me.

Suddenly Ezra hops up in the bed and scares us both half to death. "I will go pack my things right now," he yells as he runs out the door.

"I guess he wasn't really asleep," Ethan murmurs to himself.

"He is sneaky," I laugh. "I have to keep a close eye on him."

"I can tell," Ethan laughs in return.

Just then, Ezra pokes his little head back into my bedroom door. "And I would like a little sister," he proclaims before we hear the pitter patter of his little feet running back down the hall.

"I guess that settles that then," Ethan wipes his hands together like he has just finished a hard day's work.

"You can't be serious," I mutter.

"You wouldn't want to disappoint our little guy now would you?" Ethan has a smug look on his face.

I let out a low growl and Ethan scrambles from the bed and chases after Ezra to help him pack.
