Found Out The Purpose Of The Red Water!
Simon parked his car a few miles away from O'Hara's mansion. He shifted his gaze to Scarlett. "You should rest and forget about what happened tonight. Scarlett, we had a beautiful ceremony. That is what you should be thinking about."
"Simon. This is your uncle I am talking about. You're not upset."
"I can't be upset. Uncle Viggo is a selfish man, which is why Raven would want him dead. He murdered Luna Agatha, and she spent years looking for him. All I can say is that he got exactly what he deserved. I'll make certain that no one blames you."
"What do you intend to do? What about the bad luck that is going to befall us and the pack?"
"Scarlett. There is no such thing as bad luck, and I refuse to believe anything the council has said about tonight. He declared tonight a holy night and warned us that getting blood on us would bring us bad luck. Do you also believe that?"
Scarlett took a breather. "I... I'm not sure. It's your ritual."
"And I am telling you that you shouldn't believe in them and have a good sleep. I'll come get you once everything is in order." Simon said. He leaned in to kiss her, and he watched her step out of the car. She waved to him as she made her way to the house. Simon only left when she was out of sight of him.
Scarlett entered the room through her window to find it dark and empty. She turned on her light but couldn't see anyone in the room. She went to her closet and took the clothes she was wearing off. She reached for her pyjamas and put them on. Simon had cleaned her up before driving her home. He was more understanding than she had expected. Scarlett went to bed, trying not to think about what had happened.
The next morning, the door was flung open. Mia noticed that the bed was not empty. "Scarlett?" She approached it and shook her. "Is that you?" She heard a moan. "Scarlett. Why did you stay so late? Belly almost found out. So many lies had to be told."
Scarlett blinked open her eyes and looked at her sister. "So much happened yesterday. I had both my Luna Coronation and my wedding."
"What?" Mia gasped. "You are married? Coronation? With Simon?" Scarlett nodded. "When did you even tell him you loved him?"
"Just yesterday."
Mia took a seat on the bed. "Don't you think you're going a little too fast with this?"
"How fast is too fast?"
"Err... you married at the age of 18 without your family present."
"Mia, I'm a half werewolf. Except for you, my family will not understand any of this. Besides, mom had already identified Simon as her son-in-law."
"She thought he was human at the time, not the other way around. Scarlett. So, what happens next? Will you now move in with your husband? Will you completely abandon your human life to fulfil your role as Luna?"
"I intended to let everything go. Mia, I must accept that I have a second life. I can't keep running from this any longer."
"So you've made up your mind about everything?"
"I've made up my mind about everything. Today, you and I will have fun, and I think I should take advantage of the remaining weeks before mom returns."
Mia shrugged. "Who would have guessed you'd become a Martin?" Mia rose to her feet. "You should be at the table for breakfast at 8 a.m. Avery should be back from church by 12, and I'll gather the girls."
"For what?"
"To have a good time with you. You should also inform them that you are married. They are your best friends." Mia stepped out of the room.
Scarlett let out a sigh. Mia was right. She should definitely tell her best friends.
…
It was two o'clock in the afternoon. Scarlett sipped her smoothie and gazed out the window, waiting for her best friends to arrive. "Do you think they'll show up?" She asked Mia.
Mia's gaze was drawn to the window. "They've already arrived." She smiled at Scarlett.
When Cornelia and Avery walked into the Ice House, Scarlett's face lit up. "What is the occasion?" As she sat down, Avery inquired.
"Because the last time you brought us here, you were plotting." Cornelia added.
"Well. "I have something to say to you."
"Scarlett. Did you kill someone?" Avery asked.
"And why would you have asked that of me?" She did, but that wasn't the reason she invited her friends over. Scarlett let out a sigh. "I called you guys here to inform you of some important news. You may not like it, but I don't care."
"News? What news?" Cornelia asked.
Scarlett proudly displayed her flower ring. "Guess what?"
"You ordered a flower ring?" Avery asked.
Cornelia humped with her arms folded. "And you didn't buy for us?"
"Oh gosh." Mia sighed and rolled her eyes. "You're all idiots. Scarlett is married."
Avery and Cornelia began to laugh. "Married? Seriously?" Avery turned to face Cornelia. "She said she is married."
"I am married to Simon. Yesterday was my coronation as Luna. You can confirm this with Mace. He was present at the wedding." Scarlett boasted.
Avery cast a glance at Scarlett. "You are not lying, are you?"
"Why would I lie about my marriage?"
"Oh, fuck. You are so young. Why would you get married?" Cornelia asked.
"To become Luna. Also, Simon's bride. I love him. You're all aware of it." She turned to face Mia. "Did you keep the book in a safe place?"
"I brought it with me. For safety."
Avery and Cornelia were unusually quiet. They were still perplexed as to what had occurred. Their friends have gotten married. Just like that? And they didn't realise it until later. They weren't invited either.
"When is the honeymoon?" Cornelia asked.
"Werewolves don't go on honeymoons." Avery said.
"They do, but Simon and I haven't considered leaving yet. We're the pack leader now, so we're needed." Scarlett reached for Mia's bag and took it. She took out the book and placed it on the table. As she opened it, she cast a sidelong glance. "I don't understand why the names are so long."
"Perhaps we should start from the back," Cornelia suggested.
"How come I didn't think of that?" Scarlett asked. She concentrated on the book and flipped it over. She flashed the UV light on the first page and gasped. "It's very different, Cornelia." She put her hand on it and started reading. "The red water," she said.
"The red water?" Avery asked. Then she remembered. "Is it referring to the water we saw? The one I took?"
Scarlett nodded. "Fuck. Avery. That water does not appear to be ordinary. It's known as "Holy Water." According to hunters, it provides strength. It also saves lives, cures diseases, and..." Scarlett turned to face her friends. "Resurrect a human or werewolf."
"This water can do all of that?" Mia asked.
"There's only one way to find out, M."
