Chapter 66. Raphael and Jason Confide in Each Other

Chapter 66. Raphael and Jason Confide in Each Other
Today, Kaelthor had gone to a party at an old friend’s house. If he returned to find Jason damaging his beloved flowers like this, he’d surely fly into a rage and beat Jason to within an inch of his life.
Raphael stepped up behind Jason and said coolly, “Just a reminder! Grandpa spent three years growing that purple chrysanthemum before it finally bloomed. If you don’t want to be beaten to death, you’d best keep your distance from it starting now.”
Although Raphael’s footsteps had barely made a sound, his sudden words startled Jason so much that he spun around in alarm. When he saw it was Raphael behind him, he let out a breath of relief.
“Thank goodness Grandpa isn’t home yet.” Regaining his composure, Jason then caught sight of the scattered petals all over the ground and panicked. He hurriedly began trying to hide the evidence of his crime.
He hurriedly gathered all the flower petals and threw them into the toilet, while warning Raphael, "Raphael, just pretend you didn’t see anything, alright? Absolutely don’t tattle to Grandpa!"
Raphael snorted, pulled something out of his pocket, and tossed it to Jason. "Here, for you."
Jason caught it swiftly and studied it closely. His previously gloomy face immediately lit up, eyes gleaming with excitement. "Raphael, you really are the kindest big brother ever! How did you know I liked this car?"
One hand still in his pocket, the other hanging loosely by his side, Raphael replied nonchalantly, "Why are you acting surprised? You’ve mentioned this car to me no less than ten times."
Jason gripped the car key tightly, a satisfied smile spreading across his face. The car Raphael had gifted him was this year’s newest limited edition sports model from Rolls-Royce, available only through personal orders, with only three produced worldwide. So, this supercar wasn’t something money alone could buy.
Jason was a living example. He couldn’t afford to get it. But that was fine, because Raphael was a VIP client of Rolls-Royce. Every year, he received invitations to their exclusive anniversary gala and always got official correspondence from their headquarters.
So, when word got out about this limited-edition sports model, Jason wouldn’t stop talking about it in front of Raphael. He pestered Raphael so much that he finally caved and ordered one for him.
"Raphael, where’s the car now? Did you drive it here for me?" Jason looked like he couldn’t wait to test drive his dream supercar.
"It was just delivered to my private estate this afternoon. Have dinner with Grandma first, then you can pick it up."
Two years ago, Raphael had moved out of the Wulfhart mansion and started living at Celeste Manor. He only returned on weekends to visit Laura. The drive from the mansion to Celeste Manor took an hour, so Jason had no choice but to calm down a bit.
“Go go go! Let’s go eat already!” Even so, he was still thrilled and kept urging Raphael.
Raphael stood still, raising an eyebrow. “Not mad at me anymore?”
Jason frowned. “Why would I be mad at you?”
Raphael walked over to the railing, gazing out at the night scene in the distance. “Grandma said you’ve been upset ever since you got back. Just now I even saw you rip out half of Grandpa’s purple chrysanthemum patch.”
Jason pouted. “I’m not mad, just frustrated.”
He liked Jacintha, but Raphael hated her. He even scolded her harshly in front of everyone. So how could Jason possibly feel at ease? If Raphael could protect Sharon, then he wanted to defend Jacintha too!
Jason stepped up beside the railing, turning his head to look at Raphael. “Raphael, I really don’t understand why you’re always so harsh toward Jacintha.”
Raphael furrowed his brows. “I’ve never attacked her. Are you speaking up on her behalf now?”
Jason let out a quiet laugh, turned around to lean his back against the railing, and sighed. “You and I are brothers. How could I possibly resent you? I’m not the kind of person to get angry at you over someone else. Compared to Jacintha, you matter much more to me.”
Those words came straight from Jason’s heart. He had grown up in Wulfhart. Even though he and Raphael were only cousins, their bond was stronger than that of blood brothers.
In the past, Jason had caused more than a few problems, getting into fights, drinking, street racing, chasing girls… He’d done all the things rich kids typically did, except drugs. And every time he got into trouble, it was always Raphael who stepped in to clean up the mess. If it weren’t for Raphael, Kaelthor might have beaten him to death long ago.
Thinking back to the way Raphael berated Jacintha, Jason grumbled, “Raphael, I get that you were worried sick when Sharon got hurt and maybe lost control a bit. But Jacintha isn’t the kind of person you say she is…”
"How long have you known her? Has it even been half a month?" Raphael cut Jason off coldly.
Jason was taken aback and shook his head. "Not even half a month yet."
Raphael sneered. "I've known her for two years, so I understand her better than you do. I know exactly what kind of person she is. That’s why I don’t want you getting involved with her."
"Raphael, this time you’re wrong," Jason said smugly, looking at Raphael. "When it comes to judging rivals, maybe I’m no match for you. But when it comes to love, I definitely have more experience than you!"
Raphael curled his lip in disdain. "Don’t you feel ashamed accumulating love experience by how many times you soak your cock in some woman’s pussy?"
"That’s right! That’s exactly how I’ve gained experience," Jason said nonchalantly. "You’ve loved Sharon since childhood. Isn’t that why you’ve made her the benchmark, thinking only women like her are good, and constantly comparing Jacintha to her?"
Raphael replied coldly, "Jacintha doesn’t even deserve to be compared to Sharon."
"OK, OK! You say you don’t compare them, but in truth, you’re doing it silently. Haven’t you unconsciously compared them again and again?" Jason pressed.

Without waiting for Raphael’s response, Jason continued, "Don’t deny it. You definitely have compared them. You’ve already decided Sharon is the only right answer, so of course you naturally see Jacintha as the wrong one."
