Chapter 5 Chapter 5
A huge diamond ring shone when it was hit by the light, making it look even more majestic but despite its beauty, Thalina could not feel anything while looking at it.
For her, it was just a fancy and beautiful ring without meaning. Something that she doesn’t want to wear.
“I do not deserve to be your Queen King Thaddeus. You heard what Magnus said, I am useless. I cannot give you an heir, what will you use me for then?”
A smile graced King Thaddeus' lips amused by what he heard. Thalina had rejected him multiple times in just a few hours. Something new to him. Something that he hasn’t experienced yet.
Some part of him was pissed but there is also a part of him that was deeply entertained by the woman’s behavior.
“You think I will make you my Queen so you can conceive me an heir Thalina? You think highly of yourself. A bearer of my heir will be thoroughly chosen. A she-wolf with great strength is the only suitable bearer of my blood,” he eyed Thalina from head to toe, not minding if his action offended the woman. “Which isn’t you Thalina,” he added insulting Thalina even more.
Thalina clenches her fist suppressing her anger so she won’t end up punching the king in the face.
“Then why do you have to make me your Queen?” she bravely asked meeting King Thaddeus' gaze.
Thaddeus held his chin as if thinking while staring at Thalina’s face.
“Because you look helpless?” he responded.
Thalina’s chest moved up and down completely pissed by the King’s response. She is on the verge of losing her control but she needs to be more patient because she’s aware that hurting the King means ending her life.
“I don’t need your help, King Thaddeus. Just bring me back to Magnus’ territory”
“And what? Will you keep on begging my half-brother to take you back? I didn’t expect my mate to be that low Thalina,”
Thalina took a deep breath to calm herself. With gritting teeth, she says, “I, Thalina Serafine reject you-”
Before she could even finish her sentence King Thaddeus claimed her lips.
“Say those words again and I will kiss you,”
She was fuming mad. She can feel the veins in her neck popping out from anger.
She wanted to try again and reject the King but the thought of being kissed crossed her mind. She contemplated whether to utter those words again while King Thaddeus watched her completely entertained.
“Fix yourself,” he said then took Thalina’s hand and forcefully put the ring on Thalina’s finger.
“Removed that ring and I will make sure to cut off your hands,”
He smiled at her while she gave him a death glare and the moment he stepped out of the room she threw the lamp on the door releasing all her anger that she had been suppressing.
She sat on the bed as she tried to calm herself. She took deep breaths that she could no longer count until her rage lessened and went completely out of her system.
The moment she calmed down she walked towards the window finding an opening. A smile graced her lips when she successfully opened the window that she could use as a way out of this palace.
Without wasting any second she started tying the blanket and curtains together and rolled it down the window when her desired length was achieved.
It was too high but risking her life climbing down the window would be much better than spending the rest of her life in this palace.
Removing all the fear inside her chest she climbed down the window holding the rope she made.
Her knees wobble out of fear of falling but she keeps going.
Happiness surged inside her when her feet were close to touching the ground but before that could happen she was pulled up and was eight feet from the ground once again.
Upon looking up she saw the face of the man that she could not stand staring at. He had a smile plastered on his face that annoyed her even more.
“Planning to escape my mate?” he playfully asked.
Thalina glared at him before looking at the ground once again.
She might end up being injured if she jumps, but for her that will be much better than going up and facing that annoying man.
She closed her eyes tightly preparing to jump but before that could happen he pulled her up again making her distance from the ground twice as before.
“You want to jump my mate?” he annoyingly asked.
Thalina could feel her knees shake even more and the courage she had earlier left her body.
She wanted to leave the palace but the thought of jumping was something she couldn’t handle so instead of doing anything she just hugged the blanket tightly like a koala and let the king pull him up.
She can feel rage surging in again when she comes face to face with King Thaddeus.
“Just let me leave,” she firmly uttered but instead of listening to her, King Thaddeus possessively wrapped his arms around her waist and carried her like she was a light feather that didn’t weigh anything.
“Put me down,” she demanded waggling her feet but he didn’t let the woman command her.
He carried her on his shoulder like a bag of rice and threw her on the bed.
Thalina immediately crawled to the corner and hugged her knees, now scared of the consequences of her action.
“You aware that escaping the palace comes with consequences right my mate?”
Thalina was silent, squeezing herself into the corner even more scared while looking at the King whose playful demeanor was now gone.
Her heart was beating loudly against her chest while watching the man remove the first two buttons of his dress shirt and once done he directed his gaze at Thalina.
Not satisfied with their distance he crawled on the bed and moved his face close to Thalina who was now on the verge of fainting.
“How do you like to be punished little wolf?”
