Chapter 35
Julia POV
Reece opened the door to his apartment, and the steamy scent of wild flowers floated passed my nose. I looked at Reece and saw him blush. It was rather charming. Especially after the incident in the yard. I was still unsure what had happened. Why he had felt the need to kneel at my feet. His excuse was a little lame.
I don’t think he would be the type of man that needed to penny pinch, so his story of diving for his loose change, didn’t make any sense.
Before I could say anything, Reece cleared his throat.
“I hope its alright with you. I asked one of the omega’s to run a bath for you. I have also asked the kitchen staff to bring up a tray of food for you. You are exhausted, you need rest.”
He spoke the last part with a certain defiance in his voice. It made my lips twitch as I tried to stop the full on smile that was threatening to spread out on my face.
This man, this strong and powerful Alpha, was so kind. To me, at least. I thought to myself. Reece cleared his throat again and gestured to the bathroom. He had a peculiar look on his face. Almost like he was retreating from me.
I didn’t like it, the thought of not having this man in my life hit me like a Mack truck.
It was done. I had fallen in love with this gorgeous man. I smiled a little sadly to myself, thinking that one day, he would meet his mate. And as a wolfless woman, it would definitely not be me. Jackson must have been a fluke. It should never have happened.
I peered at Reece again. I didn’t want to blurt out that I loved him. But I wanted him to know that if he wanted me. I would be his.
I took a step toward him, but he stepped away. Hurt shone from my eyes and robbed me of breath.
“My…Julia. Are you okay? Whats wrong? Should I phone for Jeremy? Today must have been so confusing for you. Seeing Jackson again, thinking what could have been. I’m sure you are upset and overwhelmed. Take your time in the bath. Just ask Jessica to phone down to the kitchen when you are ready for food.”
He gestured to the omega, who was waiting patiently by the bathroom door. I smiled at her, politely, I hoped. Nonetheless, I asked her to leave the apartment.
I was furious. And so totally fed up with all the back and forth between us. How dare he think that I was upset because of Jackson.
How dare he think me so fickle. Well, I’ll show him.
I made a grab for his upper arm, when he spun towards me, at the same time. As my hand was already raised to grab him, I reached out and fisted my hand in his shirt, I saw the shock flash in his eyes, as I dragged the large Alpha down to my level, I noticed the look of surprise change to blazing heat as my mouth captured his lips.
Our mouths touched, I wasn’t exactly gentle, but I figured he could take the onslaught as my lips parted and I bit gently down on his lower lip. The moan I heard coming from deep within Reece’s throat did something to me that I couldn’t explain.
I felt like I was on fire. My blood felt like it was zinging through my veins, like I had been plugged in to some sort of energy source. I didn’t know why. I had never had a sexual relationship, but I had kissed before. Those few times didn’t even begin to compare to this. I felt like something special was happening….
Then, suddenly his mouth, his lips were everywhere and raw hot lust grabbed on to me.
Reece POV
“I need to back off a bit.” I thought to myself. Raven did not agree.
‘Of course we do, raven. Our lady has had a lot of information thrust on her today. She needs rest. She needs a break from everyone. Including us. You seem to be forgetting that she saw Jackson again today, too. And look what effect that has had on her. I have never seen such a dreamy face on her. No, I have made up my mind, Rav.”
I internally grimaced as I heard my wolf call me an arsehole, then fade out to the back of my mind.
“Perfect.” I thought, I had upset Julia and now, Raven
I couldn’t stay here. Not when I knew Jackson was on her mind.
I turned toward her, to say I would leave her alone. The words never left my lips. Julia’s small hand had grabbed on to me. And was pulling me towards her. Not a second passed, then her lips touched mine.
At first I was frozen. At first; when I felt her teeth bite down on my lower lip, I swear I was about to cum. I tried hard to curb the desire running through my veins. The effort it took let a small moan escape from me.
That was it. That was all it took. For both Julia’s and my own, dams to break.
Not one word passed between us. There was no need. It was instinctual. With my lips still on hers, I walked Julia backwards, towards my bed.
To my surprise, Julia swung us around at the last minute. So I was closest to the bed. shock must have shown on my face when two small hands pushed at my chest, and I tumbled down to bed.
It was like she was insatiable. Our tongues fighting for dominance. I was thrilled, excited and downright lustful.
And then….
Julia jumped of my hips, where she had been straddling me, licked her swollen full mouth, slowly. Then said “I do not have any feelings for Jackson. Do you understand? You may be the big bad Alpha, Reece. But your bloody useless at reading me, my wants and my desires.”
Julia then spun on her heal, marched into the bathroom and slammed the door closed.
It was when I heard the key click into place that I started to laugh.
Within seconds, Raven had joined in. Booming laughter echoed round the normally silent walls of my bedroom. I laughed until my ribs started to hurt.
I stomped over to the bathroom door, rapped on it lightly, then growled out, “be careful, my little wolf. You are playing with fire.”
I then linked my beta to meet me in my office. There was still an awful lot of work to do, regarding the disaster in Midway.
I couldn’t stay in my apartment when that little vixen was in there. A smile stilled played at my mouth at the memory of Julia’s lips and body on mine. It was sweet torture. And I fucking loved it. I loved her.
Julia POV
I locked the door, yes. Not because I was scared but to make a point. I smiled.
“My little wolf.” He had called me.
You know what? I think I was.
